  1. I recently built a new pc, and have not even had it running for a month, and already I have a trojan... I have Windows Defender and Malwarebytes installed. After booting computer, either Malwarebytes or Windows Defender will quarantine the Win32/Bladabindi.gen Trojan, which is found in C:\ProgramData\smss.exe. I have tried deleting it many times using both of these programs, and have run full scans that show it to be gone afterwards. However, usually when I next restart, a notification will pop up immediately saying that Malwarebytes or Windows Defender has found this very same trojan in the

  3. I recently had severe update issues with Windows 8.1 Pro with Meida Center. All isues were finally mitigated via a MS Customer Support, requiring that they do a complete re-install of Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center. Immediately after this re-install, my Malwarebytes Anti-Malware was running. I saw the icon in my tray, and ran several scheduled scans, successfully for several days. Now, all of a sudden, the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware icon is missing from my tray, and when I click on the desktop icon, nothing happens; i.e., mbam.exe simply is not executing! Here is a bit more background
  4. Having had no trouble at all with Malwarebytes I have responded to a notice saying that the database needs updating but when I click on the button to do this update nothing happens. I have been on Windows 8.1 (using the free update from Microsoft some weeks ago) but this does not seem to be the cause as the trouble has only just arisen. I have tried to provide you with the 2 logs asked for and have attached them. CheckResults.txtFRST log.txt I would be most grateful for any advice you can give me.
  5. This topic is a continuation of https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/150710-mbam-2021012-bsods-kmode-exception-not-handled-and-irql-not-less-or-equal-on-a-truecrypt-partition/ To summarize: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, running on a 2nd gen (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7 laptop. After reading the reply posted before the topic was locked, I decided to run multiple virus scanning/removal programs, including Windows Defender (as I am on Windows 8.1 Pro x64), AdwCleaner, HitmanPro, and Junkware Removal Tool. (I couldn't use ComboFix b/c that wasn't compatible with 8.1.) None of these tools
  6. Running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with MBAM free 2.0.2.1012. Whenever I try to scan a TrueCrypt container, it produces a BSOD (usually KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, but I've had IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL show up too). I've tried the following: - Disabled rootkit scanning in the options - still pops up a BSOD - Used mbam-clean twice and reinstalled MBAM - still causes BSOD to appear Here's the FRST logs and some memory dumps from the crashes. Right now I do not have MBAM installed, if needed I can reinstall it. crashes.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt
  7. Hello, I'm new in this forum. I have problems with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.1.1004. When I upgraded my OS from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8.1 Pro (without Media Center), mbam simply stopped working. I tried to uninstall and re-install but the installation wizard give me some errors during the installation. When the installation finishes, mbam don't start. Finally, I tried Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.7.5.0.1300, and it works perfectly... Why I can't install the newer (and supposedly better) version of mbam but an older version works perfectly????
  8. Hello, I have windows 8.1 with AVAST & Malwarebytes 2.0 (Premium). Avast has been prompting alerts for SVCHost downloading "am_delta_e......exe" & "nis_delta_patch_.....exe" from au.v4.download.windowsupdate.com with no digital signatures (as shown in the enclosed attachments). Malwarebytes did not prompt any alerts or warnings! Are these files/downloads legitimate microsoft sources? Thank you!
  9. I find as follows with MBAE v0.10.0.1000 Windows 8.1 - Internet Explorer, MS Office applications - working Windows 8.1 with Update 1 - Internet Explorer, MS Office applications - do not open unless MBAE is disabled
  10. A few days ago I installed the windows 8.1 preview on my computer and decided to do a clean install from windows 7. Before wiping my drive I used the malwarebytes removal tool, but now I can't reactivate malwayrebytes. It is still on the same computer, nothing has changed except the OS. I tried downloading it online and booting it from the cd, but neither will work.
