  1. I just installed 3.8.1 over my up-to-date Premium build and ended up (after a reboot) with this: Do I no longer have a Premium license?
Liebe Grüße Jennifer Hello I bought two Malwarebytes Livetime licenses over Cleverbridge some time ago. I use this for years. Now both were locked, Although registered at Malwarebytes! Malwarebytes says they have not bought directly from us, we can not do anything. Of course they could release my license for me. Is made when bought directly from Malwarebytes. I legally bought from a company that legally acquired the licenses. And Malwarebytes almost cheats on my license. (that's how I feel) I find this business policy impossible. Can someone give me an advice here, or maybe help me? Greetings Jennifer
  3. Hi I'm new to the forum, so first of HELLO.!! I'm Matt. The reason I've joined I'm looking for some help with Malwarebytes Premium version with Lifetime License. After updating to version 3.7.1 my Premium License has deactivated, informing me I have reached the maximum number of activation's. I understand if I can log into my Malwarebytes account I can de-authorize the computer that the license is registered with and then re-activate Malwarebytes. However I don't know the password for my Malwarebyes account, which is the problem. I know the email address, it was Doesn't matter if I post that here, that email address no longer exist and therefore I don't have access to it. Basically If try and sign in to my account I can enter the email address, but I don't know the password. Also I can click on forgot password and enter my email address (the old one I no longer have access to) and it looks like it does send an email, but of course I cannot receive it. How can I regain access into my account. It's the account where all my licenses are registered? Thanks in advance for any help. Matt (sorry this long winded)
  4. So I had to reformat my laptop (again) due to the MBR being corrupted and Windows 10 not launching. After reinstalling Windows and MBAM, I went to find my license (which was newly repurchased just last month for the new year) in my email and attempt to reactivate. I was notified of the following: Selecting the only useful option takes me to the webpage where I can view all my previous licenses on the account. I see my current active one, currently using it's one and only seat and I select the [Deactivate All] key to deactivate the instance of MBAM that was assigned to my computer as it used to be. I see a momentary green pop-up indicating the action was complete which quickly disappears plus some spam about MBAM being available for Mac, but the license area seems to still indicate my license is seated. And when I attempt to activate the license again on the application, there is no change. I've tried a few different basic browser troubleshooting steps to no avail. I'm just trying to secure my laptop the way I always have, but the website doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me. Is it the website itself that is being the issue, or something I'm doing wrong? Help would be appreciated. Please and thanks.
  5. Hello, This afternoon, I updated Malwarebytes on my Kindle Fire 7" (2012) to the newest version. I only had the free version on my Fire, but it gave me a 14-day free trial of the paid version when I updated. I have MBAM Premium on my PC and laptop, and wanted to activate my Fire as my third device. However, when I enter my license key on my Fire, it's not accepted. Is there something I'm missing?

  7. Hi, I just started on old pc with vista on which I had MBW premium installed, now version 3.5.1. Wheras usually when I start the pc MWB automatically starts updating today the icon warning remains : Updates: out of date When I click on Check for updates the icon turns for 2 seconds, and that's it. Now having the pc run for an hour, the updating which always started automatically, did not start. Any ideas ? TIA
  8. I created an account just to register my discontent, and then I'll be gone from the forum and from Malwarebytes. Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Vostro. Had Malwarebytes installed for the occasional scan because even careful users like me sometimes get the odd spyware because of unscrupulous vendors including unwanted stuff I didn't ask for. It's an OK free tool for that purpose. Not great, not as good as it once was, but easy to find and install, so it is (was) among the tools I use on the infrequent occasion that I run into an infected machine. (I'm the IT manager for my company, which of course leads to being the IT manager for friends and family too ;) I've never had any need or desire for Premium or it's ilk being my real-time nanny. Got a nag pop-up today that there was a new version of Malwarebytes, and I figured I might as well update, because at the time I figured an occasional scan is always a good idea. I was wrong. I kicked off the install, and when it finished it told me about the "Free trial of Malwarebytes Premium". I didn't opt for that, nor did I see any obvious method of opting out, because I most certainly would have. Said to myself "Oh well, no harm. It can run in the background and when it nags me to upgrade I'll just say no and that will be the end of it." I was wrong. This is Problem #1 - I wanted to simply apply the update to plain old Malwarebytes scan tool, but an update wasn't what was installed. It was a "free trial of Malwarebytes Premium", which was NOT expressed anywhere before installation. So, you installed something that I didn't ask for - the classic delivery system for MALWARE! The very next thing I did was open a perfectly legitimate piece of software from a perfectly legitimate vendor. I use it in my business every day, as do a lot of people in my business. The only thing that happened was that I got a pop-up that Malwarebytes had blocked it, and said pop-up promptly disappeared. I thought "OK, false positive, no big deal. I'll merely tell Malwarebytes to make an exception for this executable, and continue on my merry way." I was wrong. This is Problem #2 - With the default settings I didn't want that are applied to the software I didn't ask for, Malwarebytes takes it upon itself to Quarantine (not "block" as the pop-up stated, but Quarantine) an application without giving the user any option to exclude it. Which brings us to Problem #3 - Since I know the difference between "block" and "quarantine", it took much longer than necessary to find out where to make an exception, as at first I didn't look at the "Quarantine" tab in the dashboard - because it said it was "blocked". Clicking on the Notifications only showed me that the action was taken, with no indication whatsoever of what I could do about it. Not explanatory text, no button to undo, no links of any kind, just the option to Export the information. I finally looked at the Quarantine tab and found the entry. Here there was an "Restore" button, so I thought "Aha! Simply click that and I'm back in business!" I was wrong. (Actually, I'm not positive it said "Restore" or if it was some similar term - I've already uninstalled Malwarebytes and I'm certainly not going to install it again to get the reference correct! If someone wants to flame me for getting the label wrong, have at it troll) Anyway, after clicking the button I attempted to open my application, and it was gone from the Start menu! I checked, and the shortcut had also disappeared from my Desktop! WTF? Who do you think you are? It's one thing to block the executable from running, it's quite another to presume to remove it from MY Start menu and desktop. That's unnecessary and intrusive. Of course, I know how to go find the executable, create a shortcut in Start and on the Desktop, change the icon back to my preference, rename it to a more convenient name than the executable, etc... in other words, MANUALLY RESTORE it... kind of what a reasonable person would have expected the "Restore" button to do. OK, so you wasted some of my time with that exercise, but I can't help thinking - what if this happened to my 83 year old mother? How would some casual home user ever regain access to their perfectly legitimate application that was quarantined by Malwarebytes? The default settings in Malwarebytes Premium are a potential disaster for the user, and the most likely consumer of this type of product is the least likely to be able to extricate themselves from the problems it can cause. Look, I'm fine with you looking for a way to cash in on Malwarebytes. It's your property and there's nothing wrong with marketing it. However there IS something wrong with marketing it deceptively, which is exactly what you are doing when an "update" installs a completely different product. That's MALWARE. Maybe you should change the name to "Malware!(...bites!)"
  9. I purchased a 2-year license for 2 devices and I had to reformat 1 of my PCs. The reformatted PC is now running Malwarebytes Free Trial but won't accept my license. Here's a screenshot.
  10. Hey there, I am unable to remove some infection that causes popups within my mozilla browser. Malewarebytes Premium on my PC blocks these sites however when I run a scan It can't seem to detect the infection. It does detect something in my my chrome browser but won't remove that permanently either. Attached are the required documents. Thanks FRST.txt Addition.txt Threat Scan Log.txt
  11. So malware bytes premium will not start up properly when I start my computer. I can only get it working if I end the processes and start it again. Obviously this is strange and not a good or effective way to have malwarebytes run. I have even tried a fresh install of windows from recovery mode. It makes me worried I’m infected, but who knows. Can anyone help? im running windows 7 64 bit on a Lenovo x230.
  12. Hi, I have MWB Premium (Windows) but nowhere does it say whether it's the For You version or For Home. How can I check please? For You only allows one device, For Home allows up to 3. I don't want to try installing on a second device in case it's the For You version and it disables it or something. Thks, JFG
  13. I have 3 computers at home. I have MalwareBytes Premium on all. When I tried to download the "update" (included new program) it deleted my MalwareBytes on all three including the dashboard and my account, and I was forced to download the 14 day trial of premium. After two days of searching I finally found the key so that I'm registered again. Once that was done, I tried to open my password manager and my LastPass account was no longer accepting my user name and password. After another hour or so I was able to open LastPass and found that it was suddenly EMPTY. I don't have that backed up but, thankfully, I also had BitWarden installed on one of the computers so I could access my password list from there. The simple act of updating cost me nearly 3 hours total to fix everything it had screwed up. I can understand one of the systems getting screwy from an update but when all three have the exact same problem then it's a problem with Malwarebytes and their coding. The Malware support program would have been useless since the update wiped all of the old files and program and I could hardly download and install it until I had Malwarebytes re-installed. Has anyone else had the joy of trying to figure out what Malware screwed up? Why would this happen to all three?
  14. Hey, I'm sad to say that I'm at a total loss when it comes to computers, and I'm a 90's kid. Ugh. Also, I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I've tried doing what was suggested for people with similar problems in this forum, but nothing is working. I don't know when it happened, I don't pay much attention to it, but sometime between 4/19/18 and today 4/30/18 my Malwarebytes program was removed from my computer. During this time Windows did force an update, and this may be what caused the program to disappear. I noticed that I wasn't getting any updates on scans recently, and went to run Malwarebytes, and it gave me an error saying something like "unable to connect to program" or something like that, and I realized that I was using the "M" pinned to my taskbar, and the actual program was gone from my computer. So, I ended up going to Malwarebytes website, and re-downloaded the software. Once the files were downloaded and installed everything looked like it did before this mess started, except now it says, "You're not fully protected One or more Real-Time Protection layers are turned off." The layer that is "turned off" is "Exploit protection." I went to "My Account" and re-entered my access key, and ID, because I noticed the key was different, and it reverted back to the different key, but after doing some research this seems to be okay since there was an update with the way keys are assigned now, and I can use either the new key, or my old one. So, that is all fine and dandy. But still, whenever I try to click the Exploit Protection to "on," nothing happens. I'm getting really frustrated. I've tried closing down the program, and then re-launching it, and it still shows the Exploit Protection is off. PLEASE, ANYONE, HELP?!
  15. I see in forums that Premium version is not possible to install on windows Servers... At least version 3.2 and up ... My question is : Premium for teams is in Bussiness section and the only one unmanaged version. Can i install it on Win Server 2008 R2 and Win Server 2016 ? If not, why is in Bussiness section? Just because of priority support ? What version should i buy, so i can install it on mentioned servers, but unmanagable.. ?
  16. Has anyone got a fix for the web protection not coming. I have sent email after email to support and have never got a response. I would like to know why I am paying for a premium account when I am not able to use the web protection. For 4 days now my malwarebtyes has detected over 400 pup, viruses and Trojans because my web protection will not turn on. I have web browsers opening on their own. I have uninstalled the software 5 time and reinstalled it and noting works.
  17. Hello, Windows 10 x64 version 1709 (10.0.16299.309) running Malwarebytes Premium 3.4.4.2398. In the last few days, Windows updates did update to the latest build and I have also upgraded and uninstalled/reinstalled Microsoft Office. Additionally, Malwarebytes upgraded to 3.4.4 on the 15th. The next day, I experienced problems with Windows not loading the desktop correctly. I would type in my user account password and then it would take a while before loading my desktop with no icons present. The "working in background" mouse icon would appear and the system would not load any further. No startup programs would be loaded in the notification area and I could not click on the Start button. If I pressed ctrl+alt+del I would get an access denied error. On the occasions that I could get so far as ctrl+alt+del and click to load task manager, I would get an access denied error. I would press the reset button on my PC and it would be a repeat of the above. Finally, on at least the 3rd reset, my desktop would load correctly. My analysis of the System event log (attached) makes me suspicious that it is the upgrade to Malwarebytes 3.4.4 that is causing the problem because the last entry immediately prior to errors about services not loading (due to access denied) is: "File System Filter 'MBAMFarflt' (6.3, ‎2018‎-‎02‎-‎08T17:51:34.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager." ...and this is the case on all of the occasions that I have been unable to load my desktop properly. If you examine my event log, you will see the pattern that I am seeing (sort by: Date and Time Ascending). MB-Check and system event log attached. I thought of submitting a ticket to support but as there are a number of users experiencing issues upon Windows startup, I thought that I would post here. I was intending to confirm if Malwarebytes is the issue by uninstalling/reinstalling and/or going back to the previous version, however, I will hold off in case further troubleshooting is required. Thank you for any assistance. mb-check-results.zip startup issues.zip

  22. Software (all current as of Jan 13, 2018) OS: Win 7 x64 SP1 MB: Premium 3.3.1 AV: eSet v11 Roboform: 8.4.6.6 Chrome x64 When I'd run Chrome with Roboform enabled, I'd notice lag and high CPU use (2-5% constant) for the Roboform process (rf-chrome-nm-host.exe) attached to Chrome. This does not occur when I use Firefox x64 with Roboform enabled - the same executable is used for Firefox and the filename is not specific for Chrome (weird huh?). I used Procmon (from Sysinternals) to see what the Roboform process was doing only when Chrome was in use. There's a constant registry lookup cycle along with file lookup. I had been trying to figure out what the issue was, but finally involved the Roboform support team. They looked at my Procmon log and ran some internal tests - they said that eSet and/or MB were injecting into those processes. I tested many scenarios and in the end they were correct - MB was the culprit. With MB disabled I can run Chrome with Roboform and no spikes in CPU occur. I then went further to test a brand new Chrome profile with nothing enabled other than Roboform - same issue. I then added the Roboform executable in question to the MB exclusions list, but the CPU issue still exists only in Chrome. The CPU issue with this process only happens with MB enabled, so I now have to choose between either MB or using Roboform in Chrome. Ideas?
  23. In 'settings' my real time protection for web and exploit are both turned off. If I click on them I get a 'starting' text but then both revert to off. I am also getting a pop up screen telling me that these are off but hitting the start button sends the pop up away but it returns again. I have done several restarts, the most recent seemed to have fixed it for a few seconds. Malwarebytes was also very slow to start. I started it after a rkill (report below). A threat scan has shown nothing. Real time protection was working prior to the update on Saturday which froze my machine for 2 days. Check Results report also attached. 24. Hello, i purchased a Malwarebytes premium key a while ago for a lifetime membership. I was just wondering if that extended to my android device as well.
  25. All 3 of my computers were affected with no protection (or disabled) on MB. Yet there were other strange things going on as well. Not sure if it was a Malwarebytes Premium or Avast free update that started it all. I didn't have high resource usage, but couldn't open programs, etc. Avast ui wouldn't load and upon repair it said Malwarebytes was an infection. Also, just recently I started getting the MB couldn't load the rootkit driver. I have what I believe was the latest updates package 1.0.3804 - v3.3.1.2183 - components 1.0.262 (MB Premium) - for windows 7 64-bit Using Revo uninstaller I uninstalled Avast (and all associated registries) in advanced mode. Rebooted and MB is all good. Two questions: Does anyone really know if it was MB or Avast that created the havoc? Does anyone have recommendations for an Avast free replacement? Bitdefender OK?
