  1. Help. I've spent several hours trying to figure this out. I had (more on this in a bit) Malwarebytes Premium installed. It notified me that there was a new version through a window that popped up. I accepted the install... then nothing happened. So I opened the app and there was an orange button saying there was an update. I clicked it. I accepted or whetever... then nothing happened. Malwarebytes would keep running. I ran a scan, no issues found. Tried to update again... nothing. I downloaded the online installer and just tried to update that way. Ran MBSetup.exe as Administrator... I got the hour glass for a second... then nothing. I downloaded an offline installer (a suggestion from one of the many posts I found through Googling)... ran mb4-setup-consumer-4.1.0.167-1.0.931-1.0.25008.exe... nothing. I booted into Safe Mode but I couldn't do anything. I have closed as many running apps as I can, disabled things from startup, but NO installer/uninstaller/updater runs. I found a support tool, mb-support-1.6.1.784.exe ... I get an error that it couldn't run successfully and to please try again later. So I ran the Malwarebytes clean-up utility. Ran mb-clean-3.1.0.1035... after a few minutes it asked me to restart to finish setup. Now Malwarebytes seems to be gone but I STILL can't re-install it. H E L P. Thoughts?
  2. Hello, I just had an issue with Malwarebytes and had to uninstall it and download it again, now it's all good but I've noticed that during the scans it analyzes always the same number of elements when before I uninstall it it analyzed always different number of elements (sometimes 8000 or sometimes 6000) but now it is always 6654, is that any normal?
  3. ive been browsing this forum for help on the topic, and most advisers seem to recommend running some sort of diagnostic tool. Is this the proper course of action? And if so. how do i use this tool. and what do i need to upload?
  4. Hello, So I just bought malwarebytes premium recently and I think it may have taken over my admin rights (I've always been the admin and now I am told I dont have access) and be slowing down my computer. It also will not open on the PC. It just says it is already running. I also cannot open any other windows or the search bar. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! Best, Shek
  5. I just installed 3.8.1 over my up-to-date Premium build and ended up (after a reboot) with this: Do I no longer have a Premium license?
Liebe Grüße Jennifer Hello I bought two Malwarebytes Livetime licenses over Cleverbridge some time ago. I use this for years. Now both were locked, Although registered at Malwarebytes! Malwarebytes says they have not bought directly from us, we can not do anything. Of course they could release my license for me. Is made when bought directly from Malwarebytes. I legally bought from a company that legally acquired the licenses. And Malwarebytes almost cheats on my license. (that's how I feel) I find this business policy impossible. Can someone give me an advice here, or maybe help me? Greetings Jennifer
  7. Hi I'm new to the forum, so first of HELLO.!! I'm Matt. The reason I've joined I'm looking for some help with Malwarebytes Premium version with Lifetime License. After updating to version 3.7.1 my Premium License has deactivated, informing me I have reached the maximum number of activation's. I understand if I can log into my Malwarebytes account I can de-authorize the computer that the license is registered with and then re-activate Malwarebytes. However I don't know the password for my Malwarebyes account, which is the problem. I know the email address, it was Doesn't matter if I post that here, that email address no longer exist and therefore I don't have access to it. Basically If try and sign in to my account I can enter the email address, but I don't know the password. Also I can click on forgot password and enter my email address (the old one I no longer have access to) and it looks like it does send an email, but of course I cannot receive it. How can I regain access into my account. It's the account where all my licenses are registered? Thanks in advance for any help. Matt (sorry this long winded)
  8. So I had to reformat my laptop (again) due to the MBR being corrupted and Windows 10 not launching. After reinstalling Windows and MBAM, I went to find my license (which was newly repurchased just last month for the new year) in my email and attempt to reactivate. I was notified of the following: Selecting the only useful option takes me to the webpage where I can view all my previous licenses on the account. I see my current active one, currently using it's one and only seat and I select the [Deactivate All] key to deactivate the instance of MBAM that was assigned to my computer as it used to be. I see a momentary green pop-up indicating the action was complete which quickly disappears plus some spam about MBAM being available for Mac, but the license area seems to still indicate my license is seated. And when I attempt to activate the license again on the application, there is no change. I've tried a few different basic browser troubleshooting steps to no avail. I'm just trying to secure my laptop the way I always have, but the website doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me. Is it the website itself that is being the issue, or something I'm doing wrong? Help would be appreciated. Please and thanks.
  9. Hello, This afternoon, I updated Malwarebytes on my Kindle Fire 7" (2012) to the newest version. I only had the free version on my Fire, but it gave me a 14-day free trial of the paid version when I updated. I have MBAM Premium on my PC and laptop, and wanted to activate my Fire as my third device. However, when I enter my license key on my Fire, it's not accepted. Is there something I'm missing?

  11. Hi, I just started on old pc with vista on which I had MBW premium installed, now version 3.5.1. Wheras usually when I start the pc MWB automatically starts updating today the icon warning remains : Updates: out of date When I click on Check for updates the icon turns for 2 seconds, and that's it. Now having the pc run for an hour, the updating which always started automatically, did not start. Any ideas ? TIA
  12. I created an account just to register my discontent, and then I'll be gone from the forum and from Malwarebytes. Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Vostro. Had Malwarebytes installed for the occasional scan because even careful users like me sometimes get the odd spyware because of unscrupulous vendors including unwanted stuff I didn't ask for. It's an OK free tool for that purpose. Not great, not as good as it once was, but easy to find and install, so it is (was) among the tools I use on the infrequent occasion that I run into an infected machine. (I'm the IT manager for my company, which of course leads to being the IT manager for friends and family too ;) I've never had any need or desire for Premium or it's ilk being my real-time nanny. Got a nag pop-up today that there was a new version of Malwarebytes, and I figured I might as well update, because at the time I figured an occasional scan is always a good idea. I was wrong. I kicked off the install, and when it finished it told me about the "Free trial of Malwarebytes Premium". I didn't opt for that, nor did I see any obvious method of opting out, because I most certainly would have. Said to myself "Oh well, no harm. It can run in the background and when it nags me to upgrade I'll just say no and that will be the end of it." I was wrong. This is Problem #1 - I wanted to simply apply the update to plain old Malwarebytes scan tool, but an update wasn't what was installed. It was a "free trial of Malwarebytes Premium", which was NOT expressed anywhere before installation. So, you installed something that I didn't ask for - the classic delivery system for MALWARE! The very next thing I did was open a perfectly legitimate piece of software from a perfectly legitimate vendor. I use it in my business every day, as do a lot of people in my business. The only thing that happened was that I got a pop-up that Malwarebytes had blocked it, and said pop-up promptly disappeared. I thought "OK, false positive, no big deal. I'll merely tell Malwarebytes to make an exception for this executable, and continue on my merry way." I was wrong. This is Problem #2 - With the default settings I didn't want that are applied to the software I didn't ask for, Malwarebytes takes it upon itself to Quarantine (not "block" as the pop-up stated, but Quarantine) an application without giving the user any option to exclude it. Which brings us to Problem #3 - Since I know the difference between "block" and "quarantine", it took much longer than necessary to find out where to make an exception, as at first I didn't look at the "Quarantine" tab in the dashboard - because it said it was "blocked". Clicking on the Notifications only showed me that the action was taken, with no indication whatsoever of what I could do about it. Not explanatory text, no button to undo, no links of any kind, just the option to Export the information. I finally looked at the Quarantine tab and found the entry. Here there was an "Restore" button, so I thought "Aha! Simply click that and I'm back in business!" I was wrong. (Actually, I'm not positive it said "Restore" or if it was some similar term - I've already uninstalled Malwarebytes and I'm certainly not going to install it again to get the reference correct! If someone wants to flame me for getting the label wrong, have at it troll) Anyway, after clicking the button I attempted to open my application, and it was gone from the Start menu! I checked, and the shortcut had also disappeared from my Desktop! WTF? Who do you think you are? It's one thing to block the executable from running, it's quite another to presume to remove it from MY Start menu and desktop. That's unnecessary and intrusive. Of course, I know how to go find the executable, create a shortcut in Start and on the Desktop, change the icon back to my preference, rename it to a more convenient name than the executable, etc... in other words, MANUALLY RESTORE it... kind of what a reasonable person would have expected the "Restore" button to do. OK, so you wasted some of my time with that exercise, but I can't help thinking - what if this happened to my 83 year old mother? How would some casual home user ever regain access to their perfectly legitimate application that was quarantined by Malwarebytes? The default settings in Malwarebytes Premium are a potential disaster for the user, and the most likely consumer of this type of product is the least likely to be able to extricate themselves from the problems it can cause. Look, I'm fine with you looking for a way to cash in on Malwarebytes. It's your property and there's nothing wrong with marketing it. However there IS something wrong with marketing it deceptively, which is exactly what you are doing when an "update" installs a completely different product. That's MALWARE. Maybe you should change the name to "Malware!(...bites!)"
  13. I purchased a 2-year license for 2 devices and I had to reformat 1 of my PCs. The reformatted PC is now running Malwarebytes Free Trial but won't accept my license. Here's a screenshot.
  14. Hey there, I am unable to remove some infection that causes popups within my mozilla browser. Malewarebytes Premium on my PC blocks these sites however when I run a scan It can't seem to detect the infection. It does detect something in my my chrome browser but won't remove that permanently either. Attached are the required documents. Thanks FRST.txt Addition.txt Threat Scan Log.txt
  15. So malware bytes premium will not start up properly when I start my computer. I can only get it working if I end the processes and start it again. Obviously this is strange and not a good or effective way to have malwarebytes run. I have even tried a fresh install of windows from recovery mode. It makes me worried I’m infected, but who knows. Can anyone help? im running windows 7 64 bit on a Lenovo x230.
  16. Hi, I have MWB Premium (Windows) but nowhere does it say whether it's the For You version or For Home. How can I check please? For You only allows one device, For Home allows up to 3. I don't want to try installing on a second device in case it's the For You version and it disables it or something. Thks, JFG
