  1. I had a problem with my computer and my technician had to wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall windows. How do I go about installing MalwareBytes? I think our subscription is still good, and I definitely want the premium MalwareBytes, not just the free version.
  2. long story I just got a extortion email from someone who offered me proof that he had hacked my system by providing me an actual old password and asking for $2000 in bitcoin or he would send obscene pictures to everyone in my contacts. I went to check my malwarebytes and to see if realtime was shut off and could not open the application. I follow the instructions for a clean removal, then the reinstall launched after a boot but the license key was not reinstalled and now I am on the 14 day trial. I also had a problem loging into to this forum with what I thought was my id herb@herbschmoll.com but seemed to be sucessful changing it to hschmoll which one is correct. How do I get my license key
  3. The Malwarebytes that was installed was not working. When I clicked the program icon was told .idd missing and suggested re-installing the program. When I tried to re-install I am getting an error message saying file already exists. The old Malwarebytes has been removed, at least it is no longer in the programs list. I have run a FRST and attach the mb-check results mb-check-results.txt
  4. Hi! I bought licence key on g2a.com and reinstalled my old win7 to new shiny win10 and when trying register program throws dialog windows with maximum licence been achieved! Right I bought 1 computer licence, but this is same computer. How can I change it to my new system. When I'm loggin to my Malwarebytes account there is writen that I have no licence registered. What shoud I do? Demend money back or if I proof transaction with reseller - registration will be completed. Rafal
  5. I was having the same issue a lot of people have had lately with web protection turning itself off and refusing to turn it back on. I followed instructions to run the clean but when I hit yes to reinstall, it popped up that the install had failed and that I should contact Malwarebytes and include the results. I'm a safe browser in terms of the websites I usually end up on, but I have been using Malwarebytes for years and I'm quite anxious to be sitting here using my PC with only the Windows Defender doing anything. mb-clean-results.txt
  6. How should SCCM detect that Anti-Malware is installed? We used the default setting to look for the MSI Product code, but found that devices that have had the client uninstalled, still have that code. So they don't get the program reinstalled. What is the preferred way to detect that Malware Bytes is not installed?
  7. I have had MB3/Win 10 64 bit, installed and running on my Asus g73jh since November, no problems until last Saturday (1-27). I had a Windows 10 freeze up. It took a couple RESTORE attempts and 5 or 6 reboots/shutdowns to stabilize the system. In the meantime, Malwarebytes 3 suddenly became inaccessible, no matter how I approached it. Desktop icon/tray icon didn't respond, going into Programs and launching there --- nope. Windows Defender showed that attention was needed regarding MB3. After scouring the forums, I finally decided to try an Uninstall-Install. Now I cannot download and reinstall MB3 at all, even after running MB Clean. Every time I tried opening "mb3-setup-consumer-x.x.x.xxxx.exe after, however, each time I receive the error message "ShellExecuteEx failed; Code 2147746132. Class not registered." I was able to unzip an Windows-mb-installer and get it to run....for a few seconds before I got this error message: Class not registered, ClassID {00021401-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} I am about at the point where I say screw it and reformat with clean install of Windows and piece together the apps, like Civ V, GoPanda2, etc. Do you have any suggested fixes that I haven't tried. I am in no way a power user. Thanks.
  8. My wife's hard drive took a dive and I've reinstalled windows 7 and malwarebytes. However, when we type in my key, it says to many uses. It's just my PC and hers, but this is a fresh windows install on a new HD for her. I have not yet reactivated her windows if that matters. I was going to wait until after xmas just in case I need to call MS (I think we do now, right) since its a new HD.
  9. Hello to everybody, I'm a Lenovo laptop user with Wndows 10 having issues with Malwarebytes (which hasn't been terrible, to be honest) I have a couple issues I would like to find solutions to: The constant pop-up feed at the bottom right hand corner of the screen is a reaction to 'coinhive.com', which I read somewhere had to do with some cryptocurrency strategy (for interacting with users, or potential users) Is there any way to get rid of this? More importantly, I am told at regular intervals that I must upgrade Malwarebytes, and after going through the steps to do this, the install-loading box freezes and I have to do force it to close. What can I do about this, as I believe the out of date version is not working as well as it once did. The only reliable option as I see it is to cancel my account and be done with it. (In which case, can you recommend an alternative to Malwarebytes?) Thanks in advance for your help! J
  10. Following recurring messages re real-time protection deactivation, I used MB-Clean to uninstall Malwarebytes 3. On reboot, I now get a download failure message. Log file is attaced. mb-clean-results.txt
  11. I have Malwarebytes premium running on my PC, its version 3.0.5 Any time I try to run a scan it cancels out after a few seconds. I've tried exporting the scan, deleting the reports, restarting the program, restarting the computer and that doesnt fix it. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, but my downloads folder freezes whenever i try to run the installation program I've attached my most recent scan *edit - i put the actual text in now I am not tech savy so please let me know if you need other information. Thanks for looking! malwarescan.txt
  12. I've sent on oct 20th a support ticket 2107268 without reply until today. 5 days without reply? At least one automatic message "we are working on it". I had the software installed on windows 7. I've formatted the pc and installed windows 10. When I tried to activate the license a message informing that the number of activation were reached. I have just installed once before on windows 7. What can I do to activate the product? I have 546 days remaining. The Reference number is 111137934.
  13. how do i reinstall malwarebytes after nearly 10 years please
  14. So I had been using the software from time to time since I haven't used my laptop lately. I recently had found that the svcvmx adware had planted itself back on my computer. When I went to launch Malwarebytes, it said it could not connect to the server. After looking online I decided to uninstall it. When I went to reinstall with the latest version I got a pesky note saying that it could not replace the old driver. Many places I went said to either delete the driver or rename it. Neither worked and the driver wouldn't even let me have access to changing it even though I am set as the administrator. After doing so reading I found that I could use the clean up tool. Once downloaded I went to launch it, it told me the resource is in use. I went to download the Anti-Rootkit which is giving me the same message. I know my way around some parts of a computer but I am now worried that maybe a malware is preventing me from using it all together. I'm a collage freshmen who needs to have a secure computer when I use community school Wi-Fi. I have also had to uninstall chrome because of this adware and it has become very aggressive. I am hoping to get around this hiccup and remove whatever malware is causing this forever.
  15. Running Malwarebytes Premium (MWB) on Windows 10. I have a recurring problem. I try to solve it by uninstalling MWB, rebooting and reinstalling from the web site. Most recently I did this 15 minutes ago. The build was meant to be 3.0.6.1469. I got a notification that I was fully protected. The next minute I received (as in at least 6 past occasions) a notification that a newer version is available. I went into dashboard and yet again saw in the header 'Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium) 2.2.1.1043 .... hmmm .... not 1469. And guess what, below on dashboard is an orange smiley with the advice 'Your program version is out of date' and an invitation to 'Install now'. When I click that and check which build is 'new' I see that it is 1469. I install it. I get notifications that protection is turned off. So then I ... ... now read from the start of this again. You are welcome to continue the circle as long as you wish. I am disinclined to try to uninstall MWB, reboot, and 'reinstall' 1469 yet again. *sniff*
  16. Setting up a separate thread for something I discovered along the way of fixing another problem. I had to uninstall & reinstall Malwarebytes to resolve an issue. I would start from just logging into the computer and not having and programs, browser windows, etc. open. Running the uninstaller (Add/Remove Programs) had the following experience: 1) The uninstaller might not delete C:\Windows\System32\mbae64.sys...it completes successfully, but a re-install will conk out because the installer can't overwrite it. ("DeleteFIle failed; code 5 Access is denied.") 2) The mb-clean.exe might not delete mbae64.sys either 3) Trying to rename/delete mbae64.sys can fail because access denied...and you can't take ownership of the file. I lied to the computer - tried to rename the file to mbae64.sys.bak, when it popped up Access Denied, I ignored all of that and rebooted the machine with that prompt still open. The machine came back up with the rename complete and I was able to delete the file. I don't know where the problem lies, but I suggest that both the uninstaller and the clean tool need the ability to take ownership of this file in order to delete it...and me trying to manually take ownership of the file to delete it never seemed to work. Hope this information helps.
  17. Hi, I am running Windows 10 on my home Dell XPS laptop after re-configuring the pc a few days ago following a disk failure. All has been running fine for a few days and I installed MBAM version 3 a couple of days ago and decided to run a scan earlier today. When I tried to open MBAM (for the first time since it was installed) I got an error message that said something like Service error unable to start Malwarebytes Antimalware. I thought I would try to resolve this by uninstalling and re-installing the software and uninstalled using 'Uninstall a Program' but when I tried to re-install I got an error message, as follows: ‘C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbae64.sys An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file: DeleteFile failed: code 5 Access is denied Click Retry to try again, ignore to skip this file (not recommended) or abort to cancel the installation. ‘ So, I aborted the re-install and followed this process: Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers Find mbae64.sys, right click and select rename, and change it to mbae64.old Now try to install new Malwarebytes, it will be installed without any issues But, when I tried to rename the file in step 2 I got a message that I need administrator permission to rename this file. I was logged on to my system with my user account that has administrator rights so I am not sure what to do. Please would somebody be able to help me resolve this so I can re-install Malwarrebytes ? Thanks, Steve
  18. Hi, as the title says, I can't reinstall Malwarebytes. It all began, when I was installing Brutal Doom addon. I saw that for some reason, the wallpaper was pure black. I was scared and first thing I thought to do was to scan my laptop with Malwarebytes. It failed, because when I tried to run it i got "runtime error 92:137 - could not call proc" error. I tried to uninstall it, but..... "runtime error 92:137 - could not call proc". I used the mbam-clean.exe to uninstall it. Meanwhile, I downloaded setup for Malwarebytes. When the laptop rebooted, I opened the setup and... " runtime error 92:137 - could not call proc ". This seemed weird to me, so I searched about it in google. I saw "Can't install malwarebytes, run Firefox." topic. As TwinHeadedEagle said in this topic, I downloaded ADW Cleaner and scanned everything. Here's what I got: # AdwCleaner v5.119 - raport utworzono 10/06/2016 o 12:29:30 # Ostatnia aktualizacja 30/05/2016 przez Xplode # Baza danych : 2016-06-07.1 [z serwera] # System operacyjny : Windows 7 19. I am running Malwarebytes Premium (paid for version). It recently discovered and quaranteend about 450 PUPS after installing a download. After the quaranteen I notices MBAM did not appear in the system tray so I reinstalled; no change. I also discovered that 'Security Center" was not running but was able to fix that. I would like to insure that my system is clean and see MBAM once again runs in the System Tray. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Tom C
  20. Hi, I have the malware PUP.Optional.Remarkable.A on my computer and regardless of how many times I run malwarebytes, adwcleaner or any other anti-malware software, it keeps reinstalling itself as soon as I reopen a browser. How can I remove it? Thanks so much in advance
  21. I am working on a PC that had MalwareBytes free edition installed, but the computer has a virus or malware on it and I can no longer run MalwareBytes. I tried to uninstall it using control panel as well as the MalwareBytes uninstall option in the programs menu and keep getting the same error: Messages file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program. I have downloaded the latest new version of MalwareBytes free edition from the MalwareBytes.org website, but it will not install stating that the old one needs to be uninstalled first. In looking at 2 other PC's running MalwareBytes that have no issues, there is no unins000.msg file that I could even copy to try and use. Please let me know if there is a manual way to uninstall MalwareBytes so I can reinstall and try to run scans. Thanks!!
  22. Hi All, Long story short. My laptop shut off on its own and a file of 700 pictures went missing (thank God for the cloud). I wanted to run Malwarebytes, but it wouldn't run. I tried using Chameleon to start Malwarebytes, but it didn't work. Basically I want to reinstall Malwarebytes and keep my paid edition, but don't know how to do it. I found this post to re-install (https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/156624-malwarebytes-and-chameleon-fail-to-updateopen/) But it doesn't say how or if I would keep my pro edition. The re-install seemed to work for this user and I'd like to do the same and keep my pro edition. I ran the full scan of Windows Defender and it didn't find anything. Still, Malwarebytes won't open. I'm using Windows 8. Thanx I'm really a novice at all this stuff so any help would be great.
  23. Good Day, my computer disk crashed and I am working to reload my important applications; however, I do not see a link that permits me to reinstall Malwarebytes on my computer. Please help. Thanks in advance.
  24. I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit, and I transferred my Malwarebytes Pro key onto it from my old laptop some months ago. Everything has seemed fine until recently. Last night, I noticed that my MBAM notification icon was not appearing in the right end of my taskbar (I had set to always show), so I tried opening MBAM, and it asked for permission, which I granted, but it did not open. I've tried using Chamelion, and all thirteen attempts failed. I ran a boot-time scan and full system scan with avast!, and both came up clean. Then I uninstalled MBAM and tried reinstalling it, but the installation flashed me with several runtime errors, and I am still unable to start MBAM. I also tried a system restore, but that gave me a message saying that it was unable to restore. Coincidentally, or maybe not, Firefox has been occasionally freezing up and forcing me to reboot for the past few days.
  25. So I had Malwarebytes on the computer I'm currently using. I was using Malwarebytes 2.0 or above. I needed to uninstall and reinstall the program. Now I didn't realize I had to deactivate my account to transfer my license in version 2.0 and above. So I used Malwarebytes clean uninstall file to unistall the program. Now I'm attempting to use the same license on the same computer, but it thinks the license is currently in use. I can't deactivate it now. What do I do?!
