  1. The problem is when ever I quarantine PUP.Optional.EasyLife after opening up chrome again it comes back if I scan again. it's located in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default and it is the Secure Prefrences file. I think it's something to do with chrome sync which brings back the PUP after I reopen chrome. I don't want to clear my chrome sync data like passwords and bookmarks, anyone know how I can resolve this issue. maybe just edit the secure preferences file using notepad++ idk anyone else have this problem and figured out how to fix it? 2. If this needs to be be in a different forum please let me know where is needs to be posted. Thanks. When Google Chrome launched two BlockBlock ksinstall notifications for GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent are presented. I have attached a screenshot that includes both notifications. I have selected the 'remember' checkbox, then clicked the 'Allow' button many times. They still are presented each time Chrome is launched. Is there something that I should do to prevent this, other than not using Chrome?
  3. Hello everyone, I just read this article and got a little worried: https://www.howtogeek.com/fyi/bing-is-pushing-malware-when-you-search-for-chrome/ I have three quick questions that I hope someone could help me with: 1. If you actually run that phony installer, will it still act as the official installer? As in everything will act normally but you actually have a hidden malware in your Chrome? 2. If I installed Chrome a while ago, how can I check that my installation is genuine and not a fake Google Chrome? I don' have the installer anymore. 3. Would a Malwarebytes scan detect a bad installation? I ran a scan and it didn't find anything. Thank you and have an awesome day!
  4. My mother recently informed me of invasive pop-ups on her computer, and having had previous experience with Conduit malware, my heart sank :( Sure enough, she somehow downloaded malware, showing up as "Microsoft Office 365 - en-us" from "Microsoft Corporation", "version 16.0.10730.20102". I've run Malwarebytes, HItmanpro, and have Revo uninstaller at the ready, but have not found a site that can tell me how to remove it all, and it's been years since I had Conduit, so my memory's a little fuzzy. The Malwarebytes report is attached below- Please HELP!! malware1.txt
  5. Hello, I searched on internet and on the forums here but cound't find what I'm looking for. I have been using AdwCleaner for a long time, and never found something that couldn't be removed by it. The problem is this: I removed all malware from the computer with antivirus and antimalware software, everything seemed to be running ok, but as soon as I open Google Chrome, it displays the Chrome Cleaner Pro extension/add-on and 3 more unwanted extensions. If I check the computer with AdwCleaner it does detect the malware and removes it but not completely I guess, since after every restart of the PC as soon as Google Chrome is loaded, those "extensions" appear again, AdwCleaner detects them an removes them but as I said, Google Chrome is unusable since it activates those malware programs over and over. So, for now I'm going to remove everything again, remove the "extensions" with AdwCleaner and uninstall Google Chrome to see if that works. If it does I'll post it here but I'm also open to ideas.
  6. After updating Chrome, Adwcleaner detected 2 PUP ... Is this a mistake? Sorry for using Google translate to submit this report. Edit: I've already signed in to multiple Google Accounts on Chrome.
  7. Google Chrome keeps opening a second process of itself without a window (there's only the window I have open). If I look in Task Manager, the website on it is things like "Crusty (Insert words)", Facebook login, and about:blank. The second process doesn't close when I close Google Chrome and it reopens itself if I close it even if the other Google Chrome isn't open. I have background sync off and it uses the same file as the Google Chrome process that DOES open a window. I need to know how to get rid of it without removing Google Chrome entirely (yes, I tried reinstalling Google Chrome, it didn't work).
  8. Did the same as coug, removed "Flash Video Downloader´╗┐", installed it again and from now on everything is ok, no more riskware warning . Thanks for the hint!
  9. Me too! Just started yesterday, please advise whether we should be concerned and how to proceed.
  10. Hey guys, I'm also having this same problem.
  11. Hi guys, Everytime I open Google Chrome, Malwarebytes blocks an Outbound Connection to hanstrakr.com. This started happening recently, and there's nothing funky going on in my Extensions, Sync, or Search Engine settings. I'm unsure of where it's coming from. Not much is said on it accept that it may be connected to Data Mining, but even those people aren't certain. Below is a list of the most recent Outbound Connection it made. Does anyone know what this is, and how to stop it? --- Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 5/21/18 Protection Event Time: 9:16 PM Log File: b32c10ac-5d5d-11e8-851d-54ab3a4722fe.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.4.5.2467 Components Version: 1.0.342 Update Package Version: 1.0.5194 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 16299.431) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , , Blocked, [-1], [-1],0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: RiskWare Domain: www.hanstrackr.com IP Address: 34.252.20.187 Port: [54498] Type: Outbound File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe (end)
  12. I recently installed Chrome onto my laptop in order to use a certain website (worldspinner), and Malwarebytes picked up its Web Data and Sync Data as a PUP. Since I have used Chrome in the past this should not be picking up as such, and I have not installed any suspicious/malicious extenstions either. Chrome's PUPs.txt
  13. Every time I google a photo and would like to save it. I click save picture as, and then it goes into my Pictures folder but it saves as a BoBrowser HTML. I do not know how to fix this. I have completely removed BoBrowser by using both the Malwarebytes and by using ADWCleaner. I also have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Chrome and still found no success. I have tried Internet Explorer and this problem does not transfer over to Explorer, but I would prefer to use Google Chrome. If anyone knows how to fix this please help me.
  14. Been having a lot of problems with MWB crashing Google Chrome every time it finishes scanning. It's happening on more than one computer, so it's not just a localized issue. How can I stop this?
  15. Hi, 2 days ago this nightmare started. As always I was doing a scan with Malwarebytes and 4 problems came out: 2 of them have been solved, the others no. Their name is Adware.Elex.ShrtCln and they're located in C:\Users\bruno\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\USER DATA\Default\Web Data. Useless to say that when Malwarebytes delete them, when i restart my pc they return. I've installed a new copy of windows, a clean installation obiviously, and until I haven't reinstalled Chrome, the problem did not show up. Now, what I have to do? Thanks if you will answer, i hope fast because i'm a little bit scared from this, also because google detected some suspicious attempts to acces my account from Russia.. I'm italian so there's a problem I also post a picture of them.
  16. Hi, I have been a Malwarebytes user for about 3 years now I have not been disappointed until now. I decided to do one of my occasional PC scans and for some reason, Google chrome got flagged up immediately. according to Malwarebytes, the file is called "Web Data". something else that's odd is that Malwarebytes refuses to touch it. I had deleted the file manually and malware bytes had not detected anything else but google chrome had signed me out of my account. signing back in and re-scanning had bought the false positive back. this issue also occurs in my college notebook as seen in the images. Is there a solution to this that does not involve having to be kept signed out of google chrome. I don't want frequent popups saying I have malware when it's quite clearly a false positive. 1. Main PC 2. College Notebook
  17. Hi Aura I have this problem for 1 week I have followed all the procedure carefully but the deleted malware get back even me often find closed my google chrome Giorgio
  18. Not sure why but Malwarebytes is closing Google Chrome to clean up a PUP in my Chrome/User Data folder. This is happening at every scan (which I have run multiple times a day) and takes my workflow and shoots it in the face. Not sure what this pup is from (Extension, Theme File, Etc) nor if I can/how to/should I make an exception for this. Thanks :3 mb-check-results.zip omgsthap.txt
