  1. Hi everyone! I'm really concerned about this because spite of my efforts I no longer know what to do to remove this plague from my PC! Scans from Malwarebytes AdwCleaner detect Pup.Optional.Mail.Ru on my PC. However, after trying to remove it the report says the threats could not be removed. It seems to be in Chrome (which I never have installed). The thing is Chrome was uninstalled a serveral weeks ago... Other antispywares not even detect it. I really appreciate any help. My OS is Windows 10 - 64 bits. Attached a report of the scan. After choosing "Clean and Repair" from the Main Panel Windows restarts and AdwCleaner says the threats were not removed. Thanks in advance! AdwCleaner Report.txt AdwCleaner Report.zip
  2. Hi, I have Norton Security installed and running on my computer. Can I have Malwarebytes simultaneously runing on the same PC? Do you consider that this is a good idea? Because I am not an expert on cybersecurity, I would like to know your oppinion. Do both programs working together cover more harmfull cases than only one?' Maybe it is a bad idea? or Maybe not? Thank you very much in advance!😉
  3. For the past week or two, I've been getting pop-ups on my Google Chrome Browser. I've attached a screenshot of one of them. The pop-ups try to get me to visit a variety of unsavory websites. But they always have this text: Google Chrome • www.gallery Malwarebytes does not find it. If any of your have suggestions on how I might get rid of this pest, I'd be most grateful. -- Rob
  4. Hello, This is my first time coming here and it seemed to be helpful but I can't find what I need about my exact situation. I've checked out another forum (https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/226720-gexe-removal/) about this topic and it seems to have helped so far but I'm noticing the difference that this is an actual trojan (spyware or malware I'm not too advanced to know which one). Main issue is my main anti-virus program, I use McAfee, can't detect it and for some reason my windows 10 defender won't allow me to start a scan from it. (I presume it's because McAfee is seen as the default and overrides it) What has me concerned is where it's detected in my computer. To someone as inexperienced as I am these locations (my clouds, sound profiles, and keyboard) make it seem like someone has been using it as a way to log my actions and snoop around my files. Another thing I would like to address is that I've been getting security breach notifications from my gmail about others trying to access it from third-party or non-google apps (primarily from the oriental and Asian regions). Along with my minecraft account getting hacked during this same time period. I have no way of actually telling what else one or many people have access to and I find it difficult to change my passwords if there's a chance of me being keylogged. (I have changed some of my passwords and activated 2-factor on some stuff, but I still get security notifications.) I'd really appreciate the help.
  5. Issue: removing searchencrypt, malware. I have been using malwarebytes many years so did a heuristic scan and report removed lots of stuff. But searchencrypt immediately reappeared and took over all google searches. I am new to forum. It is late and I have this problem (later I will read and learn how to use for optimal response and as to not bother others). I have to sleep and don't know what harm can come to my desktop....anyone? Would greatly appreciate any advice and also what am I doing wrong -- how to keep desktop safer? Thanks, Barbara (Eluard)
  6. I want to know how this malware affects my cell phone. Also, what information does this malware collect from my phone? What kind of damage can I do?
  7. Been dealing with this for some time now. Just did a fresh reinstall yet again - Ran windows update and it said MDM is managing your orgizations updates and something about forcing me into using windows insider updates, All the security certs are fake - at least most of them, Was removing them them the hacker locked me of MMC. Yet Im on the admin account. I have run multiple antivirus and anti malware programs it never finds anything I am at a complete loss of what to do to get rid of this malware. Also it has windows update install really really old updates like my video card driver it installed was from 2017 - when I tried to install the up to date one it just fails. tried it in safe mode without networking also still failed. Any ideas suggests, any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
  8. So to begin I have had Malwarebytes premium for over a year now and it has served me well, but the automatic scans have never picked up anything on my PC. Firstly I experience the system process shooting from <1% CPU to ~12% CPU and everytime my internet stops working for like 30 seconds at least. Not a full disconnect but if I try loading a webpage in the bottom left it just says "Establishing a secure connection..." Until it finally passes then it loads and system goes back down in usage. Also during this time I usually have discord on my second monitor and I can see my connection to the server I'm on go from Green to red and my friends hear my voice choppy and distorted. Second I have downloaded process explorer a few days ago to try and see what is causing system no luck, I don't know what to look for. However the System Idle Process always shows that it's using ~90% of my CPU but if I open task manager my CPU is only at 4%. Only looking at the process through process explorer does it show it's using 90% Lastly I'm writing this on my phone so I will get onto my computer when it is needed for any scan logs etc. And try to continue this thread on my PC. Oh and I sometimes see command boxes I think? Pop up on my taskbar for a split second and sometimes see this happen in the toolbar thing but not sure it happens so fast all I see is some movement.
  9. I got a virus from supposedly installshield in the syswow64 folder and it suspends antivirus programs and web browsers when trying to search for antivirus also pops up with ads
  10. It seems like i caught a very nasty adware virus that always reinstalls itself after some time. Adwcleaner, RKill and Malwarebytes didnt help so far and im out of options, ill attach a screenshot of the Scan from Malwarebytes.
  11. So i have this program that I confirmed through web searches, is malware that completely eats up my cpus performance. I have a Dell g3 with 8th gen core i5 and a gtx 1050 and 8gb of ram. I was always able to play overwatch for example on max settings and resolution, but with this malware it becomes unplayable. Then i began to check around and task manager and such, found that it was working my cpu up to 75% and beyond on idle. When I tried ending it or uninstalling it it just comes right back. It even freezes chrome as soon as I search any word to solve the problem, as if it were protecting itself. Basically, the same problem these guys ran into https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/240938-infected-by-a-very-smart-malware https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/244894-infected-by-32-bit-setup-launcher/?tab=comments#comment-1305212 I saw from these other posts that each fix is personalized. That said I would really like the instructions from the very beginning of the process as I am not as initiated as my peers. So i would really appreciate the help as this is worrying me. Thanks in advance!

  14. I downloaded a sketchy file (was trying to make a video about how easy it is to cheat in games) and it went bad, my paypal got charged about an hour later for 100 euros, i chargedback, not so worried about that. i ran a scan and just found 1 Trojan.MalPack.PGen in C:\MSERVICES.exe which obviously i quarantined and subsequent scans show nothing. the internet suggested spyshelter, which bluescreened my pc 3 times before i uninstalled it on safe mode. and now im here. not entirely sure what to do.
  15. I ran a manual malwarebytes scan on my pc while it was on safemode and it detected 172 threats but only 74 were deleted. Do I need to install other virus removing programs? Again my pc is in safe mode.malwarebytesresults.txt the attached file is the result of the scan
  16. Someone just told me a file I just downloaded was a cookie logger, I couldn't find anything that says how these work. I never did run the program, but I still want to know if it could have infected my computer! Please help, even if cookie loggers are fine, answer the question anyway. They showed me pictures of things the logger did, so I believe that they can actually do something.
  17. My wife's MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) running Yosemite (10.10.5) had its Chrome browser hijacked by "Search Encrypt" 3 days ago. I spent the evening following online recommendations: 1) removing the offending extension or app - NONE FOUND 2) within Chrome "Restore settings to their original defaults" - DIDN'T WORK 3) Remove Chrome and various files & pref's from Library; 3A) Downloaded and ran Malwarebytes - Didn't find anything 3B) and then download and do fresh install of Chrome. - This worked - UNTIL she re-synced bookmarks, etc from her Google account. Chrome was immediately re-hijacked as before. 4) For now, I've re-deleted Chrome, and she's using Safari, though it is greatly impeding her normal work flow in her school classroom. SO... I need help! I assume that Search Encrypt has hidden something in what's synced to her Google account, and it may be synced into her Android phone also, though she hasn't mentioned any problems there yet. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
  18. Hi I have a possible malware problem and was advised to take these steps, please see attaachedAddition.txtShortcut.txtFRST.txt Now what do i do next?
  19. Hello I am here due to an ongoing concern I have detected on now 3 of my laptops. I've researched for hours on end going on almost 2 months now until deciding to post here. Whatever this malware is, it's definitely deceptive. It accesses and changes passwords, usernames, logins, access privledges, virus scans, security settings, the list goes on. Through process of elimination I'm leaning towards a root on my PCI but I can be completely wrong on that. Any help would be so greatly appreciated! I look forward to any help in the future and thank you in advance!
  20. So it looks like I have accidentally visited a shady web page, that infected my computer. Now I have ads popping on my desktop every 30 minutes or so. I did however uninstall google chrome, but the ads kept popping anyway. I have so far tried these antivirus programs: - rogueKiller - adwcleaner - Malwarebytes - Junkware Removal Tool - TDSSKiller - RKill - SuperAntiSpyware But none of them worked. The ads still pop up. I have attached a screenshot of how the ads look. Does anyone have an idea, how to remove them? I don' t want to reinstall windows if I can. 22. Hello, Could you help me with my problem ? I installed a program that turned out to be a malware, installed several bad programs on my computer. I could delete them all with Malwarebytes but it changed something in the IT access and now my windows defender "virus & thread protection" and "protection updates" won't be enabled now because : Your IT administrator has limited access to some area of this app, and the item you tried to access is not available. Contact IT helpdesk for more information. It is my personal computer and it is not normal that there is these restrictions, I'm pretty sure it is because of this bad program. I've tried changing the registry for windows defender but won't work still. Would do have a solution please ?? Thanks a lot
