  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. If it is, please direct me to the correct one. 🙂 We have a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit desktop running MBAM 2.2.1.1043 and MBAE 1.13.1.127. The database version is 2020.02.10.12. Today on startup (twice) we get an elevated privilege window prompt asking for administrator password and permission to run mbamresearch.exe. And there is a red triangle with an exclamation point on the MBAM icon in the pop up task bar tray. When we open MBAM 2.2.1.1043 it opens with a pop up window that says 'A new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is ready to be installed. Install now?'with an OK button and a Later button. And there is a big yellow banner across the top of the main MBAM window that says 'Your program version is out of date' with a button that says 'Install Now' but there are NO details about what will be installed. What is going on here? What is this? This is the first time we are seeing this and it's happening on only one of the three Win 7 PCs that all are set up the same way. Is MB now rolling this out to those of us who have MBAM v2 (or v3) trying to push us into updating our MBAM to v4? Or is it something else? These PCs are all several (7 - 10) years old and about to be replaced with new Windows 10 PCs so we DO NOT want to upgrade them to MBAM v4. Thanks for any thoughts about this.
  2. I'm running three PCs with licensed lifetime standalone MBAM 2.2.1.1043 Premium and standalone MBAE which apparently updated itself to v1.12.1.37 on 3/8/18. Unfortunately this MBAE update broke Firefox 58.0.2 on all three of our PCs. Most of the time Firefox will start to launch but will stop before it has finished loading the toolbar and will just sit there. I see from the beta forum that this update has been problematic for other people as well. On one PC I uninstalled MBAE and have not reinstalled it yet. Now the MBAM icon also no longer shows up in the task bar. When I manually launch MBAM the splash screen shows 'no protection' in the Real-time Protection field. In settings both Malware Protection and Malicious Website Protection are enabled. Why is real-time protection not turning on? I tried re-entering my license ID and my Key but that made no difference. Should I deactivate and re-activate my license for MBAM to regain real-time protection? Thanks!
  3. I'm running MBAM v2.2.1.1043 (I don't see where else to post for this version) with database v2018.01.27.03 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I'm also running ESET NOD32 v9.0.425.0. Since booting up and logging on today MBAM throws constant 'malicious website blocked' pop ups for legitimate outgoing traffic when I'm in 1) Firefox 57.0.4 or 58.0, 2) MS Internet Explorer 11, and Thunderbird email client. MBAM was not doing this yesterday. Blocked items include google.com and related domains like googleapis.com (used by the MBAM site). If I start typing anything into the search box in Firefox or IE I start getting those pop ups. If I type any URL to google into the address bar of either browser I get an immediate error from each browser that the page is not accessible or secure connection failed. This is not limited to google, it happens with many, many sites. On another PC that is set up as identically as it can be, but with MBAM database v2018.1.24.8, none of this behavior is happening. I'm not updating that one for the time being. Meanwhile, I see the MBAM database has been updated to v2018.1.27.6 as I have been writing this and MBAM is still popping up 'blocked' messages for legitimate sites . . .
  4. I've just installed 2.2.1.1043 (64 bit) and the first thing scan found was trojan.floxif . Looked up forums and similar topic closed last week, saying fixed, but i downloaded and installed today (24 Sept ) and got infected. What is the solution and why is the download STILL infected ?
  5. I previously used the Malwarebytes 3.x and was forced to downgrade to Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043 due to BSODs and a long list of other issues. My question is how to I stop Malwarebytes 2.x from constantly asking me to upgrade to 3.x. I have absolutely no interest in going back to 3.x, yes I understand you recently released a patch that "fixed" the BSODs, however, they failed to solve the BSOD issue for me. So again, no interest in 3.x. Please just tell me how to block all upgrade dialogs that appear on 2.x. Appreciate your software and all your help and hopefully we can come to resolve this. Thanks guys!
  6. Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition is pushing a software LiveUpdate. Clients, so far with Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043, are getting a Symantec LiveUpdate popup stating, "LiveUpdate operations cannot finish. It is blocked by the application: 'Malwarebytes Anti-Malware version 2.2.1.1043'. Please remove the application and retry again." When we remove Malwarebytes then the LiveUpdate does install. I opened a ticket with Symantec and they say Malwarebytes isn't really blocking the install; when Symantec detects a competitors' product Symantec blocks the LiveUpdate. Is Malwarebytes working with Symantec on this? And is there a way to tell which computers are running the malwarebytes trial version versus the malwarebytes paid version? Symantec and Malwarebytes have been able to be installed simultaneously until now! Comments?
  7. March 24, 2016 Running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 with Malwarebytes 2.2.0.1024 Premium, Avast 11.1.2253 Free and Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 installed. This setup runs without problems. Now update Malwarebytes is 2.2.1.1043 is offered. After installing Update 2.2.1.1043 there is no Internet connection anymore although Windows signals that an Internet connection is established. No URL can be reached by Firefox. However, miniapplications like newsfeed are updated as usual. If Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043 is removed, registration and system state are reset and Malwarebytes 2.2.0.1024 is reinstalled the system runs without problems again. Any ideas?
