  1. I recently added new RAM to my PC and since, I've been getting some BSOD's even though I used memtest and got no errors. Anyway, I was using the Driver Verifier as instructed here. My PC then wouldn't boot due to BSOD's, after fixing that, I ran WhoCrashed to determine why that happened and it returned that MBAE64.sys was the cause. I've googled the file name and I can't seem to find any way to update it and I'm running a fully updated Malwarebytes Premium 3.4.5..
  2. Hi. Nearly 1 weeks ago suddenly Malwarebytes(Trial) started to Pop-up me a message about a blocked webpage I never visited. It always happened when I used Firefox and I use uBlock Origin(nothing happened with chorme yet). Always the same page was blocked so I run malwarebytes, adwcleaner, ,win defender, eset, Zemana and neither found anything. Hitmanpro found some non dangerous tracking cookies and I deleted them. Still the pop-up continued. Once it stopped without Finding anything. Before the stop I run Ccleaner and clear everything however I dont know the last pop up was before or after the clear. My computer turned on slow so I deleted both eset and Malwarebytes and bit later installed Mba again. A week passed and during browsing the same page started to pop up once again. I run again malware, adwcleaner and they found nothing again. At last Hitmanpro found mbae64.sys as a suspicious item.   3. Hitman Pro is flagging c:\windows\system32\drivers\mbae64.sys as a suspicious file. I'm posting here because that's an MBAM file, and I think an MBAM expert might be able to confirm it's not really a problem. My reason for thinking this follows. I've scanned the file with MBAM and Norton (both in safe mode), and with three online meta-scanners like Virus Total. All of them say the file is fine. Hitman Pro only flags mbae64.sys when I run Windows in Safe Mode. Here's what I suspect: in Safe Mode, some MBAM service/process doesn't start. That service would normally keep other AV programs from flagging mbae64.sys, so this isn't really a problem. But I'm not sure and am a little concerned. Can anyone confirm whether my Safe Mode explanation sound correct, or possibly confirm the file has a valid hash (below)?   4. Setting up a separate thread for something I discovered along the way of fixing another problem. I had to uninstall & reinstall Malwarebytes to resolve an issue. I would start from just logging into the computer and not having and programs, browser windows, etc. open. Running the uninstaller (Add/Remove Programs) had the following experience: 1) The uninstaller might not delete C:\Windows\System32\mbae64.sys...it completes successfully, but a re-install will conk out because the installer can't overwrite it. ("DeleteFIle failed; code 5 Access is denied.") 2) The mb-clean.exe might not delete mbae64.sys either 3) Trying to rename/delete mbae64.sys can fail because access denied...and you can't take ownership of the file. I lied to the computer - tried to rename the file to mbae64.sys.bak, when it popped up Access Denied, I ignored all of that and rebooted the machine with that prompt still open. The machine came back up with the rename complete and I was able to delete the file. I don't know where the problem lies, but I suggest that both the uninstaller and the clean tool need the ability to take ownership of this file in order to delete it...and me trying to manually take ownership of the file to delete it never seemed to work. Hope this information helps.
  5. Has anyone encountered the problem with the new Malwarebytes product. They combined two into one and now it doesn't work, for a week no MB on my PC. All has to do with the MB driver, mbae64.sys. The steps and their cleaner have not resolved the issue. They stopped responding to the support requests. Is it time to depart? Does anyone have this problem and what are the alternative programs are available that could complement installed Bitdefender. In the past, I'd encountered that MB caught issues earlier than BD. In some instances, BD has not caught issues at all that MD had. Time to dump MB ? Thank you
  6. I had Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit previously installed, then installed MB3 over them and re-activated the license. MB3 worked fine until last night when upon boot MB3 halted and indicated "Cannot connect to service." After cruising the forums, I uninstalled MB3, rebooted, downloaded and ran mbam-clean-, rebooted, then manually deleted all Malwarebytes directories I could find. I then attempted to reinstall MB3 from mb3-setup-consumer-, but installation failed because a pre-existing copy of MBAE64.SYS was still running. I attempted to delete MBAE64.SYS in Windows, but Windows couldn't because MBAE64.SYS was open in another program. I then downloaded and ran OpenFilesView from NirSoft to stop processes and clear flags utilizing MBAE64.SYS, but after this I still couldn't delete MBAE64.SYS, which still reported being open in another program. How can I restore MB3 to my computer? I am a licensed user. I uploaded my logs to: https://goo.gl/qXrVt8 The files are: MBAMSERVICE.ZIP is the MB3 log I compressed before uninstalling MB3. FRST_beforeUninstall is the output from FRST64, comprising FRST.txt and Addition.txt, before I uninstalled MB3. FRST_afterUninstall is the output from FRST64 after I uninstalled MB3. msinfo32.txt is the output from msinfo32. OS: 64-bit Windows 10 - Home, with current updates. The only other security software running is Windows Defender.
  7. Hello to everybody. I'm trying to install mb3-setup-consumer-, but every time there's an error . I tried all the solutions I found all aorund, but no luck. How to solve this trouble? I have windows 10. Thanks in advance.
