Alright, i was doing the usual, gaming on my PC while malwarebytes was scanning in the background, when i get a popup that says it found one virus. I looked, it said it found a file called "PUP.Optional.binkiland". I immediately quarantine, delete, and do a bit of research. I found that it was adware.. which was surprising to me as i had not been getting any popups or changes in browser behavior. I followed some guides on removal, using adwcleaner, it found two more files, called "PUP.Optional.Legacy". I did some research on that, found only a guide to delete it. It told me to scan with adwcleaner, which i had already done, and scan with hitman pro, which returned no threats. So, my question is, what should i do in proceeding? Could it be a false positive? Remember, i had no signs of adware before this. Thank you for reading.

Hello, I have looked at various post on how to remove yontoo with Malwarebytes and it has come to this. I have followed the steps posted here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/214325-chrome-secure-preferences-detection-always-comes-back/ I went ahead and turned off sync for all 3 accounts tied to my Chrome, removed all search engines except Google, and RESET Chrome. I was able to remove 3 of the 4 infections tied to it but the one infection cannot be quarantined at all...... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I have also tried HitmanPro as I saw in older post as well. Thanks!

So ever since this afternoon I went onto one of my usual wikias for a game, when out of nowhere it started acting strange. It hasn't done this until today, and that's including yesterday when I last used it. It's using an excessive amount of cookies, and the domains in my Ublock aren't looking like they normally are. It even redirected from the original wikia, to a strange URL, back to the wiki. I have no idea what happened, and I don't know if it's because of the site or suspected adware. What makes this even more confusing is that it doesn't seem to be happening to everyone. Neither Malwarebytes not ADWcleaner is picking it up, so I think it's a site issue. I honestly don't know what to do in a situation like this, because it's only the sites that are "Powered by Wikia." Do I have Adware, or is this something happening to the sites themselves?
