  1. Yesterday and today I've been getting many Malewarebytes popup messages saying that a website has been blocked. This has happened even when I wasn't using the computer. I have a premium subscription and it was recently supposed to have been renewed automatically, as now when I open Malwarebytes it says I have 377 days to renewal. This morning it was blocking Chrome.exe (I was using Chrome browser; right now I am using Edge). Chrome would not allow me to use it - if I opened a new tab it gave an error message. I downloaded the latest version of Malwarebytes Adware and ran that. It found nothing, although it asked if I wanted to delete "old" software, which is the Hewlett-Packard software; I have an HP laptop so I did not delete or quarantine those. Now Chrome seems to work okay. But I looked at the Detection History in Malwarebytes and going back a few days ago to September 19 it lists a ton of things blocked, many of them doing with google, like google play, or google in the name, One blocked place is an IP address, although I have Random Addresses turned on, on my computer. Most of them listed as malware but a two dentified as trojans, those being h.parrable.com and bestteestore.net. Should I be worried? Anything else I should do? Malwarebytes has blocked those websites (I have real-time protection turned on), but what's going on with Google and Chrome? I made an RTP Detection log today and I will attach that file. Thank you for any advice you can give. RTP Detection.txt
  2. I am not getting the popups from Malwarebytes but its locking up Chrome now.
  3. Malware bytes keep blocking any google related services in firefox and cause ssl error. I have reinstalled firefox, disabled all plugins, but nothing changes, scan from MB also shows non a single threat. Also added event log. Why MB blocked www.google.com? event log.txt
  4. Hello, Currently every time I open Chrome I get a million "Website blocked due to maleware." I do NOT and have NOT used Chrome Sync. Its never been turned on. I tried to exclude the chrome folder, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome" in my Allowlist, it did NOT work. I HAVE tried to use the Malewarebytes clean which did NOT change anything at all. Below I have provided the Gatherlogs from the Support tool. This was not an issue yesterday until I decided to Check for Updates and now its ruining my experiences. Thanks for your time. mbst-grab-results.zip
  5. Hey. So, this has just happened randomly right now, I opened Google Chrome and I was met with tons of Malwarebytes notifications blocking Google related websites due to malware. Most of these websites don't have domains, they just have IP addresses. But, if they do have domains it's just google.com, accounts.google.com, etc. I've been using my computer and Google Chrome all day and this has just happened now. I've attached 2 images, 1 showing my detection history and 2 showing an example of the pop-ups I'm getting. Elise
  6. Today whenever I have had numerous pop-ups saying a site is blocked. Not sure if all the same (I will check) but it says Client.I.googl.com with IP 142.256.46.78 Is Google tracking what I am doing?
  7. Not much to say here. Went to look up something and Malwarebytes started flagging everything
  8. Hello, I am curious if Malwarebytes Browser Guard is ready for Manifest V3 (Welcome to Manifest V3 - Chrome Developers)? Adguard Browser Extension (AdGuard publishes the world's first ad blocker built on Manifest V3) and uBlock Origin (uBlock Origin Minus: an experimental Manifest v3 compatible extension - gHacks Tech News) already have experimental Manifest V3 compliant versions of their web browser extensions. Even with the limitations of Manifest V3, I hope that Malwarebytes Browser Guard will improve in ad blocking / pop-up blocking / cosmetic filtering to at least equal uBlock Origin & Adguard Browser Extension & Brave Browser's built-in ad blocker; then I can finally use Malwarebytes Browser Guard by itself, and can recommend it by itself to others. Keep up the good work, — John Jr
  9. All this started when i was looking for cheats/Trainers for a game i was playing. Turned out that trainer was a malware. This malware redirects all my Chrome search bar searches to http://ursearch.net. which according to Google is a malware redirect. I have done everything YouTube videos have told me to do. The solutions i looked online always lead me to download or buy dubious software (Spyhunter, Hitman Pro etc. ) which , as you guessed it, does nothing to remove this malware. Yes i have Windows Defender and MalwareBytes which are useless so far. What makes this malware unique is that it sticks to my Google account. I have cleaned the cookies, history, autofill, passwords, extensions, basically every human trace on my google account in Chrome browser. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. But no matter what, my clean uninfected Chrome browser gets infected the moment i login with my google account. I am sure this is not a device issue, since when i login to chrome at my work place computer , the malware comes along. The same with laptops. I could come to your house, login to your Chrome browser with my account and bring this malware to your device. How can i remove this? Is deleting my google account the only solution?
  10. We would love to have the ability to sign in with Azure AD. SSO in general helps us authenticate without having to do 2FA on each site we use - Thanks!
  11. So it seems I have some sort of malware on my Google Chrome on Mac. I'm pretty new to this so please bare with me. For example When I search a random search in Google Chrome this URL briefly shows: http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.operativeeng.com%2Fcps%3Fq%3Dwhere%2Bare%2Byou%26_pg%3DD5AF862B-7C24-5787-AF3D-AEAFF9F8B205 I am then redirected to Yahoo's search engine even though Chrome had always been my default. When I go to Chrome settings I see this search engine listed but there is no remove option. Chrome://management shows my computer is being managed by an outside source (this is a personal laptop). Going to chrome://policy shows this as default search provider http://search.operativeeng.com/favicon.ico I ran a Malwarebytes scan, it identified three threats and I quarantined and then restarted. However the malware is still on my chrome. I am wondering if it is embedded into my gmail account somehow. Thanks for any suggestions, just worried they could steal my passwords/financial information somehow.
  12. I have been working with MB and they are not getting back to me (submitted my logs 16 hours ago). I think this is a false positive but need to be sure (I have seen this come through as a false positive before). Anyone else seen this? I saw last week this was an issue but this came through Sunday. Maybe carry over? Trojan.Dropper Quarantined C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\1.3.35.452\GoogleUpdateSetup.exe Trojan.Dropper Quarantined C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\Download\{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}\1.3.35.452\GoogleUpdateSetup.exe
  13. So I had been dealing virus for a lot of times but this one just seem to be very persistent i should say. The Adware keeps coming back no matter how hard I tried. I had been running registry check, booting in safe mode and do a recovey state and a lot more stuff like using 5 antivirus to handle this not to mention searching one by one files to search it's core but to my demise I couldn't find it's core till now. Any help for cleaning this adware? cause i had done a factory reset and it was still here :")). Thx before hand
  14. I have brand new DELL computer. I've been using Google Chrome without a problem. Malwarebytes keeps popping up notification that free update should be installed. After I did it, Google Chrome is running very slow. And when I tried opening a PDF file, it would not open. And I keep getting this error message now (see attachment). I tried Microsoft Edge browser and that is working very quickly. I'm not a technical guy but can someone help me?
  15. Hello, suddenly every time that i launch google chrome, it opens a second tab to ownza.com/featured. I ran a malwarebytes scan and found nothing. Also tried it in safe mode and found nothing. Windows security also couldn't find anything. How do i get rid of this?
  16. I'm curious about what this is.....after Windows 10 update today, this popped up. Any comments would be appreciated. A scan showed no threats detected.
  17. Malwarebytes tells me through scans that PUP files are present in google chrome, and when quarantined then removed they return quickly. I installed chrome on a new laptop recently and the PUP files are detected on that as well now- so concerned that the issue is with my account. I have attached the most recent scan results on my laptop. Would appreciate any help as is concerning me. RESULTS.txt
  18. a popup started to come on my google screen saying flash was going to be deleted or something like that, and i tried to play a flash game online so i downloaded it, and i think that might be what gave me a virus because i didn't download anything else, today i tried to scroll down in google and my zoom was set as my scroll so i couldn't scroll down, and my keybindings were all messed up, most letters didn't even work and some just sent me to my history by just clicking a letter. so I couldn't type in google, or in my search engine to restart my PC. i kept trying to scan through malware bytes and it came up with a potentially unwanted program every time, and then closed google, i tried to see what might be harmful in downloads but when i looked there was nothing there and then it quickly had a popup saying that download history was deleted undo? but i couldnt click it. I managed to get into settings and reset and i seem to be able to type and stuff now, but malware bytes still detects it and closes google every time i scan it, it comes up in the Heuristic Analysis. and google still doesnt detect anything when clicking "clean up computer" in settings.
  19. Hi Guys, I am recentky starting to see my CPU usage spiking to 70 80% for no reasing I have the latest malwarebytes premium 3.8.3 and ran a full system scan and everything seems to be fine however, when I checked in the task manager there is this elevation_service.exe sometimes comes up as chrome elevation service hammering my cpu and slowing it to the point where it takes a good 30 seconds to open a folder only. I have googled and found out that it has to do something with Google Chrome update service. But, after following a tutorial I that I will include here for reference it does go away however, after reboot it comes back? ** It does actually drive me crazy But I cannot figure out what it is, I have located the file and it is in my Chrome folder which freaked me out as I have a lot of saved passwords in Chrome and history synced any chance this is a virus or just my Window is going mad? I am running Windows 10 Pro. I have tried going into safe mode and deleting it from there too, BUT when I boot normally it is there again and it only comes backup as soon as I fire up chrome again, please do excuse my English grammar. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
  20. I have an old Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 3) that is now unable to perform System Restore on ANY restore point. This computer uses a dial-up connection to connect to the internet and normally has a speed of 44.0 - 45.2 kbps, but now only connects at 24.6 kbps. Here's a list of events and the dates they occurred on. Sorry for the length of this post. February 21st: - Updated Avast Virus Definitions in the early afternoon. I turned off the computer after updating. - Turned on the computer in the evening, and the dial-up connection window appeared on start-up, prompting me to connect to the internet. This doesn't normally happen. February 23rd: - Ever since the 21st, every single time I turned on the computer, the connection window would pop-up on its own. - I checked the Avast Antivirus settings, but I already had it set to manual updates instead of automatic, so that couldn't be it. - I haven't installed anything new, so I don't know what was prompting the computer to connect on its own. February 24th: - I used System Restore to roll-back the settings to the February 15th restore point. - The problem was resolved! The computer stopped trying to connect to the internet on start-up. April 21st: - Completed a Full System Scan with Avast. - When connecting to the internet later in the day, I could only get a speed of 24.6 kbps. - I tried disconnecting and redialing for my usual speed of 45.2 kbps, but I keep getting 24.6 kbps. April 24th: - I'm still only getting 24.6 kbps. - Checked the phone line, it's working normally (no background noise), and everything is plugged in securely. - I assumed something in the settings must have changed, so I tried to use System Restore again. - When the computer restarted after using System Restore, I got this message "System Restore did not complete successfully. No changes were made to your computer." - I tried again using other Restore Points, but it fails no matter what date I choose. - I restarted the computer in Safe Mode, and still all Restore Points fail. - I try to sign-in to my Google Account to email someone for advice, and I get this message "The browser you're using doesn't support JavaScript, or has JavaScript turned off. To keep your Google Account secure, try signing in on a browser that has JavaScript" - JavaScript is already enabled. I tested it with another Google account and was able to sign-in without any problem. It is only this account that isn't working. So to sum it all up, these are the 3 problems: 1) Internet Connection speed is now consistently slower at 24.6 kbps instead of 45.2 kbps. 2) System Restore fails no matter which Restore Point I choose (even on Safe Mode). 3) Google doesn't detect JavaScript when I try signing-in with my account. Any help you can provide would be appreciated, - T-Ruth
  21. Google has just invited anyone with the skills to start a massive hacking campaign through Android OS. Plain & simple!! 👎 Malwarebytes has been crippled on the Android OS now. Scanning app's & incoming online material is only a third of what this Company does for any & every customer of the mobile type. Think about it as though the Spam phone calls & text/SMS are also being watched & guarded from hacker's. Thereby the other ⅔ we get with our subscription. Basic search using any choice of browser will show almost any app/apk found on Google Play, can be downloaded elsewhere. Google wants to be in control of everything. So isn't it possible to start offering the same subscription to the service without Google Play? 🤔 Some subscriptions are only offered on the "Developer's" website. Here on Malwarebytes site we can access our subscription & make changes already. So why can't we get updates from the site as well & keep the service without any Play Store? As contracts might be involved, a lesser secure version could still be aquired on on the Play Store. Before Christmas, there were even "fake" sale's of a # of security services, including Malwarebytes! Google was for a few redirecting to those phony site's even! By going to the source itself just ensures that it is indeed a genuine service. Actually can Google Play Store even claim such? 🤔 How many removals took place on "that" secure & regularly inspected site over... the last month? How many going back since the last major update across their domain? 🤔 1 Page is by far easier to copy & manipulate to pass for the legitimate. Usually through the ad's & additional byte's of data being used as camouflage. Even through a JPEG file if not mistaken! Yet given the # of changing pages & redirect through the categories of Malwarebytes.com it's going to take more than a simple hack of any who are into that sort of practice. 0 ad's to hide in/with & directly from the source is a step towards a global episode. Brought on by 1 company that seeks to rival a certain social media site while playing with whatever is left of a free internet! Android OS is a large # & now stand's only partially protected 😱
  22. Hello everyone, I just read this article and got a little worried: https://www.howtogeek.com/fyi/bing-is-pushing-malware-when-you-search-for-chrome/ I have three quick questions that I hope someone could help me with: 1. If you actually run that phony installer, will it still act as the official installer? As in everything will act normally but you actually have a hidden malware in your Chrome? 2. If I installed Chrome a while ago, how can I check that my installation is genuine and not a fake Google Chrome? I don' have the installer anymore. 3. Would a Malwarebytes scan detect a bad installation? I ran a scan and it didn't find anything. Thank you and have an awesome day!
  23. Hello all, I have recently noticed that Google Chrome browser version 68.0.3440.84 (64 bit) has been displaying periodically a message that my Malwarebytes version 3.5.1.2522 needs to be updated or removed due to it being incompatible. So I disabled the Chrome Browser settings in the advanced protection area of Malwarebytes as well as the protected applications area to no success so I re-enabled those settings and disabled the web protection and exploit protection and the message is now gone......obviously this is totally unacceptable so I am throwing this out to the forums to see if anyone else has experienced this issue and to find out if a resolution has been found. PS...I also enabled Beta versions and tried to update to a Beta version in hopes of a fix but unfortunately there was no Beta version to be had. PSS......I have also submitted a ticket with the support tool and will post the results to this post if nobody else has posted a resolution by the time tech support resolves my ticket.
