No Green/OK checkmark..., with Browser Guard?
Scottls replied to Scottls's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thank You!- I Really like seeing green/red check marks, and Chrome is Much Faster! I added this to Edge too (I ticked the allow other... option), even though it originally said for Chrome. -
Should I Remove AdBlock Plus?

No Green/OK checkmark..., with Browser Guard?
Scottls replied to Scottls's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Does this mean that Only safe searched sites are loaded, or am I clicking blind? -
Win 10 Pro, Google Chrome, Defender Primary/ MBAM 4.3/Browser Guard secondary. With my old AV's WebGuard's..., there were green check marks next to browsing safe sites, and yellow next to bad sites- This kept me from clicking on un-safe sites. With Browser Guard, there are No check marks!?- Is it supposed to be this way, or is it not working properly? I don't like this, and they should upgrade...!?

Win 10 Pro, Google Chrome, Defender Primary/ MBAM 4.3 secondary. I recently installed MBAM 4.3/Browser Guard, and see that Ads/Trackers are blocked- I have AdBlock Plus installed, from before, and feel this is probably redundant?- Should I Disable/Remove it?

"Exactly" how to install a new 4.3?
Scottls posted a topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I've had problems in the past with 4.2 scans deactivating my Webroot AV!- I uninstalled both/ran your cleanup tool, and tried McAfee Total Protection (Yuck!- Very Slow, and buggy...!). I'm back to Defender after running cleanup, and ready to install 4.3...- Do I install/close scan/reboot open Edge then Chrome, and add (I don't like Firefox) Should I Register it with MS, or leave Defender as Primary? -
You do a manual full scan(with Rootkits)/reboot, and 12min later get a Win notification saying Windows Reports AV/FW is disabled...- click to verify, and it's back on- I've been having this problem with MBAM (on-demand too) since Win-7, and changed AV's several times not realizing MBAM was at fault! :o( I will be doing a complete uninstall ASAP, so don't ask for any logs...

How to do a Faster Rootkit scan?
Scottls replied to Scottls's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I had MBAM Premium paid, and Trend Micro Internet Security both active/installed.- I started having strange issues with TM- their support informed me that MBAM active is not compatible with TM, and had me uninstall/reinstall with it free/on-demand. BTW- I had similar MBAM active incompatibility problems with Norton IS!- I mistakenly let their pesky techs log onto my computer, and really goof up my system! -
How to do a Faster Rootkit scan?

I have a Fast Win10 64bit desktop computer, with MBAM free on-demand only- If I just click Scan, it only takes 37 seconds. If I then click Advanced Scan..., and tick Rootkit/ C: drive/Scan it is Very Slow (only 2/3 done in 27 minutes, and MBAM is whitelisted in my TM IS active AV !). I finally Cancel/reboot... Then I get a "Buy MBAM" pop-up Nag (how do I Stop this?). How do I configure to get a Faster Rootkit scan?

don't like the new version 2.0
Scottls replied to twopointoh's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I was running the rootkit scan option (Very slow!). Miss the old Quick scan, that only took 2.5min! I'll try another scan with rootkit un-ticked, and search for rootkits with rootkit-beta (only took 5min!). -MBAM Devs should consider separating rootkit into a entirely different scan option, if it slows regular scans sooo much! -
don't like the new version 2.0
Scottls replied to twopointoh's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I don't like 2.0 either!- Uninstalled old free on a fast Win7 32-bit desktop, and installed 2.0 from MBAM site- Full C: scan took an ungodly long 54min (20min with old), with KIS AV temp disabled. Found 1 PUP in the registry, that a recent old scan missed. Did the same on my Win7 64-bit laptop- Full scan froze after 50min (took 22min with old version) on a windows img file ( it looks like it's scanning, but the files scanned number never increased (after a 20min wait))!? Tried to Cancel scan (not!), and X'd out (HD light was still solid)? Finally had to Kill the .exe in Task Manager, reboot and uninstalled it. I'll try their clean tool next, Then download a fresh copy? I don't know if MBAM is worth the Hassle anymore, if their scans are sooo darn slow!? -
Trial stopped working 2nd Day?
Scottls replied to Scottls's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thank you for the instructions as my MBAM pro Consumer download is not working well!?- It takes 1min 45sec to show on taskbar on startup (fully defraged fast computer/ high speed cable internet), and blocks any setting changes I try to make to IE9... I have to disable protection before making Any system changes too (defrag.../In ignore list...).. I am trying to use MBAM in place of anti-virus, but it's not working well for that. I tried MSE with MBAM protection disabled, but it also blocks most everything (Hassle!- can't disable it from taskbar). Q?- Would it be better to run clean.exe in Safe Mode...? Q2?- Would it be better to install the free version & register after reboot..., or...? Q3?- Ant suggestions on an AV? -
I fresh installed ver 1.51.2.1300 11/13/2011 (yesterday). Reboot and started trial (clean full scan, with one reported FP that your forum Dev replied would be corrected in the next update). I also did 3 clean on-demand anti-malware scans. Up until now I liked MBAM MUCH better than my old Buggy Avira Premium v12 (uninstalled pre-mbam & ran their registry cleanup tool/CCleaner...). Problem?- A couple of hours ago I had a hard system freeze while surfing with IE9 (also had a 1sec power drop 30min prior & all applications auto-closed/reboot)!? Monitor was on, but mouse & keyboard were dead. HD was still making noise. Hard shutdown, and 5min after startup I got an MBAM pop-up saying- "Error Code 02 Failed to open..." I waited with No-activity for 30min, and did a reboot. I then noticed that the MBAM icon was gone from my taskbar? I opened MBAM desktop/Protection... & Start Trial box was back? I clicked on it & it said I have 0 days left on my trial (only 2nd day)/Ended? Q?- How do I get the MBAM Trial back?

MwSnap is a nifty free screen shot program, downloaded from softpedia. After a full scan virus alert!?- I submitted the .exe to VirusTotal (see .jpg attachment)= 0/42
