Hi, I was also getting the occasional pop up warning that web protection was turned off and it refused to start up again. I then noticed that Kaspersky was running a Rootkit scan - The scan was approaching 100% and as soon as it finished, Web protection could be started. The same happens if the machine is rebooted, effectively stopping the Kaspersky scan. It appears that the rootkit scan interferes with MB and it would be interesting to establish if this was so with other AV products.
I have the same problem too I have premium and the yellow real-time protection turned off pop up on the bottom right keeps showing and when you click 'turn on' or try to turn it doesn't do anything and just pops up again and again. This is annoying for a software i payed for. Can't you just have an update that fixes this problem ? Do you know the actual problem ? (collisions with some other defending s/w ?) I saw many manual steps of cleaning and reinstalling in this thread but didn't see an explanation for the cause of this problem. You help please ...
So I encountered an issue here about 1-2 weeks ago. My computer on startup will freeze right when getting to the windows desktop, right after the Task bar shows up before the icon's appear. I am able to full start my computer when the Protection module is set to not start with windows. I can still go and start the protection module after windows fully starts up but the drawback is I don't always remember to. Any ideas?
I went to enable protection module and it came up with this error message: An error has occurred. Please report this issue to our support team (include the content of all error message(s) and codes in your submission). PROGRAM_ERROR_PROTECTION_MODULE (2,0, ProtectionEnable) The system cannot find the file specified. I did move the malware bytes folder from program files to a different place on my hard drive, could that be the problem?
