  1. not sure why a such project is blocked by the Malwarebytes extension for Firefox version 1.0.44 . and now the hijackthis downloads is already blocked by the MB add-on for the Firefox so can this be whitelisted ?
  2. I understand that HijackThis for the most part has been replaced by newer tools. Yet, I'm still using it and just encountered an error that renders it unusable on systems when running the service: AGSService Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Service I'm sharing this in the hope that others who are using both HijackThis and the Adobe Creative Cloud will not assume this error indicates that they are infected. Something may have been updated by Adobe within the past few days as I've never encountered this issue before until today. I scan every other day. I maintain four Windows 7 systems

  5. Hi, today I noticed two things that never occured before. Skype signed me out saying I had a disk i/o error due to lack of space or something like that, and League of Legends constantly came up with errors due to the same lack of space issue. The game seemed to be corrupted and even closed down, and the program had to 'repair' itself of the corruption. My disk space was at like 2-3gb free, so I don't know how or where the space was taken up all of a sudden. I did free up space by using the utility to delete temporary files and all that junk, hoping it might help. Finally, this evening I got

  9. Hello, firstly I'd like to say sorry in advance if I'm doing something wrong (as in posting this in the wrong category or computer related) To quickly explain why I know I have a virus basically I can't open task manager anymore, so I tried all these scripts for cmd and stuff like that of the internet to get it activated again and for most of them nothing happened, but for some I got that I needed to go on registry editing, I tried and I got "registry editing has been disabled by your administrator" similar to my original error when trying to open task manager. (I honestly don't know muc

  16. My laptop has been "dysfunctional" for a few days now. Some symptoms: Unexpected shutdowns Desktop icons won't display Programs won't run Numerous reboots required to gain some operational ability Very slow response times starting programs, especially for system analysis programs Windows Action Center keeps telling me Avast (free) antivirus and Defender are not turned when they are. LastPass (password generating & saving program) displays blank. All this and more at various times. Actions taken: Ran Avast Full System Scan. It reported one infected file, but the system crashed and rebooted
  17. I've had a strange occurrence the other day where I could constantly hear the sound of a usb turn on and off as well as a bit of computer strangeness. I was unable to update windows and other things had occurred. Though the former occurred when I installed BitDefender and still happened after installation. I had a recent System Recovery and my Windows 7 has been grossly out of date. I looked around and I saw that the EventViewer had MANY instances of an anonymous account logging in and out of the computer. Though through scanning with AVG, MalwareBytes and others showed it to be clean, bu
  18. Recently over the past few days, I was suffering from a constant, random drop in connection on this 1 computer. I have 2, and the other is working fine. Initially I thought it was the IP address problem, where it was conflicting. However, that wasn't the case. Friends have advised me to try out HiJackThis to scan for malware, but I do not know what any of the information provided meant. 19. I need help with this. This computer shows about 50% of the RAM being used straight from startup (1.5GB). Windows explore often crashes immediately after startup. I read this might be caused by Threatfire trying to block a rootkit, but scans show nothing. Another weird thing I noticed is tons of repeated O8. Advice, please. ================================================================ Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.5Scan saved at 1:31:56 PM, on 7/20/2013Platform: Windows 7 (WinNT 6.00.3504)MSIE: Internet Explorer v9.00 (9.00.8112.16476)CHROME: 28.0.1500.72Boot mode: Normal Run

  23. I used malwarebytes to attempt to scan and remove an issue that was redirecting all traffic through livesearch.com. Upon completion and restart, computer no longer registers the internet connection. The computer is getting correct IP, gateway, and DNS information, and can ping by IP, but cannot ping by NS, nor does any browser (IE and Chrome) load pages either by IP or NS. This is the current Hijackthis log.
