  1. These popups can be extremely annoying and I don't know how to get rid of them. They popup at random and I would like to turn them off. (If it helps, I have already stopped my trial malwarebytes through account settings) Any help would be appreciated!
  2. The other day I discover Tab for a Cause that is a browser extension for chrome and firefox that will show some little ads when you open a new tab and then you can donate to charity the money of those adds, but unfortunately Malwarebytes is blocking this adds making the extension useless. When I first start using Malwarebytes I was using a windows PC and I got in love with it since it protected my pc without making it slower, then I change to a mac and at the beginning it wasn’t that bad but now it has really few options that you can change, I didn’t give it much importance since it didn’t bother me till now. Can someone tell me if there is a way to add an exception to Malwarebytes without needing to turn off the malware protection?, because otherwise I paid for malwarebytes premium for nothing
  3. Hello. I have trouble with I think Malware, my Mozilla keep open up a tab with ads eventho its closed or the laptop not connected to internet at all. I have tried using Adwcleaner but it just didn't work at all. Malwarebytes won't open and Malwarebytes chameleon didn't work at all. Please I need your help.
  4. I have ADS X malware installed, and unable to delete it. Each time I search for anything I get several extra responses at the top of the result lists, and a small almost imperceprtible "ADS X" text at the right where I can close that irrelevant results, but still the listing has several bad responses. MALWAREBYTES was unable to remove that ADS X , Malwarebytes is not aware of it existence. REIMAGE CLEANER detects the malware but I don't want to pay them for the removal. Why Malwarebytes is not detecting it but others do? ....
  5. Hi, I've been having ongoing issues with my PCs and network. Despite me having an active Internet connection my ISPs Tech's are unable to connect using LMIR. This problem has been ongoing now since approximately the middle of last year. I'm running Windows 10 x64 (should be fully updated,) however, I'm using a Linux Shell (ESET SysRescue) disc to make this post. I'm relatively familiar with malware removal, having assisted others many times on forums. I need fresh eyes to look at my problem please. I've run AdwCleaner. I have also run: JRT, FRST64, MBAR 10, TDSSKiller, ESET Online Scan, ESET SysRescue, SVRT, plus quite a few more tools, all to no avail. I have a fully licensed version of Malwarebytes Installed & up to date. I am unable to have GMER or ASWMbr complete a scan without ending up at a BSOD. Error is: IRQ Less than or not equal. FRST64 scans show ADS coming from zipped tools on my Desktop. FRST64 will not update despite it advising that an update has been found. The Desktop is Shared to Public. The first warning I received that something was amiss was a mass (hundreds) of WMI or WMIC warnings over a few seconds courtesy of Kaspersky Total Security. I have re-partitioned and reformatted my drives (SSD+HDD) multiple times along with multiple re-installs of Windows. Windows Defender updates show as downloading and installing, however, as you will see from The FRST logs they do not actually seem to be being applied. Malwarebytes Active Protection intermittently disables itself and I am unable to restart it without a reboot. I have also re-flashed the BIOS and updated the Firmware. The initial Spectre/Meltdown Patches have been applied. Still waiting for the latest patches. I strongly suspect a Rootkit\Backdoor of some description, especially given the inability to scan fully with GMER and ASWMbr. (Note: The initial "Quick Scan on startup of GMER does complete.) Other symptoms include: Cursor movement with no local user interaction. Documents closing for no reason. The HDD has vanished on several occasions, requiring me to re-partition and re-format it via Linux Shell. Inability to obtain and maintain a VPN connection. Several "Unknown User" accounts on some files when viewing the Security Tab in Windows. What seem to be intermittent DDoS attacks. Changes in Router Settings without any action by me (or any other local user.) Evidence of an Apparent work around for DEP (possibly ASLR) by utilizing Compatibility Mode. DLL Files located in various folders with the text reading Right to Left rather than Left to Right. Presence of an inordinate number of Windows XP and Vista files. On booting to Windows a text file opens from C:\Programdata\Startup called errorlog.txt which has always been blank. Incredibly slow Internet connections on a very fast network. Despite deliberately disabling OneDrive, connections being established to multiple OneDrive and SkyDrive accounts which are not known. Files disappearing for no valid reason. Anti-Virus appears to be working, however, on checking with Kaspersky following submitting diagnostics & receiving emails stating no problem was found, they tell me the submitted data was "Unreadable." Complete loss of Internet functionality at times, for no apparent reason. I have also found what appears to be a Ransomware Demand embedded in Fontcache when using Adlice PE Viewer. The payment amount was 0.37 Bitcoin. Also found in this file was the text string "This Dynasty." When using TCPView, upon starting there may be many tens of connections that rapidly drop off after a few seconds. Autoruns shows an IE Image Hijack. The version of IE reported by most diagnostic software shows as 5.0. Changes in location of the cursor whilst typing without palm interaction with the touchpad. There are probably more pointers that I've forgotten. I did locate the Malwarebytes reports, however, I am unable to attach them in their native *.json format. I've converted a JSON to TXT and attached that. I also noted that in C:\programdata I have the subdirectories "Malwarebytes" and "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Portable)" Thanks in advance for your time. It's much appreciated! Thanks, Mal FRST.txt Addition.txt Last_MWB_Scan_JSON_Renamed_TXT.txt
  6. I have downloaded a torrent of sims 4 game it was 16 GB so I lefted 2 days downloading after the torrent finished the popups websites on google chrome keep opening and cmd saying it is transfering files and there was written simstransfer.info and many process then navigate to copied successfully of two files but when I tried to capture the process so I can put it here it goes away fast to another in cmd and then cmd stay opened and doesn't go by itself .. I then close it by myself... I have tried many antimalwares but they did nothing although I saw the reports and removed malwares but the problem still exist, tried Hitman and tried them in safe mode with networking but still the same what I have noticed is that cmd starts poping up and so for the websites pop ups when startup and then repeats in different times through the day. I uninstalled utorrent and any of the recent programs. In cmd says that is from system 32. If I can capture the cmd proccess I will put here... and thank you.
  7. Hiyah! I recently decided to add lines to my hosts file in order to block ads due to the fact i cant block ads via steam web browser... My question is if it's safe to do so? Everyone mentioned this guys github and his hosts files: https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts Now, i added Unified hosts = (adware + malware) one... Should i worry about anything? I basically copy pasted everything what's inside it... Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi, I'm dealing with this problem for some time now so i decided to ask for help. I have absolutely no idea why, or how this happened but these ads are killing me. The internet is running really slow and the ads are everywhere. On youtube I can only close them using inspect element. They are in foreign languages like fckin swedish or smt, german, even russian. Please...help me.
  9. Every time I unlock my tablet, I'm shortly redirected to an ad (usually to dating sites or "I'm A Lucky Winner!" sites) even if I'm not on a search engine. When I hold the home button, then go back into the app I was on, the ad disappears. Virus detectors didn't spot anything. My battery drains faster than ever, but I'm not sure the ads are responsible. Nothing too harmful has happened, but I'd like to remove this problem just in case something more serious happens. Thanks!
  10. Hi there, my first time posting on your forums here, but I've been a fan of Malwarebytes for as long as I can remember. Great tool, it's helped me so much over the years. (and so far I really like what I see in regards to the Premium, I will most likely purchase it, especially now with this problem...) So here it is. On my previous windows installation (Windows 7) I got some really nasty malware that was loading ads from a bunch of different places, but most notably "adnetworkperformance.com". I downloaded Malwarebytes Premium, to see if it could fix the problem, but no dice. I tried running Malwarebytes Anti-rootkit and junkware tools, as well as Nod32, Spybot, Hitman Pro, and clean installing my browser. (I use Firefox and Chrome both, and both are affected by this malware) So I decided to finally upgrade (a fresh install, I did not actually click "upgrade") to Windows 10... as I was at my wits end and nothing worked. So here I am, a formatted hard drive - I install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, and shortly after installing Java (from Java.com / Oracle). Same with adobe flash player. There is zero chance that I clicked a fake on either of these, yet somehow one of the first things Malwarebytes starts blocking is adnetworkperformance.com! Maybe I'm mistaken, but this shouldn't be possible... this was not an upgrade, the hard drive was completely wiped... so my question - Would Malwarebytes be blocking adnetworkperformance.com on multiple websites if it my hard drive WAS NOT infected by malware? I'm not visiting fishy websites - the fishiest ones by far are facebook and cnet, which I've used for as long as the internet was a thing for me. It's fairly frequent when visiting a webpage that adnetworkperformance is blocked, and it depends on the web page... I never see the ads, at least not yet, because they're being blocked by malwarebytes / my browser, but infections from things like this tend to get worse. I'm at my wits end... can anyone possibly clarify whether or not there's a chance that I'm actually not infected by malware on a clean install? Where can I even start with a problem like this? I've searched google and tried every single solution I found except for manually modifying my registry. I considered myself to be pretty adept at using computers, until now... I have never had a virus / malware like this - how can it still be affecting me after a format? Any suggestions would be immensely valuable to me...
  11. Hello! This is my first post here. After some recent update (I THINK it appeared like a standard Google update of some kind) my Android telephone which has been perfectly fine for over a year suddenly began displaying unwanted popup ads on my homescreen. They appear randomly and usually run the same 6-8 ads each time. I have done scans with both Avast and Malwarebytes and NOTHING has been flagged or found! The ads consist of a couple of what LOOK like Google play apps. One is for my battery. A couple have the heading 'WISH' on them. Sooooo, could someone PLEASE tell me, where the heck are these ads coming from...? I download NO games or superfluous apps. My telephone is rooted and I have gone carefully through everything that is currently running and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Any suggestions would be VERY nice, thank you!
  12. So yesterday I got scammed and forgot to tick some boxes off when installing a pirated program I quickly realized it and stopped the process and deleted everything but something actually installed I removed everything and checked even overnight with Windows security from their website but still something is off when clicking create new on the desktop that's what I see I need help removing that. p.s. I don't know how to print screen only one monitor so the other one got shot as well
  13. Hello, I've tried everything I could find online to solve this, but nothing has actually helped. I do not have any malicious extensions or apps installed, I have tried resetting chrome, I have scanned my mac with ClamXav, Sophos Antivirus, Avast, Combo Cleaner, Kaspersky Internet Security, Bitdefender Adware removal tool and none of these found anything during the scans. Malwarebytes's scan found two things which it removed but all the rest, nothing. And every other scan with Malwarebytes comes clean. My search settings and homepage settings are all intact and there wasn't anything suspicious at all. But when chrome is idle for a while or I'm reading something on a website, there's suddenly a muted tab opened (first it was for a dating site, then betting, and most recently a clean my mac page). I also tried Bitdefender Virus Scanner for Mac, and it found a spigot extension for safari and quarantined it. The file appeared to be stored in ClamXav's folder for some reason. (I do not even use Safari, and when I checked before the scan, no extensions have been installed on that browser, and the same goes for Firefox). I've also checked whether the router has been hijacked (https://campaigns.f-secure.com/router-checker/en_global/) and everything seems to be fine. I tried changing the DNS settings to Google's, but it wouldn't connect for a long time so I left it as it was initially. It seems to have been passed to another Windows laptop at home, but when the PC was scanned with Malwarebytes, Clamwin, and CCcleaner nothing seemed to help and the problem occurs on both computers. Windows Defender found BrowserModifier:Win32/Diplugem and removed it, but the ad tabs keep coming. How can I get rid of this? Is it possible that the specific IP is targeted and it's not one of the two devices actually being infected? PS. I've attached the log file from Malwarebytes and from Bitdefender Virus Scanner.
  14. Hello there! So recently, about 3 days ago I installed a program. The program came with a suspicious "bundle" that just installed a bunch of crap onto my desktop. I knew this was not right so I deleted all the programs that came with the bundle immediately. So now for three days i've been getting pop-up ads, it is not like the usual one click ,one pop-up though. My problem is kinda similar in one way. The thing is that a new tab with advertisement (most of the time "hotchatdate.com" and "wonderlands.com") opens every 20-25 minutes . It only occurs in google chrome , I haven't tried installing Firefox or any other browser, but I have Microsoft Edge and everything seems fine over there. I should probably mention that i get popups even if i have the google web browser closed. I've tried so many antiviruses and anti-malware softwares, you cant even imagine - malwarebytes,ADWcleaner,Hitamnpro,AVG, Norton, and yes, don't even ask, I've tried the google extensions thing - nothing there at all. I've gone to control panel/uninstall a program - nothing there either. I think that I have to solve this manually. If you guys have any idea of fixing this problem, please let me know! Thanks in advance! -Alexander
  15. Hi I ran several times Malwarebytes, didn't find anything. My issue is that both of my browsers: Chrome & Safari keeps showing popups every time I surf on the web and some ads on the over the site. (I attached some screenshots) Also in the lower corner keeps loading some site: ads.contextweb.com and "loading" from other sites. This is driving me nuts. I hope you can help me with this. Thanks, JP ps. I deleted all my Chrome extensions. 16. Hello there ! After visiting a few suspicious sites, while being on the hunt for a Sony Ericsson firmware file I ended up getting a nasty surprise. First thing is that when I search for something in google, i sometimes (can't get the logic of when it actually happens) get a secondary search bar above the google one which is used as default, even if i try to type in the original google bar i get redirected to the secondary one. Even if I decide to use that one it redirects me to a yahoo search. I can get rid of it (temporary) by hitting the X button. But it comes back soon after. The second issue is that from time to time, after a moderate interval of probably 10-20 mins, I get an ad pop-up triggered by a mouse click anywhere on the chrome page. ANYWHERE. Another thing i noticed is that the on-click ad somehow sets up a full-screen layer that has a HREF tag to an ad site. Meaning if i open it in chrome HTML explorer I see it as an element of the page, taking the entire visible space, making it impossible to not click it, unless u manually remove it from the DOM of the preloaded page. I have tried 2 things , well more actually - Kaspersky default antivirus I am using found nothing - Malwarebytes found a file that was an adware, I removed it and restarted but the problem persists. After the second scan malware-bytes did no find anything wrong with my system. - Some Bitdefender tool for dealing with adware, also found nothing wrong with my system. - Tried removing any extensions from chrome that were unknown or weird (all I found were my extensions which I have been using for a long time), tried factory reset on chrome, tried re-installing chrome. Nothing seems to work. It seems to be bound to chrome since I dont have this problem in Edge (I dont have Firefox to try it there) So I come to you. I can give you detailed information as to what IP address I get redirected and respectively connected to when I use the secondary search bar, the thing runs in SYSTEM (PID 4) and in Chrome.exe (PID random) but not as a separate process on its own. From here on I am opened for suggestions. Thank you in advance and I wish both of sides good luck. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  17. This is my sec time writing this, I wrote a 3 page things but when I clicked to submit the site timed out and I lost it all....(logged me out as well) So basically, something Called Nine keeps showing up along with CTF Loader in the task manager in windows 10, I check on the location of NINE and a file called Salta.exe and a .dll file are there, I have deleted/shredded both but they keep coming back, my research on CTFLoader is that is normally part of MS office, which I don't have, I ran a uninstall prg for ctfloader and though it is listed as gone, it still shows up. what theses two items seem to be doing is going to the net and playing audio, sometimes ads and or music...this happens with or without a browser open. I have run avg, spyware spybot, and malwarebytes and though Avg sometimes catches NINE/salta.exe when its in memory and it claims to be removing it, it still comes back after a while. There are sometimes other files one called Wrapper(something I forget the whole name) that also might be part of it...but as there are so many things in memory in Windows 10 its hard to know (or why there needed, I miss Windows 98 or xp where all you needed was windows.exe and explore.exe) I've tried Hyjack this, but it gives me an error saying it is blocked from writing changes because of the Host file in system32 director, I checked this but the item in it that it asked me to check for was not in the file.... When CTFLoader is in memory, I open its location, and though I can remove it from memory, when I then try to delete it, it says my clearance lvl is not high enough to do so...
  18. Why is this search box (as shown in attached image) keep appearing above the google search. I think its a malware. I tried many anti malware software, also tried resetting Firefox, but no use. I also have recently links redirecting to ads. Its really annoying. Any help please? Also my you-cam app is running in background. I am afraid that someone is watching me through the webcam. So I am currently covering the lens. It would be nice if I could resolve the browser issue.
  19. I log on to my pc and hear an ad play. I check and it's not coming from chrome or any other applications I have up. So I check my programs and find MPC Cleaner. I try to unistall it. Nope. I can't find an uninstall program in the folder. I can't use unlocker on it. All the malware programs I try to run it says that their files are corrupted. Please help. I have muted my computer because of this.
  20. So I logged onto my computer adn I hear an ad coming through my headphones. I try to find the source and can't. I then look through my files and I see the censoreding Beezlebub of viruses MPC Cleaner. I've tried to kill it for hours. I need help, I've resorted to muting my computer so I don't hear those ads.
  21. This problem started on the 15th of March. I didn't even download anything. It just popped up right out of nowhere. Here's the problem. Whenever I go to a website such as Wikia, Gamefaqs and Nexus Mods (This problem hasn't happened with Reddit, Facebook, Tumblr and Youtube) A bunch of annoying ads appear and clog up the screen, preventing me from using anything. Details: An Around the web page appears on the right, blocking the scrolling bar. A video that appears in the middle of the screen, except because of Adblock Plus, it just stays gray. Any links that I click on, or rather anything at all that I click, it leads to some stupid advertisement in a new tab. And sometimes, the website it self cuts to an ad. These advertisements include: Reimage repair,PCkeeper, Dallas homes,Animal Jam, Bleach Online,Flash player updates, Spin the lucky wheel and others. And the worst part? No anti virus/malware/adware software that I use can get rid of it. Tried deleting programs from Windows 10 on the control panel. Nothing changed. Tried using Chrome cleanup tool. Nothing changed. Tried using Spybot-Search and Destroy. Nothing changed. Tried using Malwarebytes - Anti Malware. It did help, but only for one day. The annoying ads just reappeared last night. I rescanned it again using anti-malware but it didn't find any threats. Tried using adwCleaner. Nothing changed. Tried using Junkware Removal tool. Nothing changed. Tried using HitmanPro. Still nothing. All of these softwares that I used were suggested by Malwaretips.com. It did suggest one other as well as some softwares suggested by Youtubers, but due to the malware virus (Don't even know what to call it) I can't download them from their personal websites. My last resort are these forums. So please, if you know what kind of problem that I have, tell me how to fix it. I would like to know the answer as soon as possible for future work. Please and thank you.
  22. Hello, I've been getting pop-ups when going into my Steam Store page. The popups won't let me click on anything until I close them and when I do another pops up. It's a total of 2 pop-ups each time, and some times it only pops up when I click somewhere on the Store page. The popups are only in steam and I don't get popups anywhere else. It is effecting 2 of my computers one is a Laptop and the other is my Desktop. I've uploaded some picture of the popups and Farbar Recovery Scans of both computers in question. I have run Malwarebytes scan both quick and full as well as Ccleaner and Adwcleaner but none of these have solved my problem. I would appreciate any help you can give. 23. Hello everyone. I just signed in a few moments ago. The Anti-Malware program worked great in the last days since installation, but now this is becoming a more serious problem. I know what rules says about uTorrent and I believe it is the cause of the adware spam. Like a week ago I was searching for a soundtrack to download and found a torrent for it. At the time I didn't have the application so I downloaded it. After that, sometimes when I accesed web pages that were not Facebook, Youtube, or any derived page of Google, I would get some advertising (was it sending me to a new page or including in the actual page. At the time it was not so invasive but still identified it was an adware. Made a scan with AntiMalware, found some things and deleted them. Only last like one or two days when ads start poping again. I have made several scans and even if AntiMalware finds something the browser stays same. Worst part is that now I can't browse peacefully cause almost every page redirects me to any ad or if they load en the page they completely destroy the design and even don't show anything (just a blank space with the label of "by SOMEPAGE") and an eternal page loading. uTorrent is now unistalled but guess it just doesn't care now. I'm worried about this cause maybe it is taking a priority on my internet connection and even another applications that use it may be affected. Here are the logs of AntiMalware and FRST. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (if there is any issues cause of the language, let me know) FRST.txt Addition.txt was a bit large so it is attached. Addition.txt Anyone who read this post, thanks for the attention and sorry if there are some grammar/spelling errors (I'm not a native english speaker).
  24. Hi, A while back I was getting CloudScout pop-ups and ads in Chrome (no other browser). I did everything I could to remove them, even posting on BleepingComputer, but I just gave up in the end because they were intermittent and eventually disappeared entirely on their own. Now I have the same pop-ups and ads but this time they're marked "Ads by DNSUnlocker". My brother's computer gets the ads at exactly the same time as I do, every time. We're on the same network. Sometimes using Chrome's reset settings feature removes the ads for a few days, but sometimes it does nothing. I've run a fully updated Malwarebytes several times and it has found nothing. Your DNSUnlocker Removal Guide, as with every single other guide on the internet, is completely pointless and just annoying. I have never once seen any virus actually show up as an installed program. That just never happens, which is why I get annoyed at all of those copy-cat, nonsense guides that say to look for the virus in Programs and Features or Task Manager. Our internet setup is a bit unusual because of where we live. We have satellite internet, but it's too delayed (600ms to 2s of ping) for online gaming, so my brother and I have our own separate internet connection using a Samsung Galaxy S3 with a patch lead going to an external antenna. We enable the portable hotspot on the phone and connect that way. It's possible the phone is infected, but I don't know how to find out on Android. Maybe it could be the router - I guess I can test that by not bridging my network at all today (and therefore relying on the separate wifi network from the phone) and seeing if the ads appear. Whatever happens, I can't reinstall Windows. Not until I go to Windows 10, anyway. I have hundreds of programs installed and set up and it would take weeks to get it all back up and running again. Reinstalling Windows is always a nightmare. The following are the FRST logs. In the logs there are a few programs that I know seem suspicious; SoundSwitch, XboxStat, ClipX, Win7 Taskbar Tweaker, DisplayFusion and the shell extension that allows me to remove the shortcut arrows on some symbolic links are all genuine programs - but I can't vouch that they are virus-free. I used to use Acronis TrueImage 2014, but I will admit I illegally pirated it. I no longer use it and it's now removed, but it still has traces on the computer so it's possible it was the cause of the virus because it was pirated. I paid (quite a lot!) for a much better (and not illegal) backup solution (Bvckup 2). At the time of making the logs my network connection was bridged in such a way as to allow me to connect to the 3G internet but still access our home network and 20TB NAS for file sharing. Well, great. The ads have all disappeared. That's annoying. I wish they'd just be consistent. Oh well, here's the FRST logs anyway (hmm, was told the post was too long to post, so Addition.txt is now attached): Scan result of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) (x64) Version:04-09-2015 Ran by David (administrator) on HAROLD (06-09-2015 12:36:56) Running from C:\Users\David\Desktop Loaded Profiles: David (Available Profiles: David) Platform: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (X64) Language: English (United States) Internet Explorer Version 11 (Default browser: Chrome) Boot Mode: Normal Tutorial for Farbar Recovery Scan Tool: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/335081-frst-tutorial-how-to-use-farbar-recovery-scan-tool/ ==================== Processes (Whitelisted) ================= (If an entry is included in the fixlist, the process will be closed. 25. Hi guys, I'm getting ads everywhere on every browser (except for google chrome where I´ve installed some adblockers), on every website I visit, on Steam Client, on LOL Client... (take a look at the attached pics). I have anti-virus software (Mcafee) and I've got MalwareBytes Anti-malware and I've even used a lot of malware removal tools, and I still cannot get rid of the problem. Can you help me analyze my Hijackthis log?
