  1. Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I'm here to seek help. I find Malewarebytes very useful because it successfully cured my Chrome problem so I registered for a premium version 3.1.2. Recently I logged in to my college's website to check for results through turnitin. I clicked on the link that led to it but then Malwarebytes didn't allow me to open it. Then I accidentally clicked the 'block pop-up website' option (or something) on the notification board and now I will never be able to see my results again. I tried browsing the forum to find the solution but everything is about managing exclusions, which didn't work. Can anyone help me with this? MANY THANKS!
  2. I have a problem with a pop-up that appears and disappears immediately. Unfortunately, i can not even see as to what the popup says as it's disappears withing milliseconds. I am currently using Windows 10 on a Asus laptop. My malware (Kaspersky Total Security) is unable to detect any problem. I would really appreciate if you could help me out with the issue.
  3. Same problem and even posted about it here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/201810-cmd-prompt-keeps-popping-up-out-of-nowhere-possible-virus-read-other-threads-on-it-w10/
  4. Hello, The problem that I am experiencing is that a popup window keeps opening for a fraction of a second, closing before I can see what it is. This seems to be happening completely randomly. Avast and Malwarebytes do not detect anything. Can you help me? - Tuinen
  5. Hi, I've been having a problem for the past week or so and been unable to understand or solve it. Once or twice every hour, sometimes less, at no specific times a small window pops up on my screen for a split-second and then immediately disappears regardless of what I'm doing at the moment (browsing the web, watching a movie, playing a game, etc...). I've read in forums and tried looking at the task scheduler and event viewer but was unable to find anything that matches the times of the popups. I tried recording my screen and paused the video exactly on the frame that the popup appears (see attached pic taken while playing a movie) but it didn't provide me with any information what could be causing the trouble. This is very annoying. I would appreciate any help. Thanks. Dan.
  6. This happens to me too.. Should I be worried? From what I can gather this is an error related to Microsoft Office. Not a Virus of some sort? I just couldn't be bothered to go through these steps...
  7. Hi Kevin, I'm dealing with the same issue as Dansh. I've already did all the steps exactly as you described but neither Malwarebytes, adwcleaner or EEK detected anything.
  8. Hello. I've been having the same issue for 4 days now.
  9. Dansh and kevinf80, I am experiencing this exact same issue. But per your instructions I will not follow the process Dansh was instructed to go through.
  10. I am having this exact same problem, let me know if there is anything i can do to fix it
  11. He Kevin, I'm having the same window pop-up every hour. Here are my two files as well. Thanks for the help. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  12. Hi - im also having this problem. Started a few days ago. Using Chrome. Something is definitely up.....
  13. Hello, im struggling with such problem for few weeks: Firefox browser keeps popping up automatically every 30-60 mins since i have accidentally downloaded some toxic file. It usualy opens with some russian betting sites (screenshot) or browser games. I've tried several anti malware scanners and it didn't help. (Microsoft Safety Scanner, IObit Malware Fighter, SUPERAntiSpyware, AVG and few more wich names i can't remember)
  14. Greetings, When I right click on the MB 3.0 Premium tray icon and click "Check for Updates," why does the program need to open up to show whether it is applying an update or if its up to date? In previous versions of MB, the updates applied in the background. Please add an option to display a tray notification rather than opening the program since it interrupts the activity I may be working on at the time. Attached is an animated GIF of the issue. Regards.
  15. For a while I've just dealt with this problem because it's only slightly inconvenient and intermittent, but I'd still rather it not happen. Occasionally, when browsing the internet, a new tab will open which becomes my current open tab, which takes me through a few redirects to an Adfly 'account suspended' page, as though it was supposed to redirect to someone's ad but the account was reported and removed. I don't have any Adfly or problematic extensions or toolbars, and I don't have an Adfly program. Neither Microsoft Defender nor Malwarebytes can root this one out. Any help woud be greatly appreciated.
  16. I was browsing what appeared to be a legitimate site using Android 6,01, Chrome 54.0.2480.85. The phone has Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, and CCCleaner. Popups are blocked in Chrome. Java is enabled. I do not download any software except that arriving by system notification (and of course, MB, Kasp, and CCC). There aren't any apps listed that don't seem to be legit. A popup appeared saying "Your device is heavily infected" etc. Scans by MBytes and Kaspersky were negative. I flushed the cache to make sure not to visit the site again. So far, no more popups. What mechanism was likely used for this attack? Is there any additional software that might help block or detect such attacks? Thank you.
  17. My Dad is experiencing problems with his laptop, so I am helping him out. You guys have helped me loads in the past with my previous malware infections. He has a laptop running Windows 10 (Recent MS Upgrade from 7) A few weeks ago he clicked a bad link on facebook ( a fake news story ), and he had a series of popups which disabled his laptop. In these popup there were ransom demands etc. Instinctively he pulled the plug on the router to stop the internet connection and shut down his laptop, after hearing so much about ransom demands corrupting your pc. He then turned the laptop back on and it appeared to work fine. Since then, his laptop is working however there are a few problems starting to show which I think may be linked to this malware attack he had. He has recently purchased a game, which requires Steam to run. When Steam tries to install Direct X it gives an error message and code. After researching this code it is linked to corrupted system files. When we looked further we found that he may have an infection called shopperz? We also found out that there are many duplicated of the directx files, where there should not be. We found out this from running System File Check Tool from Microsoft. I have also notice that the Chrome home page has been changed to some random google lookalike page, when opened Malwarebytes says Malicious Website Blocked. Domain anx.mindspark.com. IP Port 55503. Type Outbound. Processes Application\chrome.exe. That is where we are now, so I am looking to you guys for some help with this please. Attached are the logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool, as instructed. We have previously run Malware bytes. It found something once, but has been showing clean since. In order to run Farbar I had to shut down Bullguard Antivirus and Firewall, hence why it may show as off on the logs. Many Thanks, Louis Addition.txt FRST.txt
  18. Every morning after Malwarebytes Premium 3.0.5 does it's daily scan, it pops up with a PUM detection regarding Windows Defender security being disabled in the registry. It's disabled because I'm not using it. I click on "Ignore Always" and the next morning, same popup. Any ideas? If I can't ignore it permanently, then there is a bug in this product and needs to be fixed.
  19. G'day, This popup very infrequently appears. I've just worked out that it appears to be your icon in the corner. Oh, if only I had 20/20 vision. Do you think you could see your way to putting a clue in the popup's text as to its origin or to indicate what it's about, and maybe what action should be taken? Otherwise, it looks suspiciously like one of those fake virus alerts that try to get users to install nasty stuff "Our free virus scanner found (5) viruses. Click 'OK' to remove them."? -- Regards Ken
  20. Hi Everyone I am getting a pop up everytime I use Google search and I press on a link to browse. Congratulations Samsung User. Your Galaxy has been randomly chosen ...... 22. I made a mistake & signed up with a very sketchy online employment agency. They are known as ZipRecruiter.I deleted my account but now I`m getting ZipRecruiter popups everywhere. Can you recommend a good free popup blocker? Thanks
  23. I own a year of Malwarebytes and tried to run a scan to get rid of a the registry file that enters the command to open that website but it didn't catch anything. I also opened regedit and didn't find anything to remove in windows/run. any help would be appreciated. Read another older topic from these forums about another user changing the .exe file name. Not sure how that works. Please assist. Thanks.
  24. I was away from my computer for most of the day today; during this time the PC was in sleep mode. When I returned and logged on, I found 8 separate identical popups saying "A new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is ready to be installed. Install now?" What seems to happen is that the application pops open an alert, and then after some time passes it simply pops open another one, and then later another one and later another one, and so on. I appreciate being alerted to the fact that a new version is ready, but I do not need multiple popups telling me this. Just one single popup would be sufficient. I assume this is a bug rather than a feature. I googled for this issue but didn't find other reports (couldn't search the forums since the forum search was throwing up an error message). I'm using v. Premium on Windows 7, normally logged in with a standard user account (not admin account). The setting for "Check for program updates when checking for database updates" is checked. "Check for updates" is set for once every hour.
  25. Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the right place on the forum, but I'm sure you'll redirect me if necessary. I've been receiving very bizarre messages on my Android phone from something called "clean master". I've double checked and I have no such app on my phone. The most bizarre thing about this pop up is that it appears every time I connect to my home network! My Android device is the only one that has ever been connected within my home network, so I doubt I've picked it up from anywhere other than the internet. I should also point out that I have not once clicked on one just in case. How do I stop these popups? Do I need to remove something? Is this malware? Thanks.
