  1. Hi, I'm having the same issue as the user on this thread: I've tried rkill, hitmanpro, adwcleaner, etc. The only program that sees it is malwarebytes, but after I quarantine and remove, it pops up again just as described in this post. I already downloaded the Farbar recovery scan tool. Thanks for your help, Eric
  2. In addition to the adware issue I've reported separately, my new lifetime subscription Malwarebytes has started giving me popups that it's real time protection is turned off. This was a fresh install of the program about 10 days ago that made me lose my original lifetime key (so I had to buy a new one). I do not want this program if it won't work right, so please provide a solution to getting the real time protection issue solved and make sure you've answered my other thread on the adware issue that Malwarebytes gives me popups about but can't find in a scan. As you can see in the screen shot, RT protection is off. However, it won't let me turn it on. I've quit the program and relaunched it as well as rebooted a few times.
  3. I got some automatically redirecting programs in my Pc which continuously redirecting my browser to some annoying URL's. I tried Malwarebytes but it didn't run and then i came to know that it requires administrator mode. Then i swithed to administrator mode and installed it again. But after installing it, it didn't run. I rebooted my PC and tried it again but nothing happened. Whenever i click on the shortcut, nothing happens. Help me out guys....
  4. I need help I think my PC is infected. Malwarebytes is not working properly. When I try to open it I get an error message saying cannot connect. I also get a notification saying real-time protection is turned off. My PC is sluggish and hangs up with almost any task. Please assist I will be extremely grateful!
  5. Suddenly one evening my pc began slowing down and when i looked at my task manager I noticed Malwarebytes service was taking up a lot of memory and it kept taking more and more memory
  6. All 3 of my computers were affected with no protection (or disabled) on MB. Yet there were other strange things going on as well. Not sure if it was a Malwarebytes Premium or Avast free update that started it all. I didn't have high resource usage, but couldn't open programs, etc. Avast ui wouldn't load and upon repair it said Malwarebytes was an infection. Also, just recently I started getting the MB couldn't load the rootkit driver. I have what I believe was the latest updates package 1.0.3804 - v3.3.1.2183 - components 1.0.262 (MB Premium) - for windows 7 64-bit Using Revo uninstaller I uninstalled Avast (and all associated registries) in advanced mode. Rebooted and MB is all good. Two questions: Does anyone really know if it was MB or Avast that created the havoc? Does anyone have recommendations for an Avast free replacement? Bitdefender OK?
  7. Hello, I woke up my desktop this morning and saw malwarebytes app eating 13 gigs from my 16 gigs of RAM. Web protection was turned off. Reboot didn't helped to turn it on again. I did clean re-install and now it seems to work fine ... I'm very experienced with my OS and hardware and there is nothing wrong with it. I don't use any antiviruses etc. instead of Defender and Malwarebytes. So nothing was blocking it etc. Also I checked all the processes before I restarted PC and there was nothing strange running on. Please patch it - this problem occurs since months for different Malwarebytes Users.
  8. Just like the title says, my Malwarebytes is using way to much RAM. Same goes as for the CPU usage. (as seen in the picture) The program isn't scanning or doing anything at all and I have no clue how this is happening. I hadn't had this problem until recently and I'm not sure on how to fix this. I already tried uninstalling by using the cleaner and reinstalling it but I had no luck in that. Can you guys help me with fixing this problem? Thank you
  9. Hello, So I was wondering if it was at all possible with any program or anyway to either add security definitions from another virus protection program to make like an ultimate protection system so i can use less cpu so like say if i just downloaded like avast superantispyware and malewarebytes got the security definition files and moved them into like windows defender or some other antivirus/spyware/malware program it would also use those definitions to search and defend my computer plus whatever definitions it already includes
  10. So I was messing with my laptop about a week ago and found out that some extensions of Russian origin were installed to my chrome browser and some random websites were opening randomly. "Well, no big deal", thought I installing adw cleaner and deleting the extensions. When It seemed like everything was cleaned, I have continued using the laptop until the same websites have started to open and the same extensions appeared. This became worrisome. I installed malwarebytes, hitmanpro and ccleaned, deleted chrome and cleaned the cache files. Scanning, removing, rebooting... I have done everything that I could imagine to root out the source of the virus. The only result was that the virus didn't affect my computer, but this is only because Malwarebytes was putting it to the quarantine. For a week every day I was scanning and cleaning my system, but the virus still keeps coming back. And today I found something odd: this appeared for a couple of seconds but I managed to screenshot it. So now I wonder: is there any file in the system that makes this window appear and download the virus again and again? Can you guys help me with this? Is there any way to make the virus stop coming back? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hello. I was trying to install Malwarebytes but it seems whatever I've caught is blocking me from installing it since I get a message that the Admin has blocked it, but I am the only Admin. I also noticed a new process in my Task Manager that keeps popping up every one in a while even when I delete it, and a file in my Windows folder that also keep re-appearing when I delete it in safemode. My browser (firefox) is now riddled with ads that don't get blocked by uBlock Origin, and I notice that when I click on links sometimes they get parsed through some website. I also know I am infected because Windows Defender went ballistic with trying to block and quarantine files before finally collapsing, and now it won't turn back on again. Any recommendations?
  12. When I am in Malwarebytes (v 3.3.1.2183) Settings Tab ->Exclusions, currently when I Remove an Exclusion (while checked) the exclusion does not disappear from my exclusions tab. This leads me to believe the exclusion has not actually been removed. I still am not sure which is true. Windows 10 Professional x64 Malwarebytes version: 3.3.1.2183 Component package version: 1.0.262 Update package version: 1.0.3545 Current DT: 12/22/2017 CST (Partially obscured "Exclusions" tab: when I remove an exclusion it should disappear from the exclusions tab if it is indeed being removed from malwarebytes "Exclusions".) Thank you!
  13. Since a few days ago, whenever I start up my laptop, seconds later I now keep getting an error from the program telling me that "updates are not current" and I have to keep making it get updates manually though when I click on the "Check for updates" button the first time, nothing happens and the same error pops up again. Clicking that same button does make it work after all but I don't want to keep doing it each time, and I believe a little blip with a recent program update might have caused this. Might be wrong, but I hope there is a fix for it, even with MBClean that I used before. Thanks.
  14. Hi i just updated my Windows 10 in my other laptop. I tried to use Malwarebytes to scanned after restart after login the Screen is all black, but the white cursor still there. I tried to system restore after updates but it says Drive is error, try to repair drive. Then i use recovery option to change previous version of Windows 10 before updates. But still my desktop is black screen.
  15. Hi! I recently got a virus that shows about 50 explorer.exe files on my processes section. I had Avira and scanned my computer with it, but no luck. Then I got Malwarebytes, and it detected 6 unwanted programs. I logged on to my profile, but the virus was still there! I then got Kaspersky, and it didn't detect anything. I was wondering if any of you could help me? PLZ!!
