  1. From https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/255169-win7-system-hijacked-through-firefox/?do=findComment&comment=1352928: Good question. https://www.malwarebytes.com/products/ positions Malwarebytes Browser Guard as supplemental to desktop security and mobile security. However there's a long tradition of people assuming that a desktop solution will be comprehensive, so I suspect that: many readers will not page down – many people simply do not discover Malwarebytes Browser Guard. From the blog post Browser Guard combats privacy abuse, tracking, clickbait, and scammers | Malwarebytes Labs: – quite verbose (five paragraphs, 163 words) followed by a large animated GIF. In retrospect it might have been better to have an unambigous "Yes" plus a link to relevant product information. However … … the product page https://www.malwarebytes.com/browserguard/ does not mention that it can/should be installed alongside desktop or mobile solutions. This page might benefit from a simple table – not too verbose – that lays out the additional protection when Malwarebytes Browser Guard is installed alongside a desktop or mobile solution. No mention of Malwarebytes Browser Guard at https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/ or https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/. ☑ https://www.malwarebytes.com/chromebook/#cms-section-2 does recommend installing the extension. The press release Malwarebytes Press Center - News & Events | Free Malwarebytes Browser Guard Combats Privacy Abuses, Tracking, Clickbait, Unwanted Ads and Tech Support Scammers: described Malwarebytes Browser Guard as a comprehensive browser security solution did not hint that the solution is supplemental (to desktop and mobile solutions). Side notes No RSS or XML feed for https://press.malwarebytes.com/ or https://blog.malwarebytes.com/. This can make it quite difficult for people to catch up on things. UX: the LOAD MORE button at https://blog.malwarebytes.com/ is unnecessarily far from the foot of the page, so I can't simply key End before using the button. It's necessary to key Page Up after going to the end. The product page describes Malwarebytes Browser Guard Premium but there's no such product (it's free, not premium).
  2. Hi Everyone, so I just subscribed to Malwarebytes for 1 year and installed it. Everything works perfectly. The problem is: I entered the wrong E-Mail adress. Now hear me out for a bit. My Mail Provider is Yahoo. So when I subscribed I entered the following: "name@yahoo.de". And that's where I screwed up because there only exist "name@yahoo.com" now. Yahoo doesn't support "de" anymore. When I try to login to my Mailbox with "name@yahoo.de" it still works but if someone is trying to send me an E-Mail with this adress, this Mail will never actually reach my Mailbox. And now I can't set up my Account for the Malwarebytes Product. The Mails Malwarebytes sent to me to set up my Account never reached my mailbox. Without my Account I literally can't change anything. There's also this auto-renewal option which renews my license after a year automatically. That means I have to pay yearly for this with my bank account and I can't even cancel it or unsubscribe. I actually created a new account with my correct adress in the hopea I can fix this issue. So basically "name@yahoo.com". It's the exact same adress but now with "com" at the end. Unfortunately it didn't work. I now have this account I have access to but it's not subscribed to anything. I already created a ticket to the customer support but I still felt like I had to post this in the forum and bring up a bit attention to this particular issue. I hope the problem can be somehow solved because if not, I'd have a yearly fee of 40€ which I can't cancel anymore. At last, thanks for reading all of this. I live in Germany so I'm not a native speaker. I hope you could understand everything I wrote. If not, I apologize for my English.
  3. I'm in the computer support business, so I know a bit more about computers than the average person. As of Oct 3, 2017 I no longer got any e-mail on Thunderbird. In an effort to figure out why I uninstalled TB, updated TB, ran tons of security scans all to no avail, after already successfully accessing my e-mail via the 1and1 Web Mail. So I knew the problem was not with 1and1. Searching the web failed to yield any helpful information, until I systematically disabled various security programs. Avast was not the culprit, but then I found it. Malwarebytes Premium, and narrowed it down to Web the Web Protection Component. Disabling it immediately fixed the problem. Enabling it blocked any new mail once more. So, I excluded 1and1.com, enabled Web Protection and tested the mail, and it was working. In addition to this incredibly annoying, time wasting problem. Malwarebytes since upgrade from v 2.xxxx has been more of a PITA than any other Security Program I have ever used. 1. Various Protections turn on and off in some unpredictable manner 2. Updates fail to appear on some machines, while they are announced on others 3 The exclusion interface has been badly degraded to waste a lot more time than on earlier versions. Countless postings asking for a fix went no place. Get your act together and follow Avast's excellent interface example for how to Exclude Folders/Files, swiftly with minimum clicks. Fire the incompetent idiots who are constantly screwing things up.
  4. Hello I am wondering if anyone can help me. Recently I have been recieving a pop up from MBAM saying that it is blocking an outboud malicous website. It seems to happen everytime I delete spam from my Yahoo e-mail (weird). I've run scans several times but it says no malware. It says its blocking defense47.com and it is going throuh firefox.exe. Should I be worried? Please help.
  5. I want to renew my yearly subscription in premium but first I want to switch to a new e-mail address. Any help?
  6. I have been battling a virus for two weeks that periodically sends random e-mails containing a presumably viral link. Several scans have been run with Malwarebytes Pro without any infected files being located. Attached are the logs generated for diagnostics. This is my first time posting to a help site, so please advise if I am not proceeding with the correct protocol. dds.txt attach.txt
