  1. I need help I think my PC is infected. Malwarebytes is not working properly. When I try to open it I get an error message saying cannot connect. 2. Suddenly one evening my pc began slowing down and when i looked at my task manager I noticed Malwarebytes service was taking up a lot of memory and it kept taking more and more memory
  3. All 3 of my computers were affected with no protection (or disabled) on MB. Yet there were other strange things going on as well. Not sure if it was a Malwarebytes Premium or Avast free update that started it all. I didn't have high resource usage, but couldn't open programs, etc. Avast ui wouldn't load and upon repair it said Malwarebytes was an infection. Also, just recently I started getting the MB couldn't load the rootkit driver. I have what I believe was the latest updates package 1.0.3804 - v3.3.1.2183 - components 1.0.262 (MB Premium) - for windows 7 64-bit Using Revo uninsta
  4. Hello, I woke up my desktop this morning and saw malwarebytes app eating 13 gigs from my 16 gigs of RAM. Web protection was turned off. Reboot didn't helped to turn it on again. I did clean re-install and now it seems to work fine ... I'm very experienced with my OS and hardware and there is nothing wrong with it. I don't use any antiviruses etc. instead of Defender and Malwarebytes. So nothing was blocking it etc. Also I checked all the processes before I restarted PC and there was nothing strange running on. Please patch it - this problem occurs sin
  5. Just like the title says, my Malwarebytes is using way to much RAM. Same goes as for the CPU usage. (as seen in the picture) The program isn't scanning or doing anything at all and I have no clue how this is happening. I hadn't had this problem until recently and I'm not sure on how to fix this. I already tried uninstalling by using the cleaner and reinstalling it but I had no luck in that. Can you guys help me with fixing this problem? Thank you
  6. Hello, So I was wondering if it was at all possible with any program or anyway to either add security definitions from another virus protection program to make like an ultimate protection system so i can use less cpu so like say if i just downloaded like avast superantispyware and malewarebytes got the security definition files and moved them into like windows defender or some other antivirus/spyware/malware program it would also use those definitions to search and defend my computer plus whatever definitions it already includes
  7. So I was messing with my laptop about a week ago and found out that some extensions of Russian origin were installed to my chrome browser and some random websites were opening randomly. "Well, no big deal", thought I installing adw cleaner and deleting the extensions. When It seemed like everything was cleaned, I have continued using the laptop until the same websites have started to open and the same extensions appeared. This became worrisome. I installed malwarebytes, hitmanpro and ccleaned, deleted chrome and cleaned the cache files. Scanning, removing, rebooting... I have done ev
  8. Hello. I was trying to install Malwarebytes but it seems whatever I've caught is blocking me from installing it since I get a message that the Admin has blocked it, but I am the only Admin. I also noticed a new process in my Task Manager that keeps popping up every one in a while even when I delete it, and a file in my Windows folder that also keep re-appearing when I delete it in safemode. My browser (firefox) is now riddled with ads that don't get blocked by uBlock Origin, and I notice that when I click on links sometimes they get parsed through some website. I also know I am infected b
  9. When I am in Malwarebytes (v 3.3.1.2183) Settings Tab ->Exclusions, currently when I Remove an Exclusion (while checked) the exclusion does not disappear from my exclusions tab. This leads me to believe the exclusion has not actually been removed. I still am not sure which is true. Windows 10 Professional x64 Malwarebytes version: 3.3.1.2183 Component package version: 1.0.262 Update package version: 1.0.3545 Current DT: 12/22/2017 CST (Partially obscured "Exclusions" tab: when I remove an exclusion it should disappear from the exclusions tab if it is indeed being removed f
  10. Since a few days ago, whenever I start up my laptop, seconds later I now keep getting an error from the program telling me that "updates are not current" and I have to keep making it get updates manually though when I click on the "Check for updates" button the first time, nothing happens and the same error pops up again. Clicking that same button does make it work after all but I don't want to keep doing it each time, and I believe a little blip with a recent program update might have caused this. Might be wrong, but I hope there is a fix for it, even with MBClean that I used before. Thanks.
  11. Hi i just updated my Windows 10 in my other laptop. I tried to use Malwarebytes to scanned after restart after login the Screen is all black, but the white cursor still there. I tried to system restore after updates but it says Drive is error, try to repair drive. Then i use recovery option to change previous version of Windows 10 before updates. But still my desktop is black screen.
  12. Hi! I recently got a virus that shows about 50 explorer.exe files on my processes section. I had Avira and scanned my computer with it, but no luck. Then I got Malwarebytes, and it detected 6 unwanted programs. I logged on to my profile, but the virus was still there! I then got Kaspersky, and it didn't detect anything. I was wondering if any of you could help me? PLZ!!
  13. I bought the Malwarebytes PRO and I cant install it, and I tried the many Chameleons but the most common response I am receiving is Download failed. FRST.txt
  14. Started having problems with my browser (mozilla), pages were redirecting with ugly stuff. Checked, no new or suspious add-ons, or toolbars. Made research. First, made a scan with Windows Defender, nothing showed up. Then, I made a scan with Malwarebytes free trial, detected 2 hijacks: PUP. Optional. FFHijacker. were on quarantine and then delete it. Everything was fine, while i continued to make my homework, the websites were redirecting again, luckily malwarebytes blocked them. I ran another scan and it came clean, but the problem of pages redirecting persisted. Then I ran a scan
  15. Hi everyone! This is only my second post ever on this forum, and I am not very experienced when it comes to antiviruses and antimalware. My question is, is Malwarebytes Free (for me, it is version 3.3.1) good enough to protect my computer on its own? Should I upgrade to premium or download another antivirus?
  16. I wanted to uninstall malwarebytes the other day so I went to the apps folder and tossed it in the recycling bin and deleted it. Today it asked me to update my software. I restarted my computer but was asked again upon rebooting. I download the unistaller but after installing I couldnt find where it went so now I have to get that off my computer as well. What is up?
  17. I downloaded and used Malwarebytes for the first time today. After my scan came up with 17 possible threats I went ahead and quarantined them. After the restart of the device i noticed I no longer was able to connect to any wifi network. The computer won't even show network options to connect via wireless. I am able to get online via Ethernet. After I noticed the issue I decided to restore the threats from quarantine but still no wifi. Then I went ahead and deleted the software and reinstalled. I ran the scan again to get the report to post on the forum. I also went ahead and followed other pr
  18. So I have recently done many scans with the Malwarebytes antivirus running the latest update and each time it has detected one PUP (Optional.Ask) and three of the following: PUP.Optional.SweetPacks No matter how many times I quarantine and delete these PUPs they always reappear when I scan again. They seem to be in the Chrome files but they always seem to replace themselves. I have also noticed that the Ad Blocker extension I have has blocked a larger amount of 'ads' recently. Not sure if that has to do with anything... Screenshots will be below.
  19. Not sure why but Malwarebytes is closing Google Chrome to clean up a PUP in my Chrome/User Data folder. This is happening at every scan (which I have run multiple times a day) and takes my workflow and shoots it in the face. Not sure what this pup is from (Extension, Theme File, Etc) nor if I can/how to/should I make an exception for this. Thanks :3 mb-check-results.zip omgsthap.txt
  20. Hello I'm here to report that on my Desktop which has a wired connection, Malwarebytes was blocking my IP address from connecting to the internet when waking up from sleep. I downloaded the latest Malwarebyes and that seems to have fixed it. But if this happens again then I think there may be a false positive within the latest updates.

  22. Since I formatted my PC and reinstalled malwarebytes, I noticed the MBAMService.exe is using around 240.00K memory. I found some really old posts (2016 and 2012) about this issue, but nothing really solving it. How do I solve this issue and lower the memory usage? Thank you

  24. Hi, Is Endpoint Protection a replacement for Malwarebytes 3 on a corporate / business level? If you have Malwarebytes 3 installed on Windows, and then you install Endpoint Protection agent, the Malwarebytes removes itself. But on Mac you can have both? Do you need both to be installed to take advantage of real time protection? Is endpoint protection enough to stay protected?
  25. Good day. I have been using Malwarebytes for a few years now to run periodic (monthly) scans on my laptop. It rarely, if ever, detects anything. Maybe just 1 or 2 detections in the past 3 years. For about a year now, when I run the "Threat Scan," everything comes up clean. But when I run the "Custom Scan" and check all the boxes to have it scan my entire system, it cancels part way through with an error message about how it could not complete the scan. Today, I went to run a scan, and I got a notice that a new version of Malwarebytes was available, so I let it download/install. Afte
