  1. I know you probably don't support beta software, but I thought you might like to know that starting with Windows Insider build 17040, mbamservice.exe is crashing on a regular basis. Up until then, it worked fine through all the insider builds. When it crashes, it gets restarted automatically. Here is the event entry in the event log. 2. I just installed the free upgrade version of the Premium product. It won't start. Error message says service won't start. How do I fix this?

  5. Hello, I have been trying to resolve an issue I have been having with MalwareBytes for the last couple weeks now. Every time I run a scan it will go through the normal process until it starts trying to scan through the Program Data files, and then the service will stop working. I have tried reinstalling MBAM a few times with no luck. I was able to run ADWcleaner with no issues. I ran the scans I saw in previous forums and have attached them to the thread. Also include in the file is a screen shot of the error. Thank you for your help, Victor mb-check-results.zip
  6. When scanning the service is terminated randomly, it always occurs with less than 2 minutes. I use Peemium version 3.4.5, installed on a new installation of Windows Server 2008 SP2 on an IBM System X3200 Erro: We're sorry, but the Malwarebytes service stopped working. The program will now restart. Addition.txt FRST.txt mb-check-results.zip
  7. Hello, Actually I've had the same problem since MB yesterday's update. First, all automatic protections were turned off this morning. Second exploit protection cannot be turned on anymore and I have the message on my MB desktop that my computer is not fully protected. Can somebody help?
  8. Could we ever expect to see a VPN service from MalwareBytes as an included or seperate service? Yes, there are hundreds of VPN services out there already but a lot of those are by companies that a lot of us may have never heard of. When someone wants to use a VPN, they're expecting to use it for their privacy and the companies that run a lot of VPNs, as I already said, pretty much aren't reputable. I'm sure their users wonder if the service provider is stealing or logging their information without their knowledge and possibly making a profit by selling that information. I'd think seeing a VPN service from Malwarebytes, one of the most recognizable names in computer protection, would yield great results from both sides. If the service was built into MBAM, we also wouldn't need an extra program taking up space on our HDs and would be pretty convenient for current users that do use VPN services. Just an idea, not sure if someone made a thread on this topic already but I checked 2 pages back and found nothing. Also did a broad search on the forums but only found threads where their VPN was having issues working correctly with MBAM running. Edit: I just noticed I may have posted this in the wrong place. I saw the "Malwarebytes Tools Comments and Suggestions" and "Malwarebytes Business Products Comments and Suggestions" forum pages after posting this.
  9. Just an important remark, since I was able to solve the problem myself: The automatic installation of the last update (3.3.1) did not work. "Unable to start service" I first had to manually uninstall the program and then reactivate it with my license. Unfortunately, all settings had to be reset. That's not good behavior. I have windows 10 64bit (german settings) pro with latest "fall creators update".
  10. I have a "lifetime" subscription with an ID & KEY on this computer. I was notified a new version was available so i installed it. [Version 3.2.2] When I attempt to "Activate License" I get a message: "The usage level has exceeded the max volume allowed. There is a problem with your license key and we are unable to activate your license. Please check your license details and try entering your key again." This is the same computer that had the Lifetime subscription working for years. ??? How to correct this error???
  11. New free version 3 adds lots of components that I don't want for on-demand scanning. While the previous version was very user-friendly, this one expects constant Internet connection, leaves a service and a try icon running, and no doubt has other problems I haven't discovered yet. I'm running Windows 7 SP1. I've used Malwarebytes free for years as an occasional on-demand scanner to supplement my less capable real-time scanner, especially after engaging in potentially risky behavior like downloading new Subaru GPS map updates from an Eastern-European company. Last night I ran the previous version and asked for a database update. (I prefer to do this manually.) Of course it installed the new version, and I had to ask again for a current database (not so obvious how to do that now, since it doesn't show the date/time stamp). Then I ran a scan (overnight, with my Internet unplugged for better security). When I came back in the morning, I could not close the program because it kept throwing up new warning boxes complaining about no Internet access. (Apparently all it wanted was to check for a newer database.) I had to use Task Manager to shut it down, and even then there were a tray icon and a service still running that I had to kill manually. Looking more carefully at the settings, I could not find any way to disable automatic database checks or an apparently scheduled scan for one month hence. I'm still not really sure, given that the service was still running, whether it was doing on-demand scanning in the background or not. Further, I'm not even sure that there aren't other traces of the software still running but hidden from me (like malware?). Of course I may be missing some settings or other ways to control Version 3. Perhaps one of you can fill me in on how to achieve what I want from the new version? Bottom line -- none of this is what I want in an on-demand scanner. It appears the company is trying to make the free version so annoying as to force people to subscribe to the full version, but they are more likely to drive me away entirely! -- JClarkW
  12. I am trying to download the most recent version of Malwarebytes. Having failed after several attempts I used MB-Clean and followed the instructions to re-install Malwarebytes. Sadly after rebooting in the process I got the attached MB-Clean message and am still unable to "Connect to Service" What is the cure for this? Thank you mb-clean-results.txt
  13. Guys, I've got a big problem. Yesterday, while working on my system, I received notification (ostensibly from Malwarebytes) that there was an update to download which I dutifully did and installed. Now, when I try and do a scan, I get a pop-up message telling me that I can no longer connect to the Service. What gives? Up to this point, I've been happy with the product. Now, I'm wondering. Please restore my faith in said product and get me rolling again. I've got Windows 10 and I'm signed up for almost 2 more years. Thanks for any help in advance. Fogmill
  14. Background: I've had MBAM installed on my computer for years. After I got hit with a load (And I mean a LOAD - Stuff from tencent to no publisher to some chinese name) after running a sketchy installer (I know, I know. Don't run untrusted .exe files...) Malwarebytes has stopped working on my computer. Whenever I boot up and whenever I try to run it, I get the message, "Unable to connect to the Service". Relevantly, I also have Discord installed on my computer. Whenever I try to run it (Or it runs on startup) it's unable to connect to the Discord server as well. Both of these have started occuring after I ran the sketchy installer. Additionally, the viruses seem to have invalidated the license of Malwarebytes- I had to clear the viruses using Hitmanpro, f-secure, and SUPERantispyware, and then delete the publisher data before trying to re-installed. Twice, I've run mbam-clean and re-installed Malwarebytes. The error still exists, even after restart. On a related note, today I noticed some more malware. Specifically, vmxclient.exe hogging some ram. I haven't run any .exe s today. Is it possible I'm somehow rootkitted, or is there a different way to make time-delayed activation virus? f-secure didn't catch vmxclient.exe in its Memory scan, worryingly enough.
  15. I came back from holiday and your anti ransomware wouldn't run. I checked the problems on your forums and found no reasonable reply. So I uninstalled and tried to download again. After several mind numbing encounters with your anti-bot software I registered again, verified my email address and ... nothing no download, not instructions nothing. I'm so not impressed - even as a beta programme
  16. Updated to most recent version of MWB. Fails to load. Error message text is exactly as shown in post title. Screenshot attached. 17. On two windows 10 laptops, my Premium Malwarebyte is unable to connect to the service. One laptop is brand new en even the cleanup tool en reinstalling won't help. I have used the check-tool to create a file. What can I do to make it run on both? thx, Ruud MB-CheckResult.txt mb-clean-result.txt
  18. I've been trying to get MB3 to work ever since the update announcement went out over the 2 update mechanism. I've wiped the whole program over and over again, disabled just about every program i could imagine interfering, whitelisted under MSE, tried every combination I can think of of installing and wiping in both safe mode and regular mode. I've uninstalled and manually gone through the registry annihilating every trace of "Malwarebytes" or "mbam", reenabled windows services to automatic that had long been set to manual start for performance reasons, and even tried to go back to 2- a futile effort since 2 won't work now either. I've tried scanning with chameleon, fileassassin, all the old utilities in case there was evidence of a rootkit or other malware infection- there's none that I'm able to find. No matter how many uninstalls, reinstalls and reboots I go through, the program just won't open - a quick desktop flicker of window focus and then nothing. Task manager never seems to catch it in the process list. None of the executables will open. I try launching the service from the services panel, it starts and then immediately stops. The service log runs through the same set of statements every time and just stops logging at CCInitialize. I've attached all requested reports in a zip file. It'll decrypt with my username for the sake of at least trying to prevent passive collection by others- FRST sucks up way more data about my ancient system than I'm comfortable with having online and I'd appreciate it if you'd remove the attachment as soon as you grab it. I'm rolling Win7 Ultimate x64 with most patches installed- I hid any to do with the win10 update campaign or telemetry additions, which isn't that many at this point. Thanks for your time. -gildedlink
  19. A few days ago my Malwarebytes Premium was updated to the latest version. After upgrading i ran a full update and scan. Next restart Malwarebytes was unable to connect to Service, resulting in a error (unable to connect to service) I wanted to reinstall, but Malware won't let me uninstall, not via the included uninstall feature, not via windows uninstall programms, not via the uninstall tool provided by Malwarebytes Error is: File C:\Programm Files\Malwarebytes|Anti-Malware\unins000.dat can not be opened. Can't uninstall I have, by hand, added nearly all .exe files i could find in Malwarebytes to include as a trusted prograam in my firewall. I have sended a support form to Malware bytes and don't get an answer (so far) In all: highly frustrating, i'm not protected at this time and really ran out of options Is there anything i should do or can do to solve this. I'm really, really stuck here Running Win 10 and i'm not a PC gooroo
  20. Hi guys, Hoping you could assist we me with an issue that we've been having with our MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit installation in a Server 2008 environment. It's been fine for the past couple of months, but this morning we found that the Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit service had stopped, when we tried to start it again we receive the below error message: Most recent log files read "2016-11-04T11:49:59.561+00:00";"SYSTEM";"1";"";"";"" I've disabled our anti-virus temporarily and tried launching the service again but with the same result. Could anyone advise on the possible cause/solution?
  21. Hello good people, - I've noticed that whenever I boot up my pc(Windows 10 x64 Home, Anniversary Update 14393.10) there's a an error with the event id: 7000 affecting the MBAMSwissArmy service. The software itself does appear to be functioning and I have noticed no immediate issues, but given that MBAMSwissArmy is a .sys file I'm assuming that it's of atleast some significance to the overall good functioning of MBAM. This is the same error that I had been receiving with Anti-Exploit(In that particular case it wouldn't even launch), - that is until I installed the counter-signed build provided in this thread: (https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topic/186525-mbae-windows-10-au/#comment-1054383). eventlog.txt
  22. Hi, my name is Diego and I am running into quite a big problem. Whenever I try to change permissions, run most .exe files, install a new game, my computer pops up with the same text box: C:\...\...\...\... The specified service does not exist as an installed service. I can't play a lot of the games I want to, my clock automatically went from Eastern time to Pacific, my date went forward 5 days, and I am incredibly hindered as a gamer and programmer. I can't do anything and I really don't want to dish out another 2-3 grand on building another computer. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm not sure what other information I should post at the moment, but I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thank you.
  23. I am having a problem with Malwarebytes. For whatever reason, it will not automatically launch whenever I turn on my computer. Not only does it not launch when the computer starts, but trying to launch Malwarebytes by clicking on the icon does not work either. I tried using the Task Manager to manually start both Malwarebytes services that were listed as not running, but doing so also failed. Because of this, I uninstalled Malwarebytes, restarted my computer, and attempted installation again. For some reason, the installation was throwing errors constantly, and when it finally finished, the services didn't reappear in my services listing. To have a look at the problem that I am referring to with the installation, please watch this video. At the time of this post, Google Drive hadn't finished processing the video for online viewing. Online viewing should be available shortly, but until then, viewing the video will require you to download it.
  24. Hi there! Im a first-timer on these forums, so I apologize if I'm sort of naïve to the workings around here. But to get to my problem, I've recently came across a two-fer of problems on this computer. It started with what I believe is adware, and I'm still having issues removing it despite trying MalwareBytes, and many other antiviruses as well as rootkit killers(?). I'm not too worried about that right now, as I have another problem that has wreaked havoc and barely lets me use my computer for more than 10 minutes at a time. It doesn't seem to have any correlation with certain programs, but I keep getting an error message that says "Plug and Play/DCOM service has terminated unexpectedly and must now restart." or something along those lines. Sometimes it wont give me a reason and it just says "Windows will shut down in 1 minute" and it will proceed to restart. It can happen immediately when I log onto my computer up to an hour or so after I've logged in and I've been going about my business, but there's no doubt it will happen multiple times in a day no matter what I do or when it happens. It usually happens every 10 minutes. Is there any way to fix this? I use my computer for work so I can't let this keep happening, and I'm not about to reformat it just yet. Thanks in advance for any advice or fixes!
  25. Hi all, few weeks ago I noticed that malawarebytes stop my internet connection, do not allowed the connection to any internet site because he discovered an attempt to connect to a malicius IP by the service "svchost.exe", address's are listed below: If I disable the option to "stop the web site" in the Malawarebytes programs, I can browse on the web without problems, but I think I'm infected with a strong trojan/malaware. I have try any possible solution on the web and on this forum but seems than any program I run found nothing on my PC. My PC were formatted by a PC dealer, scanned by a "professional tecnician" but he bring me the computer still infected. So I decide to write this tread, because I think I need a step by steps instruction to remove the infection. Below I copy the link to the logs I did today like suggested in the pinned and other treads. http://pastebin.com/e22pWkx3 Here the programs I ran today and their logs: Avast Free antivirus MALAWAREBYTES free version COMBOFIX OTL aswMBR tdssKILLER dds adwCleaner RogueKiller Hijackthis I'll remark than NO one of the above mentioned programs found nothing. I hope someone can help and sorry for my bad english. Thanks in advance Andrea
