  1. Salutations, I recently discovered of an attempted intrusion by a variant of the Kotver Trojan. You can find all of the relevant details here (this includes logs from MBAM, HitmanPRO, FSS, FRST, and Kotver itself). According to the technician assisting me, he believes it originated from an exploit ad on a web page or something similar.[1] This reinforces my initial suspicions that WinRAR is the culprit. For some time now, the application has been generating advertisements to convince you to buy a license of their product once the evaluation period has ended (AKA nagware). Malwarebytes' ha
  2. I Stopped MBAE using the interface in order to do a system restore, the system restore had failed and recommended stopping all anti-virus software (I have a few including MWBA), when I went to restart it after successfully performing the system restore the restart button was grayed out. Now MBAE loads but informs me it is stopped each time I start my computer and I cannot restart protection via the standard interface.
  3. I've been running mbae for a long while now and about a month ago it started notifying me of what process it was protecting whenever I launched said process. "Google Chrome now protected" and such when I opened chrome. These notifications come in the form of a popup speech bubble from the system tray. This is all fine and dandy but today it out of the blue told me that it was protecting internet explorer. Now this surprised me since ive not used internet explorer for over a year and that was when I downloaded google chrome after a full os reinstall and format. I checked the taskmanager and f
  4. I have 3 PCs on my LAN all running Win7Pro. All 3 have MBAM Premium, MBAE, and HMPA installed. This a.m. I heard my primary PC alerting me of window openings and when I looked, 11 windows for IE browser were opened on it. I checked the other PCs and they had the multiple open browser windows, too. I closed all browser windows, and see no issues. Anybody have a guess as to what is going on? These are stable desktops that have never had this issue before.
  5. Hello, Apologies if this is the incorrect place to post this, but it is more of a hypothetical question regarding MBAE's abilities rather than a support inquiry. I recently discovered an intrusion attempt by Kotver-variant trojan. I believe I have tracked down the source, but I intend to do a follow-up on the Removal forums. Can the free version of MBAE theoretically stop an exploit from a webpage generated by an application or would that require premium?
  6. My coworkers and I are testing MBAE in an enterprise environment. We have been checking the console threat view regularly to see what has been found, so far not a lot. Today I added a new client to the console and noticed that the threat count shot up from about 6 to 77. When I looked it said it blocked a suspicious URL however the dates were all from 2013, a full 3 years ago. Can someone help me understand what is happening? Thanks. -Nick
  7. We are experiencing the same issue as documented here below: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/178193-solved-error-0xc0000018-when-starting-apps/ The fix suggested is to remove MBAE and install version 1.08.1.1189. I don't want to downgrade my client... We are currently running version 1.08.2.1045. This problem is intermittent and after several (sometimes 7 or 8) reboots, the problem goes away temporarily. Please advise on how to correct this (on 175 remote laptops) without downgrading the client. At this point the only option I have is to disable the MBAE service, but
  8. Hello and thanks for a wonderful product. I was reminded via Email that my MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit Premium license was soon to expire. SO, I went to your (Cleverbridge) store and purchased a 4-pack of MBAE licenses. I cannot, however, find a way to apply the new licenses. As you can see from the attached screenshot, it is activated (current key obscured for posting) but there is NO Activate button. I want to do the right thing (well, I guess I did by purchasing the new licenses) and apply them but don't know how. With all the problems people seem to have doing so, I am loathe to uninstal
  9. im thinking about buying anti-exploit license, but i would like to know if there is way to get lifetime license rather than one year?
  10. First I started getting the message than MBAE had terminated. I decided to uninstall and reinstall MBAE. Now IE11 won't launch if MBAE is running. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.zip
