  1. My malwarebytes just locked up my PC since today. When I restarted my PC I noticed it is using an exorbitant amount of RAM to the point that my PC can barely do anything else. It is sucking up about 90% of my RAM at the moment. The web protection is also disabled and refuses to be turned on. Please help. I have already included the FRST log & MB Check log. mb-check-results.txt
  2. I noticed the real time web protection has turned off. I tried to turn it on, and it said "starting." A notification appeared five minutes later saying malwarebytes could not contact the license server. I turned off any firewalls - no effect. I wihtelisted all services and apps in malwarebytes folder. No effect. I uninstalled and reinstalled. No effect. Tried in safe mode - no effect. Ran malwarebytes cleanup app from your site - when I reinstalled it would no longer let me register my license (which is valid and came up with two green ticks), and multiple messages for the license server came up. App crashed when trying to input license details. So here are the files your support threat requested: (please delete this thread since there's probably a stupid amount of personal data contained in these logs...)
  3. When I go to the settings/ protection page and turn on web protection, it's stuck in the "starting" mode and never gets turned on. As per the instructions I found on this website, I switched "enable self-protection module early start" on, and rebooted the computer. When that didn't work, I switched "enable self-protection module" off and rebooted. When that didn't work, I uninstalled the program, downloaded and installed a fresh copy, entered my license key, and the same thing happened. I've attached a shot of the program starting but never turning on. Please advise what my next step is. Thank you. Best Regards, Martin Victor
  4. Like others... Real time web protection will not stay on. I have had MB running with AVG Free for years and never a problem until AVG decided not to play nice with MB. Fine. I purchased WebRoot and ran that along with MB. This worked fine until a day or 2 ago. Now the protection will not stay on. The only thing different I have done lately is overclock my CPU. I can't imagine that would cause the problem. Help? Thank you. mb-check-results.zip

  6. The same issue (web protection turns off) started with me today (sigh, there should have been a fix by now!). Running windows 7 ultimate / Malwarebytes 3.3.1 (Premium).   7. Hi, I'm currently trying to enable my real time protection on my premium account, but everytime it doesn't want to activate and the button instantely jump back on 'disable'.   9. The dashboard on my premium subscription shows that my computer is not fully protected. It will not keep the default setting and reverts to the "You're not fully protected" message. The web protection button will not stay on. What's happened? How do I fix this? My subscription was renewed just last month.
  10. I've been having this problem. Running v 3.3.1 here with Win 7 64 bit. Have filed a service ticket and tried imposing some exceptions, but this problem just started showing up. It's keeping the web protection layer turned off. If I go to the Protection screen and try to turn it on, it turns off again instantly. I also am running Kaspersky anti-virus v 18.0.0.405(e).
  11. The last few days, I get the pop-up that real-time protection is not enabled, and it suggests to turn Web-protection and Ransomware protection on. Unfortunately it is not possible to turn it back on. I followed another post ( ) where it suggests to add exceptions, which I did. It seems now the ransomware protection can be enabled (at least sometimes it stays enabled), but the real-time web-protection cannot be turned on. I attached the scan-results like suggested in the other post. Can someone take a look what might be wrong? I don't know what to do ...   12. This isn't the first time I have had problems with the web protection not turning on. Other people have had and are having this problem again. It's gone unfixed for a few days now. I don't feel like downloading another program and listing logs, I just want to know if the developers finding a fix for it.

  15. Hi everyone! This is only my second post ever on this forum, and I am not very experienced when it comes to antiviruses and antimalware. My question is, is Malwarebytes Free (for me, it is version 3.3.1) good enough to protect my computer on its own? Should I upgrade to premium or download another antivirus?
  16. Hi Ever since I had to do a clean install of Windows 10 on Saturday. I have not been able to get the Web Protection turned on for malwarebytes.   18. I have premium 3.2.2 and it is doing the thing.
  19. Even if I reset settings as an administrator, malware and ransomware protection won't stay on, after I restart the program. Note: I use Avast in all its glory because both these programs play well together. Any ideas would help.
