Okay so i'm having the black screen /w cursor and don't bother suggesting me any solutions as i've probably done them all. I've been working on this for 5 days and I just want to give up and reformat/wipe the pc. So first things first, this pc has a lot of important work data and i'm not really an expert into handling them during format. So how do I backup them all? Should I use my flash drive(14 gb) to store them all one by one? Because the important data can reach up to 100gb and my flash drive can only carry 14. Should I backup 14gb at a time then store them in google drive on another pc then repeat? Does anyone have a better method? I'm posting this to see if anyone has a more smooth method to backup all imporant stuff then wipe the system clean. Thank you.
Hi, Further to my pos, attached are the scan results for the Farbar tool. I had to run it on the USB drive (as the HD is not useable) Obviously as the D drive is missing, its not showing in the addition.txt file as a drive. thx Addition.txt FRST.txt
I recently received a laptop from a friend who needed some viruses removed, I don't remember all the exact viruses, Moneypak/FBI and rouge Security Software were two major problems that I immediately discovered. After getting a go ahead from said friend I proceeded to do a reformat however I did not use the recovery partition or use any recovery disks. Toshiba Satellite Win 7 Hom Pre 64 bit I reformatted the laptop's C: drive with a (bloatware / shovelware free) .iso copy of Win 7 Hom Pre 64 bit. I installed AVG 2013 and Malwarebytes then ran the scans, with nothing of immediate concern. Then proceeded to update the Win 7, MSERT popped up (and keeps popping up) with a Trojan:DOS/Alureon.K Partially removed scan result. I've since learned that Alureon.K infects the Master Boot Record and/or the other Boot Record. I have four partitions on this hard drive the only one that's labeled is (C:). Two are Primary Partitions but one partition has 0 MB cap / 0 MB free / one partition has 8.95 GB cap / 8.95 GB free. The last partition is a recovery partition 1.46 GB cap / 1.46 GB free. I don't know if Alureon.K would be hiding in one of those other partitions. I've also ran TDSSKiller with and without Loaded Modules, with Loaded Modules I got no problem, without Loaded Modules I got Physical drive: \Device\Hardisk0\DR0 and took no action (skipped). I used my 4 GB USB Flash Drive to run the TDSSK, I did not put it on the desktop however.
Ok, I Am To Understand That MBAM Will Not Be Able To Remove This Infection From My PC. That's Not Too Big Of A Deal, Most Of My Media Is Backed Up Onto An External HD Of One Kind Or Another. My Only Concern Is That Most Is Not All. I Shoot Video Of Local Bands And Artists Here In Seattle, Just For Fun, And Between My Last Backup Session And The Worm.Parite Infection I Have Some New Video Projects In The Works. I Have Updated MBAM Everyday, Rescan, And Worm.Parite Will Either Have 1 File Or A Bunch (297 One Time). If I Remove As Many As Possible Before It Replicates, What Are The Chances That Plugging In My External And Backing Up The Last Of My Media Will Result In The External (Or My Reformatted PC) Being Infected Further? Any Information Is Appreciated! Cheers!
