  1. hi Malwarebytes AdwCleaner finds "PUP.Winlogon.Heuristic". What is this? It looks like a deep only by Windows owned thing in the Registy key "Winlogon|Userinit": A feature, not a threat? Here i find no explanations: https://blog.malwarebytes.com/detections/ More information of the scan results by AdwCleaner would be fine. System : Windows 10 x64, Panda Antivirus,

  3. I have a Big Fish game, Mind Snares-Alice's Journey & AdwCleaner states it contains a pup - adware heuristic, I think this is a false positive. Can you double check it? I have excluded it for now. Thanks,

  5. I was downloading a game from a website i had just found, but after a barrage of ads I gave up and stopped trying. When I started up my laptop the next time, a command prompt flashed for a moment and 3or 4 minutes later the desktop goes blurry and a webpage pops up and doesn't stop without my consent it has even created a second user on the system by the name"user" I have run Symantec endpoint protection scans and nothing was found... I then found out about Malwarebytes and it found a few viruses... Thing is I'm not sure what the best option for removing them is because of what
  6. Long story, bear with me. I had 4 pieces of adware on this machine when I had finished the first scan with . I kept getting 'hung' during the cleaning process. After 45 minutes of waiting I decided to kill the program and try again. And again, and again, and again no no avail. Before each scan before detection I would receive this message, (which I am still receiving). I downloaded the new build only to run into the exact same error as before. I thought the issue was fixed when i was prompted to restart my machine, (with version when the scan had finished. However, there w
  7. Hi, Running most current version of MBAM free, updated, on Win7/Ent/SP1/32--Scanning stops after "Scan file system." I looked through "Settings" to see if there was a checkbox but can't find one. Can anyone suggest how to resolve this? I know it takes a long time, but I like letting the heuristic scan run for a more-thorough inspection. GaryK
  8. Hi, Since updating to v3.04, free, when running a manual scan with all detections checked, MBAM's heuristics scan is hanging at around 307,000 files. I uninstalled v3 and reinstalled v2, and the heuristics scan completed. PC is Win7/Ent/SP1 with Trend AV disabled. GaryK
  9. Hi, A new problem has popped up with v3.04.1269 which I haven't seen with any previous version: The heuristic scan hangs at an arbitrary point mid-scan. If I run the exact same scan under v2, the scan completes with no finding of malware. GaryK
  10. Hello, I've recently downloaded and installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and I have attempted to scan my PC 5 times. 4 of these times it was a full scan, and once I tried scanning just one drive. Every time, it crashes at around the 2 hour mark, during the heuristic scan after reaching approximately 40,000 hits. Previous Googling suggested I try running a boot time scan with avast! antivirus, as well as running CHKDSK on my three HDDs which I have done, no issues or errors were found. It was also suggested I "repair my computer" using the Windows setup tool, however once I hit th
  11. I've already tried to fully unninstall (using the mbam-clean program) and the problem still occurs. I provided a screenshot of what Malwarebytes looks like when it starts this infinite scan. It's been scanning for 16 minutes, and started the heuristics scan at around the 7 minute mark. Sorry for my English, which may be poor in some parts
  12. The other day I did a Malwarebytes scan and everything was fine, no problems. Today I did a Malwarebytes scan on the computer I'm typing on, it found some things but I had to cancel the scan to remove it because the heuristic analysis was going on forever. Then I did a scan on another computer- it is still doing the heuristic analysis. It definitely wasn't taking this long the other day. Both the computers have the latest update and definitions installed. Is this a bug/side effect in the latest update or is something else wrong?
  13. I am attempting to clean my daughter's laptop. She was running an expired pre-installed version of MacAfee when she clicked on a link for source data, given to her by her professor, to complete an assignment. Shortly after clicking, the PC was full of advertisements and finally locked up. She brought the laptop to me to fix. I run Malwarebytes Premium on my PC, so I attempted to clear the PC using MB. I have tried running Malwarebytes several times and it always gets stuck during the heuristic scan. Originally there was 1300+ PUP detects. I tried running in safe mode with the same results.
  14. I saw the remote tech help for my HP envy desktop using this Malwarebytes program to remove all those popups on that computer and so I downloaded this Malware program to clean my Lenono 64 bit Y530 laptop (using Windows 7 Professional) which has been hijacked by Maxwebsearch.com which took the position of my browser's default positition. Yes, yes, I've tried the internet opetion dedault URL removal functions many many times. And yet no matter how many times you've tried to remove it fron Internet Options, it does not go away. So I paid and bought this Malwarebytes and ran a couple of d
