  1. On the dashboard against "Real time protection", is the message "Malware protection disabled". I "Fix now", but get the same message each time I bootup. I have tried removing and re-installing but no difference.
  2. I've read every single thread on this topic, and there are a ton of them so I'm confident it's a big problem. I've also tried every suggestion, including: Update database and restartUpdate database and rebootWipe the whole environment and reinstallManually delete and update the databaseSetting from "Fix Now"Setting from "Icon Tray"Setting from "Settings"... and several othersThese suggestions simply don't work. I have five family computers, all of them running MBAM-Premium ... and I just added one additional computer and get this error, and can't for the life of me figure out how to solve it. The only difference is that this is the only Windows-8 computer, but I have trouble believing that's the problem given OS hasn't been listed in any of the forum posts as a contributing factor. Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this annoying problem ... that hasn't been documented in the posts already? I love this application, but this will be my last purchased version if I can't crack the code on this issue pretty darn quickly. Oh ... BTW ... the solution that's "Pinned" to the top of this forum ... doesn't work. Rusty
  3. Alright so here's what happened, I went to bed malwarebytes working fine, I wake up The malicious website protection is disabled! I run a scan, update it and reboot, Nothing works. Please help, Minecrafter.
  4. Hello everyone, just created an account to try to solve some problems on my PC. I have been always paranoic about virus, malware, etc. And I think there's something strange on my PC. Security prograns on my PC: - Malwarebytes (trial version) - Avast (free version) - Spybot (free version) Before having the Avast antivirus, I had the ESET Internet Security trial. The trial is now over and I searched for a good (and free) antivirus. But, since the day that I installed the Avast antivirus, Malwarebytes stopped the real time protection (even if I turn it on Settings). Looks like that Avast caused some problens here, or is a problem with malware? (Will try now the clean install to see if it works now)
  5. Hello, I've recently been having an issue with Malwarebytes recently (as in, just today). Malwarebytes' malicious website protection is repeatedly being disabled, and it becomes disabled again not too long after I re-enable it. I'm also getting a message that says that the Malwarebytes anti-malware database is missing or corrupt. I've been clicking yes and redownloading the database, which leads to MBAM scanning my computer, but no malware is being found. I don't know that to do. What do you recommend? On another note, as of 2.0, MBAM often gets stuck on singular files during scans for periods of about an hour. How would I solve this problem as well? MBAM used to only take 11-15 minutes to scan my computer beforehand.
  6. When I run Malwarebytes in Windows Safe Mode sometimes I get Disabled.Cryptsvc. Registry Data Items Detected: 1HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CryptSvc|Start (Disabled.Cryptsvc) -> Bad: (4) Good: (2) -> Quarantined and repaired successfully. And if I run it again...it looks ok. I later ran it again in Windows Safe Mode and got another Disabled.Cryptsvc. I looked at my registry and validated that it was set to 4 before I let Malwarebytes correct it. And validated that it did change it to 2. (4 = disabled and 2= automatic). I wondered what could be changing this so I tried various things on my computer in Normal Windows mode and kept checking to see if my registry and my services.msc had changed. Nothing I did changed this value from 2. Even when I went to Windows Safe Mode, just before I ran Malwarebytes again, I checked my registry and services.msc and it showed it was set to the correct setting of 2. So when I run malwarebytes it pops up with the same thing..the Disable.Cryptsvc change to 4 again. One thing that happened one time..just after going to Safe mode...it did a chkdsk..I let it complete and then did Malwarebytes...it did not show a problem right after that...but when I went back to Windows Normal mode then back to Safe mode and ran Malwarebytes again...I got the problem again. I think this might be a false positive...but I guess it could be a rootkit that is setting this condition...??? Hi there, I keep finding that when I restart my computer (I normally just put it into sleep mode), my MBAM Pro switches off the malicious website blocking and I can't switch it back on unless I completely exit MBAM and restart it again, then I am able to reactivate the full protection. If I don't do a full restart of MBAM, checking the box for blocking does nothing. I am using Windows XP SP3 Can you offer any suggestions please? Thank you
  8. An intruder gained access to my PC through remote desktop, disabled malwarebytes, then password protected malwarebytes so that I cannot re-enable the program now. I have since closed the ports on my firewall, turned off rdp, reset my password, run over 10 complete virus scans using several different scanning engines. I have removed the user profiles that he created and deleted the user account folders that he created. I have uninstalled malwarebytes and removed all registry keys and folders relating to malwarebytes. After re-installing malwarebytes, I cannot access any functionality in the program or enable the realtime engine because the ***** password protected the program. Can anyone please tell me how to clear or reset the malwarebytes program? I understand the need to keep this kind of "password reset" information secure and out of the hands of the ***** that did this in the first place, so if I need to provide some kind of security clearance, please let me know what I need to provide...   9. Hi, this is my first time posting here in your forums, though I have had your product for a long time now. A while back (few months or so) I noticed that the IP module was changed from "Enabled" to "Partially Enabled" and that the malicious website blocking box was unchecked. I tried to check it but it doesn't turn back on. I have followed the FAQ section K for the Avast! 6 exclusions and rebooted, but nothing has changed. I have run numerous scans and tested my other protection software. Malwarebytes website blocking seems to be the only thing having trouble turning on. I have Windows 7 64bit. I use Avast! Internet Security 7, Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 and sometimes clean up with CCleaner. I read somewhere about someone who had my problem and was asked to paste the scan log from RougeKiller (just the log, not to fix anything). I'll paste mine here in case that helps get the ball rolling. Please let me know what else I should use to get a scan log.
