  1. Hi I've used Malwarebytes for years now with AVG and Avast without problem. But I've just got a new system and wanted a new antivirus with a better interface. So I picked Kaspersky 2020 and it's great. Far less spam messages than other free version antivirus programs. But Kaspersky isn't great at picking up Malware so I wanted to install Malwarebytes again. Sadly after three attempts and after two complete windows reinstalls it seems Malwarebytes is the culprit in my system failures. Every time I install Malwarebytes the start menu refuses to open, windows settings hangs and the s
  2. I used Malwarebytes to remove a PUP but immediately after it deleted the quarantined files, the Start Menu and system apps stopped working. I have searched online and found n umerous solutions; however nothing I've done so far has helped at all. Does anyone have any ideas?
  3. Howdy, We deployed the Managed Client to our environment without creating a Start Menu and Desktop Icon. A request has come from my upstream that those be added. From the Management Console I've tried the following: Malwarebytes Management Console > Admin > Client Push Install > Scan IP range > Used my machine as a test machine > Right Clicked selected Client Push Install Unchecked “Do not create a start menu and desktop icons” > Shows installed successfully Unchecked “Install Anti-Malware” Rebooted> No joy Malwarebytes Management Console > Admin > Clie
  4. Every now and again, the start menu will randomly open. This is extremely annoying. It started a few hours ago. MBAM/ESET/MBAE/MBARW isn't blocking anything. Nothing is detected, but the start menu is randomly opening.
  5. Is it possible to exclude the PUM object type 'NoSMHelp' from being flagged and removed? Our current policies have the scanner action for PUMs set to 'Show in results and check for removal'. I of course understand that changing the action to 'Show in results list and do not check for removal' or 'Do not show in results list' will exclude it, but this is undesired as we do want PUMs to be logged and flagged for removal; just not 'PUM.Optional.NoSMHelp'. I also understand that we could find the object in the threat list and right-click the object and select 'exclude this object' or manually
  6. I noticed one day that a lot of shortcuts were missing from my desktop and start menu, and that I couldn't get Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program to run; I even tried the 'Chameleon' executables. I have also noticed that there is a new program that runs on startup called ExpoThemes Manager. I followed the instructions in this post, and have attached my log files to this post: FRST.txt Addition.txt Shortcut.txt
  7. 8. Hi, my father recently got a virus on his computer, we used malwarebytes to get rid of it, and now his Start menu folders are empty. They still have the folder names, such as Itunes but most of them are empty. I have used unhide and have gotten some of them back by putting them back into the programs folder from the temp folder smtmp. This is the second time he has gotten a virus and it has removed his icons. we wern't able to restore the start menu shortcuts before my father erassed all the temp files. I beleive that the only way to get them back is to do it manually, and thats ok. I just wan
