  1. After installing MBAE Excel 2010 Macros hang. The rotating circle indicating Excel activity never goes away. Does not affect Excel 2013.
  2. Salutations, I recently discovered of an attempted intrusion by a variant of the Kotver Trojan. You can find all of the relevant details here (this includes logs from MBAM, HitmanPRO, FSS, FRST, and Kotver itself). According to the technician assisting me, he believes it originated from an exploit ad on a web page or something similar.[1] This reinforces my initial suspicions that WinRAR is the culprit. For some time now, the application has been generating advertisements to convince you to buy a license of their product once the evaluation period has ended (AKA nagware). Malwarebytes' ha
  3. I Stopped MBAE using the interface in order to do a system restore, the system restore had failed and recommended stopping all anti-virus software (I have a few including MWBA), when I went to restart it after successfully performing the system restore the restart button was grayed out. Now MBAE loads but informs me it is stopped each time I start my computer and I cannot restart protection via the standard interface.
  4. I've been running mbae for a long while now and about a month ago it started notifying me of what process it was protecting whenever I launched said process. "Google Chrome now protected" and such when I opened chrome. These notifications come in the form of a popup speech bubble from the system tray. This is all fine and dandy but today it out of the blue told me that it was protecting internet explorer. Now this surprised me since ive not used internet explorer for over a year and that was when I downloaded google chrome after a full os reinstall and format. I checked the taskmanager and f
  5. I have 3 PCs on my LAN all running Win7Pro. All 3 have MBAM Premium, MBAE, and HMPA installed. This a.m. I heard my primary PC alerting me of window openings and when I looked, 11 windows for IE browser were opened on it. I checked the other PCs and they had the multiple open browser windows, too. I closed all browser windows, and see no issues. Anybody have a guess as to what is going on? These are stable desktops that have never had this issue before.
  6. Hello, Apologies if this is the incorrect place to post this, but it is more of a hypothetical question regarding MBAE's abilities rather than a support inquiry. I recently discovered an intrusion attempt by Kotver-variant trojan. I believe I have tracked down the source, but I intend to do a follow-up on the Removal forums. Can the free version of MBAE theoretically stop an exploit from a webpage generated by an application or would that require premium?
  7. My coworkers and I are testing MBAE in an enterprise environment. We have been checking the console threat view regularly to see what has been found, so far not a lot. Today I added a new client to the console and noticed that the threat count shot up from about 6 to 77. When I looked it said it blocked a suspicious URL however the dates were all from 2013, a full 3 years ago. Can someone help me understand what is happening? Thanks. -Nick
  8. We are experiencing the same issue as documented here below: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/178193-solved-error-0xc0000018-when-starting-apps/ The fix suggested is to remove MBAE and install version I don't want to downgrade my client... We are currently running version This problem is intermittent and after several (sometimes 7 or 8) reboots, the problem goes away temporarily. Please advise on how to correct this (on 175 remote laptops) without downgrading the client. At this point the only option I have is to disable the MBAE service, but
  9. Hello and thanks for a wonderful product. I was reminded via Email that my MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit Premium license was soon to expire. SO, I went to your (Cleverbridge) store and purchased a 4-pack of MBAE licenses. I cannot, however, find a way to apply the new licenses. As you can see from the attached screenshot, it is activated (current key obscured for posting) but there is NO Activate button. I want to do the right thing (well, I guess I did by purchasing the new licenses) and apply them but don't know how. With all the problems people seem to have doing so, I am loathe to uninstal
  10. im thinking about buying anti-exploit license, but i would like to know if there is way to get lifetime license rather than one year?
  11. First I started getting the message than MBAE had terminated. I decided to uninstall and reinstall MBAE. Now IE11 won't launch if MBAE is running. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.zip
  12. As the title states, MBAE for Business is detecting and blocking exploit code in Spotify. I just installed MBAE on the test system so this is the first run of the program. I have the latest version of both MBAE and Spotify. I've had no issues with Spotify in the past and MBAM and Symantec Endpoint Protection have not found anything malicious on the system or with Spotify. Would this be a false positive? I'd rather not make an exception for Spotify so it can be protected in the event of a real threat. Furthermore, Spotify is installed on many machines in the company so it could prove to be a
  13. 1. I have a mbam (premium) license. Considering $$$ mbae. I've noticed mbae checks for mbam running. Can these two services run with one license? If someone has purchased mbam why would they not want mbae anyway? So, why don't I already have the protection offered by mbae? "Because you haven't bought it yet you idiot!" Yeah I know, but do you follow? (See topic title) 2. Are there any unresolved product compatibility issues with running MBAM & MBAE with NIS on this: AMD A6-6310 APU w/AMD Radeon R4 1.8GHz 8GB 64bit Win 8.1? I haven't selected exceptions w/in NIS for MBAM, have both progra
  14. Im using Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit on a windows 7 ultimate 64 bit pc mainly protecting google chrome. In the advanced settings menu I noticed alot of protection options disabled for various attack surfaces. For example under application hardening for Browsers and Chrome Browsers Bottom Up ASLR Enforcement was disabled and for Crome browsers Anti-HeapSpraying Enforcement was disabled. Which options is it safe to enable and is it adviced to test this yourself on a trial and error basis or should I leave all the options as default? Any help with which settings I could enable without worry is grea
  15. Hello I have two questions about MBAE (free version). 1. Could MBAE technically prevent a program from working correctly? e.g. say if you were running Google Chrome for example, could MBAE stop it from updating correctly if it thought it was an exploit? Or maybe the way it tries to prevent exploits, could it hinder a program's operations in any way? 2. Can MBAE conflict with other anti-virus programs? e.g. say if Bitdefender Internet Security is running and detects an exploit/malware, who would stop it first? As won't they both be fighting to try and stop the exploit/malware? Won't
  16. Hello, Does Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (free version) slow down the PC in any shape or form? Even if it's a negligible difference. I'm asking this as we all know anti-virus and anti-malware programs do slow down the PC, it's impossible not to due to the way they work (regardless of what the vendor says otherwise). But is that the case for MBAE? Thanks very much, Transformers
  17. After reading https://www.malwarebytes.org/antiexploit/ (compare table) and https://www.malwarebytes.org/antiexploit/premium/ (browser components section), I want to ask this despite the fact this might be obvious for other people. I think that if MBAE would show both the number of shielded applications and the number of shielded processes would make things a lot clearer, rendering questions like this unnecessary. What is not very clear for me is that by cross reading from these 2 pages I can understand that MBAE Free can protect browser and browser add-ons not just Flash and Java but any add-
  18. Hi MalwareBytes Support, MBAE is causing Internet Explorer 11 on winodws 8.1 x64 to crash when opening. Internet Explorer 11.09600.17498 Update Versions: 11.0.15 (KB3008923) Windows 8.1 x64: all updates up to date. MBAE: Thanks!
  19. Something is preventing MBAE from installing. When I run set-up as admin, an hour-glass appears next to the pointer, like it's doing something, however, whatever window it's in, ( I've tried diferent places ), freezes up. Reboot to escape. Is there a special place I should dowdload the program to ? Is there some installation instructions I can see ? I had MBAE Bata, it expired, but I had no problems with it at all. Hope I'm in the right place for this.....some advice would be greatly apprecated. Thanks, Greg
  20. Shortly after installing MBAM and MBAE on this Win7 machine, I discovered that I was not able to print to my Brother printer (command caused Chrome to close). I can print from Firefox, but intentionally closing Firefox causes an error. Can't quote exact message since I am sending this via Firefox, but it's something like "plugin-container.exe stopped working". Tried to uninstall MBAM and MBAE to see if these caused the problems, but cannot do either: message is "Setup was unable to create the directory 'C:\Users\Joyce\AppData\Local\Temp\is-HUJQC.tmp'" (final characters vary with each try).
  21. Hi, Just started installing MBAE Corporate and rolling it out to my clients. About halfway through, I started getting support calls. Mostly minor, like Adobe protected mode and stuff we could get around but.... Now I'm having an issue where Chrome will not function at all if MBAE is installed. I have been using MB Pro with no issues. This is all my client PC's having this issue. It is seen on Windows 7 Pro and 8.1 Pro. No difference. We use Avast Antivirus Corporate and have had no issues like this before. What I have tried: I used the Stop Protection button in the client, no differe
  22. Windows 7 Pro; Panda Free Antivirus; Comodo Firewall free. I've started a new topic because the other of the same title is locked as solved. New here so please bear with me and apologies if this is addressed elsewhere. Just downloaded & installed the new MBAE program (v1.05.1.1014 Trial). With the Chrome shield activated, Chrome won't launch. There is a single entry in task manager sitting there (CPU 0) but Chrome isn't actively running. If I kill that process, deactivate the shield, then fire up Chrome again - all is well. If I reactivate the shield (whilst Chrome is running now),
  23. Just thought I'd let the folks at Malwarebytes know that the first two times I tried to start my Minecraft server after installing MBAE, MBAE blocked the server's attempt and binding to port 25565 as an exploit attempt. On my third try without making changes, I was able to launch the server. Every following time since then, I have been able to start the server with no problem whatsoever, but I thought I should let you guys know of this. My Minecraft server is not a vanilla server, and uses Spigot (Bukkit derivative) with several plugins.
  24. Whilst Anti-Exploit is "Running" Google Chrome takes considerably longer to initialise: First a completely blank DWM(/aero) window is rendered without any of the expected Chrome UI, see 1.png; Then a few seconds later the Chrome UI is rendered, but not the page or extensions, see 2.png; Then a few more seconds later, the webpage itself is rendered and the extensions start functioning, see 3.png. I do not have this issue when Anti-Exploit is "Stopped". I do not have this issue when Chrome is already running. Once Chrome has finally started everything works as expected, it's just the huge dela
  25. No problems with XP Pro SP3 up-to-date, Firefox 27, and Roboform updated to Ff 28.0, still ok... installed MBAE; the Roboform tabs still show in Ff but clicking on them does nothing...
