  1. Today I realised after a malwarebytes scan that I have the babylon PUP infecting(?) google chrome. I have tried many tools including malwarebytes, avast, ADWcleaner, FRST etc to try and diagnose and resolve the problem but with no luck. I (think) I have narrowed the problem down to a single file: C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Secure Preferences There is a line in this file which sets a startup URL to "http://search.babylon.com/?affID=111434&tt=010712_4&babsrc=HP_ss&mntrId=6e7008aa00000000000090a4dea255ab""http://search.babylon.com/?affID=1114

  4. Hello. I've tried uninstalling Chrome, resetting the data and running the malwarebytes free version scan - then i delete the quarantined results and restart the PC. After rescanning it once the computer has signed in i keep getting the same adware.yontoo appearing in the scanned results. See below; How can i make sure i remove this once and for all so it doesnt appear again? I've tried the MalwareBytes Adware cleaner - that has removed other stuff but this Adware.Yontoo is driving me insane. Please can anyone recommend what i should do? Thank you. j4v3d

  19. I hacked at it for several days and followed these instructions. That being to reset all browsers, set sync and delete the ->google\chrome\default\ files finally malware bytes ran and said that one file was not deleted. If I remember correctly I had seen this before and it had changed names. It was "Preference Saved" or similar but not just plain "Preference." I went to it and deleted it. So far after a full day no problems. It was not "preference" but another preference file. I was surprised that Malwarebytes could not delete it but I could go in and delete it. I think it
  20. Earlier today I saw that when I typed in the searchbar in chrome, google would briefly appear and then would switch to SearchSixty, its a pest of a search engine, I searched my programs, nothing unusual, reset chrome, still pops up, full scanned with avast and malwarebytes, no issues were found, uninstalled and reinstalled chrome, still it pops up every time I use the searchbar, but not if I go to the google homepage, is there something I'm missing to remove it?

It calls itself "chromesearch.today" and has made itself my default search engine, and somehow managed to make it unselectable in the chrome settings menu (making it undeletable according to all the basic guides i could find) and also changed my options for all other search engines to only be "edit" or "remove from list", so i can't just make a different one my default. The way it works is that when I type something into my search bar it first opens up a url for about two seconds that looks l

  23. Hello everyone, My mother used my PC while I was travelling and when I came back several unknown programs were installed. I uninstalled every single one I didn't recognize but my Chrome is now behaving weirdly. It sometimes opens random tabs to shady websites when I click any link in trustworthy websites. Also everytime I open a page Malware Bytes gives me a notification that an outbound connection to "ssp.zryydi.com" was blocked. Please help! Danilo Addition.txt FRST.txt malware bytes report.txt
