Hi, I have just found these forums and have a severe problem with Malwarebytes and Nexus 7 2013. Today I noticed that the battery was draining to flat in about four hours and the problem turned out to be Malwarebytes. I shut down, recharged and the same thing happened. I started a scan which seemed to go as usual until after 54 seconds it all hung. The problem file(s) are /mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.laminar...fault/files/xplane_default_ati_9_75_0.zip. The app seems to continue scanning this file but never (I left it for about 15 minutes) completes this scan. Lokking at the files being scanned reveals "sdcard" which the Nexus does not have....could this be the problem? The only way out is to stop the app. Uninstalling Malwarebytes returns battery drain to minimal. I redownloaded, installed and tried again in case to app had been updated. No difference. I have fully uninstalled the app and the battery drain is almost nil. I have used the paid edition of Mbam on my PC for several years and have been very pleased. I also use it on my old Galaxy S2 where it works and scans perfectly, including the SDcard which is fitted. I will be most grateful for any help provided.
ok things are getting wrose now , this is the second time i've done a clean instal of malware bytes and it still can't compelte a full system scan , i recall one of the times a scan was running before it got stuck it detected 26 items , but since it was stuck i couldn't do anything about it , then later i tried to scan parts of the computer indavidually , sometimes the scan would complete before it got frozen and others times it wouldn't , but i eventually scanned through all of my dirrectories and only ended up finding a couple things to be removed , so idk where those other detected items went.... and since then i now see my com showing clear signs of infection in my broswer certain text is being highlted as clickable links for spam now , i wasn't able to identify any processes in task that could be the cause of this , and i was able to run and complete full scans with other programs consisting of super anti spyware , mss and mmrt , which only super anti spyware found my browser coockies and i trojan i think it was and got those removed but it didn't fix either of these problems.... already tried running malware bytes in safe mode and the same result happened , gets stuck on a file and wont do anything else ever at all , tried leaving it alone for many hours to see if it would eventually get past whatever it was stuck on but it didn't..... i so far have only tried running a licenced version of the program , doing custom scan to enable scannning for rootkits , why that isn't part of the default scan is byoned my..... but so far it seems the program can never make it past 20 minutes of scanning before getting stuck.... so im at a loss of what to do now.....
