  1. This is the first time experiencing this error. Anyone have any idea what is causing this and what can be done to fix it so i can actually scan my computer again.
  2. that code comes up every time i finish a scan instead of the normal box that says it finished. ive tried turning off the heuristiscs engine and running a scan in safe mode with networking and no change has happened
  3. I have a laptop that I use sparingly for school and leisure. It runs on Windows 7 and has never given me any problems, really, other than being unable to play videogames. It suffices for email, internet, and schoolwork, so that is enough for me. However, one thing led to another, and recently after trying every tactic I can think of in my limited knowledge of the IT industry, I have come to the conclusion that my recent sufferings in memory usage, freezing during web use, and overall cpu performance are a result of some undetectable form of malware. After scouring the web for advice on how to proceed next, I decided to try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, due to its many recommendations. Unfortunately, I have run into problems doing so. Specifically, I can get no further than downloading the installer and running it. When I get past the intial confirmation and set up windows, the installation hangs when the installation progress bar appears and displays an error message that reads: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Chameleon\Windows\mbam-chameleon.com An error occured while trying to read the source file: Access is denied. Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation." This event only confirmed my suspicions that something must be deeply wrong with my laptop, and I now sadly view it as a child with the T-virus, waiting for me to lower my guard at the right moment to strike... I have tried the various workarounds known, like installing MB-AM on a clean PC and transferring the Chameleon folder via a USB flashdrive. In this case whatever is preventing the installation would also not let me paste the Chameleon folder onto my desktop or anywhere else. I tried running it from the flashdrive directly but non of the 13 Chameleons worked, they all marked "Tested" and had no results. I even tried manually downloading the MB-AM installer as a renamed file under a different extension, but this unseen force cannot be swayed and continues to deny my attempts and hold me hostage to its performance robbing ways. I have also installed SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition under the portable version and was able to run this successfully. However, despite removing over 131 different types of adware during a 25 minute long full-scan, it returned nothing else. All other attempts so far have proved futile, and I suspect the worst, a rootkit. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, otherwise my next logical step would be to try installing Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit. (attached is a screenshot of the infamous rejection screen I keep getting) Thank you

  6. Hello! Yesterday, I installed Malwarebytes to help clean up my PC, and remove any possible infections. I ran a scan, and it detected the many infections I apparently had. I proceeded to delete them, and was told to restart my PC. Doing so, I got a black screen for a few seconds with only my cursor visible, then a window appeared, titled "LogonUI.exe - Bad Image" I shrugged this off, just suspecting it was a 1 time thing, only to learn it wasn't, and has happened every single time I have turned on my PC. I pressed OK and proceeded, and everything went fine, that was until I logged on. I got a large amount of error messages titled (program name).exe (or different file types like .sus) - Bad Image. I did the same thing and pressed OK to all of them, and just continued on as usual. I later realized, this was a pattern, and happened with every single application I opened. I have attached a example image of what happened when I opened WinRAR. If somebody could tell me what is going on, and how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
  7. Hello, My computer was infected with Trovi spyware. I have attempted to manually clean the virus multiple times without luck. When trying to run MBAM the scan fails after 3 seconds with the error, "SDKDatabaseLoadDefaults failed with code: 2". I am running windows 7 NT. My research on the topic leads me to believe the spyware is blocking MBAM from running correctly. I have attempted the following with no luck. 1. Remove all AV software 2. Run MBAM in safemode 3. MBAM clean removal tool and reinstall 4. Chameleon mode (test 1 did find a malicious program but the scan still would not run) 5. Download and save MBAM under another filename on another device and run from flashdrive on infected PC. Any assistance would be much appreciated. -Matt
  8. Was cleaning up my computer and used malwarebytes and now i get "bad image error" every time i open up a program. Any help would be great to fix this annoying bug.
  9. Hi everyone! I have a problem. After cleaning computer with Malwarebytes, Windows is showing this error (in attachment). It goes away after clicking OK, but comes back again when opening any other program. What should I do? Thank you in advance for your attention.
  10. Original problem: it seemed like my computer had a virus of some sort (fake anti-virus websites ALWAYS opening and trying to download things when I was browsing the internet), but no hits with MBAM scans or AVG scans. Step 1: I read the blog and thought the Powelicks post sounded like my problem, so I downloaded MBAR BETA. Extraction went fine, but when I tried to run the tool, I immediately got a message asking me about a specific .dll file. The message (from MBAR) said it was probably a rootkit causing the particular .dll file (which I did not take a screenshot of or write down). The message box gave me a Yes or No option to remove that file immediately. The message went on to say that if I wasn't sure, I should press "No", but that if MBAR crashed or was unable to scan, to close and restart the tool, and select "Yes" the next time. I pressed "No", the scanner crashed, and I restarted it, got the same message, and selected "Yes". Step 2: I tried to run the MBAR scan and get the attached error message. What should I do next?
  11. This is my first post in MalwareBytes Forum, I had been using MBAE Beta for quite sometime till I discovered the latest version 1:04:1:1012 yesterday. I immediately downloaded this version in the same folder as the Beta version, my parttion D Drive. Thereafter, in the Event Viewer, I got the following error Faulty Application Name W Script exe. version 5.8.7601.19283 Faulty Module Name mbae64. dll_unloaded version Faultin Application Path C:\Windows\System32\W Script exe. Faultin Module Path mbae64.dll Event ID 1000 Level Error Task Category {100} I thought this problem arose since I didn't uninstall the Beta version earlier before downloading the new version. So I again uninstalled MBAE and then again downloaded the above version. The following things have been observed by me now. 1.All my batch files and W Scripts which used to work fast, have now slowed down by a couple of seconds. 2.The frequency of the above errors have come down, but nonetheless, still appear in my Event Viewer. Even my Reliability Monitor indicates this as an error and thereafter all my batch files/ Wscipts [ which are activated by my Schedule Task ] become slow by a couple of seconds. My questions .... 1. Should I unstall and again install in my C Drive ? 2. What is the reason that MBAE is clashing with WScipt on my Computer ? Can someone please help me on this Anshi
  12. In the last four weeks, I've seen a pop-up window with the message: "There was an error executing a required program. This program may be corrupt." and the address bar shows a file in my temp folder (currently: C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Temp\cks3550.tmp). The strange thing is this always shows a different .tmp file. This has probably happened 2 or 3 times in the last month. I click 'OK' and nothing happens. Nothing stops ...no crashes. I have a relatively new Dell XPS 8700 running Windows Pro and I've had Malwarebytes installed from the very beginning and my scans have been clean. Google and Bing searches turn up nothing when searching for cks3550.tmp . Anyone ever see anything like this?
  13. Whenever I try to run a scan, MBAM will ask to install database updates. Whether or not I let it install database updates, it will fail with either "SDKDatabaseLoadDefaults failed with code: 1812" or "SDKDatabaseLoadDefaults failed with code: 2". This same issue happens in both Chameleon mode and in Windows Safe Mode. I'm currently running Windows 7. (Ignore the Windows 8 theme)
  14. I've tried absolutely everything both on this forum and elsewhere to resolve this issue, to no avail. I tried to install MBAM even on clean, freshly installed version of windows XP SP3, both "real" (on laptop) and virtualized (virtualbox) and always encounter this error during first (or subsequent clean) installs. So it's not improperly uninstalled application, nor it is a infection (while that may be true in other cases), but rather an old timey problem of "DLL hell". MBAM probably expects one particular version of Ms visual C++ runtime to be present. My question is, which one? I did try several combination, but was unsuccessful. The problem only seems to affect XP, on 7, clean installation of MBAM did indeed resolve the issue. Thank you for your answer, but please, not the generic one.
  15. help. i previously purchased the program and now I'm getting this below when trying to open the program Run-Time error '383 'Text' property is Read-Only Thanks in advance
  16. Since downloading the latest update this morning, I have been unable to run MalwareBytes Pro. The Error generated is: mbam.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point _LogScan@28 could not be located in the dynamic link library mbamsrv.dll. I browsed through the forum, expecting that surely I would not be the only one affected. But it seems I am. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there a repair tool and/or replacement .dll somewhere on the website that I've simply overlooked?
  17. Hi, I recently discovered that something was wrong with my computer. At first i thought it was the hard drive but i recently come to believe that I've been infected with a serious malware. None of my ASUS drivers or software will load and I read it could be because malware is occupying the same memory my ASUS dirvers are trying to acces. I always get a "EAcces Violation error" I can't seem to get MBAM to open at all. As soon as I open MBAM it crashes. Sometimes It doesn't even load. I've tried all the Chameleon buttons and none work. I've done a clean MBAM uninstall and install with the MBAM clean software. I've even tried to boot into safemode with networking to try and scan. Nothing will allow MBAM to open without crashing. Please help, I'm desperate to get rid of this. Thanks and have a good day, Beemoe
  18. I am at my wits end here. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now, using the clean remove process. I have run in chameleon mode, I have changed the file name, it still won't work! I don't know what else to do. All I get is a windows message saying that the program has stopped working....
  19. Hi All, I am running old computer (Win XP 32bit, CPU AMD Athlon XP 2800+) and since release of version 2.xx I am not able to install mbam anymore. I have found and read related topic here: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/149909-internal-error-expression-error-runtime-error-external-exception-e06d7363/ After that I have downloaded the mbam cleanup utility, launched, restarted computer, downloaded latest version (2.0.2) and at the end of the installation I got again an error message saying "Runtime Error (at 69:252) External exception E06D7363" Older versions of mbam were always runable and worked fine. Is there any way how to install new version on older computers? According to your system requirements, Win XP 32bit should be supported. Thanks for help, Dan

  21. Hi, just downloaded Malwarebytes as I believed my computer was infected with something. Sure enough, after the scan it had detected many threats that other programs have not and I deleted them. However, now whenever I restart my computer, all of the programs that I use normally are displaying a "Bad Image Error" and many fail to start. Example: steam.exe Bad Image Error c:\progra~2\pc_boo~1\assist~1.ddl is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administartor or the software vendor for support. If someone could tell me why this is happening or how to fix it, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Kind Regards, Cashewmellow
  22. I've recentley ran into an issue where MBAM won't start. It's not from an infection, and I've uninstalled and re-installed it twice. I'm not sure what else to do. Any help?
  23. Hello all, Not entirely sure what's been going on with my Malwarebytes' setup lately. I recently re-enabled MBAE to test performance with a VM I use to see if recent updates improved performance and it seems a bit better, but since I have done so for some reason MBAM is no longer functioning. I have attached screenshots which show the report from Windows Event Viewer, not entirely sure what any of the exception codes or faults mean though. If the issue is not correctable, I will just reinstall, but I am curious about the cause of said issue. The following is a list of programs I use for security purposes: avast!
