  1. Whatever has invaded my machine acts like Antivirus software - I think it calls itself MS Antispyware 2009 evaluation version. Getting the usual "you computer may be infected" stuff and tries to run a scan while making it hard to escape out of it. Not sure if this is part of its deal, but I am getting a LOT of "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" errors, for all kind of things, both heard-of and stuff I don't know what it is. Seems like clicking "send error report" only makes things worse, "don't send" is better. Some of the things that come up in that window, in rapid succession, usually: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Verify class ID Windows command processor HP Solution Manager Module Logitech KHAL Main Process Microsoft© Register Server When I try to got to "Add or Remove Programs" in the control panel, to see if I can see wahtever it is there, I get the same box, but for "Run DLL as an App" Anyway, while trying to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (from a USB stick), I get one of these boxes for Malwarebytes having "encountered a problem and needs to close" a couple of times along with some of the others above, by clicking "don't send" each time, it appears that the install proceeds, I progress through the install, or so it seems, and end up at the "finish" screen. When I click the desktop shortcut, I get that same error message, so no-go. How do i figure out if there's a deeper underlying issue here, or just a really clever trojan? I used Malwarebytes last year with great success, but the symptoms matched very clearly the stuff folks were talking about on here, so it was a breeze. this time, I'm stymied. I know enough to be dangerous, but not that much computer-literacy-wise. Thanks!
