  1. I was using AVG anti virus and mb3-setup-consumer-3.1.2.1733.exe Mouse behaviour If left untouched for a period, my mouse needed a button click in order to function. It seemed to be moving slowly, and would drift upwards, when hovering over a link. Modded the setup to max speed, but it still wasn't right. (In all my decades of computing, I've never experienced this mouse behaviour) I had watched F1 via a stream - many such streams launch an advert new window if the stream page is clicked. This would be a good way of forcing the user to click the page. Opening a new firefox tab : unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x00406b64 Malwarebytes scan Tried to run a Malwarebytes scan, but it wouldn't run. Spybot found nothing threatening. Installed super antispyware - it found no threats. Chameleon Ran chameleon - option 2 worked - it suggested that I upgrade, which I did to 3.5.1 However, 3.5 wouldn't launch. Uninstalled it and reinstalled 3.1 Option 2 no longer worked ... I think it was option 8 that worked ... I ran a scan ... zero threats. Note: each time an option wouldn't work, it would stop at 'enabling driver' requiring a reboot every time. Testing the 13 options took a long time. 3.5.1 Reinstalled 3.5.1 - it wouldn't launch, but it did launch the following day (maybe it needed a reboot). Ran a scan - zero threats. ------------------------ I finally finished a big report last night. Today, booted the PC ... Malwarebytes blocked 198.134.112.243 (outbound) - I hadn't launched a connection to that site. I am alerted at regular intervals of this site being blocked. -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , , Blocked, [-1], [-1],0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Unspecified Domain: IP Address: 198.134.112.243 Port: [0] Type: Outbound File: Loaded scanurl.net in Firefox - https crossed out, and the url input box did not display. Loaded scanurl.net in Chrome - https displayed - the url input boxes appeared momentarily, then disappeared, and were inaccessible. Checked the site in google transparency and phishtank - result : clean I noticed that the mouse was now functioning correctly!!! ------------ What to do? Is it possible that malware can be switched on and off? Does anybody recognise this strange mouse behaviour? Might the mouse be working correctly because 198.134.112.243 is now being blocked? Could this be simple suppression - general time-wasting aspect of a varied package of measures?
  2. That off/on fix doesn't work for me. I get this issue whenever there's a version update to Malwarebytes. Any other suggestions on a fix?
  3. I used to right click my mouse curser over documents to reveal a "drop down" menu of actions I could take (Open, Preview, 7-Zip, etc). One of these was Malwarebytes, until today. I used to scan everything with Malwarebytes before I'd open it to make sure it was safe. Today, the Malwarebytes Scan option was gone and I'm afraid to open anything. I don't think I caused this error, but how can I get it back? I have Windows 8.1 Pro running on an HP laptop. Thank you for any help.
  4. Having an issue where my mouse is not working on my PC. Earlier today I ran Malware and got hit with a hundred or so Trojans in my Razer files. I quarantined everything and ran a few more scans, quarantining anything that came up. At some point my Razer Taipan stopped working so I plugged in an old Razer lachesis and that worked for awhile. Unfortunately that stopped working after a restart. I then came to the forums for help after a system restore failed to fix my mouse and saw all the false positive issues with Razer. I hoped to simply restore everything Malware quarantined but I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and no longer have those quarantine logs. My latest system restore failed to work because it could not find a System32/MRT.exe file. I'm unfamiliar with just about all of this and it's been really difficult navigating everything with just my keyboard. I'm a little exasperated with the entire process because I'm incredibly out of my depth. I also tried using a basic USB mouse that came with the computer and that won't work either. I feel like Malware quarantined something essential for a mouse to work but I don't know where to even begin. Any help or suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
  5. My mouse courser only appears when it is over a button or text box. I let someone use my laptop and now its messed up.Plz help me fix. (I have tried restarting and updating drivers)
  6. I received a malware alert about 2 files from my avast anti-virus, it recommended that I press OK to delete them, I did, and then it said something about a " boot scan " and I pressed OK, my system started to restart ( I realized what a boot scan was, haha ) then instead of the usual boot up things with the logo and stuff it started a scan, since I knew those 2 files were not malware I canceled the scan and Windows started, but the screen was darker, taskbar was back to classic style, sound was disabled, the wi-fi icon didn't even appear, and my usb mouse was not working but my phone was connected and charging, I couldn't do some things like adjust the brightness, etc. After I went to dr. Google in order to find a fix I found a forum thread and the recommended fix was to go to msconfig, services tab, and check enable all. Indeed my services were all stopped except for the Avast Anti-Virus ones, I enabled all, restarted, everything returned to normal except my mouse which is not working at all, no lights as well. (Had problems with this when mouse's under light and clicks were working but the cursor was not moving ) . My phone connects through USB normally. Everything seems to be working normally except for my mouse. Connected it to other PC's and the mouse works normally there.
  7. Hello There, I already had this problem for a long time, every minute my PC freezes, but I can still move my mouse. If I watch youtube while it is happening, the sound continues. I tried to click on tabs in chrome, and they do open after it unfreezes. I have a feeling that my computer "sees" the stuff that I do, but I don't! 8. Hi! I clicked on a baidu.com link sent to me via skype. It contained my skype name. When the tab started to redirect to another url, I closed it. I have run 2 Avast scans, including a boot-time scan & run Malwarebytes twice & found nothing. However, I have noticed some suspicious behavior: 1. In Excel my mouse sometimes responds in a space a number of cells above where I click the pointer. 2. When I started my computer this morning I noticed the Microsoft Office Upload Notification arrow on the taskbar. 3. Connecting to the internet has been giving more trouble than usual, saying there is no internet connection when others are using it to stream movies. I'd like to be sure I haven't missed anything.
  9. My problem is my mouse keeps double clicking randomly and opens multiple apps, especially when selecting multiple items in file explorer, while copying or moving files around. Example: when in file explorer I select several MP3 files to move, it will launch as many copies of media player. I already checked the mouse settings in control panel, and everything is correct, and is not, I repeat not the problem. I suspect a virus. Things I have tried. checked mouse settings in control panel. Removed and reinstalled mouse driver. Replaced physical mouse hardware. Ran MalwareBytes ran Defender. Neither detects any virus's. Any other (GOOD) Ideas? Thanks in Advance Tony
  10. Hey, well.. I have a problem, it's been happening for a while actually. Alright so about 2/3 months ago, i restored my Computer due to like installing a lot of things, and well.. i felt weird so i just restored, and i installed things i wanted, had no issues what so ever. lately.. i have no clue whats going on.. i've been feeling like.. somethings messing with my pc, but then its all in my head.. and like well i've actually became so sick, to a point where i dont even want to be on my pc because i dont even know what to do. alright so. lately ive been noticing, when my pc is inactive and im not using it, i always leave it open, and like sometimes ill leave like a application open or something, and like the Title bar for the application goes white for a while then it goes normal, or sometimes it doesnt even go normal at all.. but ive gotten so used to it it doesnt really bother me, what actually bothers me is when my mouse keeps loading like, it has a loading animation on the side, but it only does it at certain times, like.. the times ive been seeing it was, 6AM, 8AM, 11AM, 6PM, 8PM, 11PM it's so weird, i have no clue if it could be due to a program or what it could be. or maybe it's just because when i restored, also ive noticed that my disk tray opens but thats VERY VERY rare, and yes i do scan my pc, with hitman pro and zemana, no issues even scanned the programs i have cracked with zemana and hitman nothing pops up, im soon getting a antivirus mind like.. linking a good antivirus or some sort, thanks though.
  11. Buongiorno a tutti Segnalo che lo sfondo dell'icona di malwarebytes, all'interno del menù contestuale ha lo sfondo bianco. Suggerisco di fare lo sfondo trasparente per uniformare l'icona alle altre del menù. Distinti saluti Tecnico Ivan R.
  12. Last night my mouse suddenly started moving to the left side of my screen and sticking there. I could move it up or down, but when I tried to move it to the right, it moves a few inches and then rapidly goes back to the left, before I can click on anything (exceptions: I can click on the start button which is all the way to the left on the bottom). I have taken these steps to troubleshoot, but none have helped. I'm writing to ask if you think this is likely to be a virus or malware problem, or if you have any other ideas about possible causes and troubleshooting steps: At the same time, the computer is buzzing on and off, and the buzzing sometimes stops if I pull out the mouse. My computer consultant friend thinks that this means I might need a new power source - but he didn't think that it was connected to the mouse moving to the right. I rebooted I tried a different USB mouse (that still works on another computer) and a PS/2 mouse I tried starting in Safe Mode I consulted with a friend who is professional computer troubleshooter. He accessed the computer remotely using TeamViewer, and he had the same problem with the mouse when accessing remotely. He did help improve my skills at navigating using keyboard commands. I can still access the hard drive over the network from two other computers. I had recently run a diagnostic program on the hard drive which reported no problems. He ran a disk cleaner program I updated malwarebytes and ran it twice. The first time there were a lot of threats removed, the second time it seemed clean. I rebooted after each run, but the problem persists. (If it would help for me to download the report malwarebytes created, please help me know how to find and identify I'm running a scan using AVG antivirus, but so far it hasn't found anthing. I ran a newly downloaded version of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from a flash drive, and I'm copying the report below. I don't know how to understand it (e.g. what does "whitelisted" mean?). I tried to do a system restore, but I got this message" "Unexpected error: system cannot find file specified." I thought that the system would have automatically set restore points when it automatically installs Windows Updates, as it has done recently. The computer appears to be working fine (though sometimes slow), other than the mouse problem. Thanks for your help! 13. I saw Jancu6s Post about this issue and I was wondering if you could help me with the same issue. I downloaded, DDS.SCR and DDS.COM already https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/120472-mouse-freezes-every-few-seconds-for-a-split-second/
  14. Installed Anti Exploit free edition with the hopes of eliminating the constant reinstallment of the pup "conduit" into Google's Chrome. This conduit has the attention of many as it cannot be blocked. Malware Bytes detects it plenty and quarantines the "preferences" file in Chrome, no problem. Upon restart the "conduit" appears again and continues with its interference of mouse and keyboard function. When conduit is removed from Chrome function normalizes somewhat but the best action is to not even open Chrome it seems. Tried all the remedies nothing works. Hoping Anti Exploit gets to this pervasive problem or I will have to give up on the relatively fast Chrome browser.
  15. So I've been trying to find a fix for this issue for a couple weeks now and I just can't seem to figure out anything that works. My PC suddenly started lagging videos and flash content whenever my mouse moves over them, and is even lagging games now. I'm getting really heavy feeling mouse response when trying to play games like Osu!, like my mouse is being bogged down by something, and getting video lag, even though I'm not showing any frame loss. Things that really shouldn't be lagging are lagging heavily and I can't figure out what's going on. I tried a full uninstall of both my mouse drivers and my video drivers with a clean re-install, but that didn't help either. The only thing I can think of is that there's some sort of malware causing these problems. Also, when I reduce my polling rate on my mouse heavily, it seems to alleviate the lag caused by mouse movement somewhat, but not completely. I attached FRST and Addition.txt, and here is my hijackthis log. MBAM didn't find any malware, nor did spybot or any of my other scanning tools (run from safe mode). 16. Hi there A few days ago my Synaptics touchpad started to malfunction and my computer was really laggy.. My main concern was that the touchpad was not doing what it was supposed to; when scrolling it would not release the scroll bar when I let go of the button, it was not selecting the things I clicked on etc.. The left button does not seem to function at all & touchpad seems to behave strangely, most of the time (it won't let me tap to click even though I selected that option in my touchpad settings etc).. I changed the touchpad settings to left-handed which means I can at least browse the net and use Photoshop to a certain degree although it is difficult and I've learnt a hell of a lot of new shortcuts since! Anyway.. It's been like this for about a week now and then today.... I unplugged the charger and the machine went dead even though it had been charging for plenty of time... Plugged it back in checked the lead connection etc not that.... Now it just says 8% available & charging constantly, it obviously is NOT charging and even after being plugged in for hours still turns off every time I unplug it!?!? My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6-6b50sa which, after reading about it online, seems to have a heapload of issues and one of the most common ones seems to be overheating.. Do you guys think that might be what the problem is?? It just seems like my machine is falling apart piece by piece!!! :'( I started looking for solutions in the "general pc help forum" and after my dds logs were looked at was told to start a new post here.. (You can find the original post http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=132832 there's a bit more detail and a lot more rambling there)... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, you will never know how much I appreciate it! xxx Attach2.txt DDS1.txt
  17. Hi there A few days ago my Synaptics touchpad started to malfunction and my computer was really laggy, for example when hovering over links or things in my toolbar it would not highlight the item for a while til it seemed the pc was ready... My main concern was that the touchpad was not doing what it was supposed to; when scrolling it would not release the scroll bar when I let go of the button, it was not selecting the things I clicked on etc.. After looking at advice online I found a lot of other people seemed to be having the same problem with Synaptics touchpads.. As recommended by others I changed the settings to left-handed which means I can at least browse the net and I can use Photoshop to a certain degree although it is difficult and I've learnt a hell of a lot of new shortcuts since! I think that it is the left button which has stopped working however the touchpad seems to behave strangely, most of the time (it won't let me tap to click even though I selected that option in my touchpad settings etc) Ok so anyway I have been struggling along with the ridiculousness that is my touchpad for about a week now.... Until today, I unplugged my charger and my laptop went dead... Checked the lead connection etc not that.... :'( I'm sorry for the long rambling post! I really appreciate any help people can offer! I'm a poor & struggling artist & if I lose my laptop I will be devastated (really can't afford another one!!) :'( Terrified right now!
  18. Hi everyone. I'm having a strange problem here with my mouse. It's wireless Logitech M305. What I noticed since a couple of days, is that from time to time, mouse cursor stops for a split second, as I move it around the screen. For example, I move it to the right, is stops in one point, and as I continue to push it right, it eventually starts working again. What is the most strange thing in this problem, is that when that happens, it's only in one point in the screen. To explain it better, i will give an example: let's say there is a red dot in the centre of my desktop. I am moving the cursor left and right through that dot, and eventually the problem occurs - the mouse freezes on the red dot, I push it further, it works again, but when I go back with the cursor to the dot, it freezes again exactly in the same spot. Let's say, I will repeat it 3 or 4 times, and then suddenly mouse is working good in this spot, but after few minutes it happens again but in a different place on the screen. In the beggining I thought my batteries are empty, so I changed them to new. But it didnt help. I am not using any programs that change cursors, or skins, or anything else. No effects on cursor. Anyone any idea what could it be? Maybe hardware issue? But why it happens only in one spot on the screen?
