  1. I'm currently using it on my Windows 7 laptop and I must say it's been extremely helpful. So far, I have not seen any conflicts either. I would recommend it to make sure your programs are up to date. Also, I just realized this but if you have Avast Internet Security there's a built in software updater included with it. Although, it doesn't let you know about Microsoft updates unlike Secunia PSI.
  2. Hello, I recently sent in my laptop to HP for repair and they sent me a receipt. I compared their receipt to my documents and I noticed that the model number they gave me (LM332AV) does not much the Product number on my documents (LM720AV). Although, they got the serial number correct. Since the numbers are so similar to each other, my train of though is that a model number is the same thing as product number. Therefore, I was thinking of calling them before they put in the wrong parts but I'm not sure if I'm mistaken. Is product number the same thing as model number? Or am I safe because they are they diff? Thanks!
  3. Thanks, I'm gonna put it on quarantine and scan with Malwarebytes just to be sure there's nothing going on . I'll be suprised if something got through though, it'd be the first since I've had Malwarebytes Pro + Avast Internet Security combination.
  4. Hello, I recently scanned my laptop using Avast and it found the following: C:\Windows\Temp\WERFBA4.tmp.hdmp Is this a false positive? Thanks!
  5. I second dangerousclick. If you're curious about why a certain website being blocked, try asking MysteryFCM here in the forums, under the false positives section. He usually has a valid reason for doing so, if not he unblocks it accordingly .
  6. Hi there Robin. Please note I am not a staff member, but I think the bundle discount only applies at time of purchase. However, I know a site where you can get 20% off ($4.99 off) your purchase. It's on retailmenot.com and then search for malwarebytes coupon. Once there, you will get a code that you can apply at your time of purcahse on the official malwarebytes store. Hope that helped!

  8. Hi, This is not a really big deal, it might even be normal, but I've noticed that ever since the latest update, the Malwarebytes desktop icon takes longer than usual to appear on the icon tray after start up. Although, everything else seems to be in working order apart from that. My configurations are: (1) Windows 7, Home Premium (2) 64-bit (3) HP DV6 (4) Malwarebytes Pro (5) Avast Internet Seurity
  9. Hi, I ran a scan via Secunia PSI three days ago and it said that my Microsoft XML Core services is currently out of date. I tried checking windows update, three days after, but so far it has not been available for update. I'm a bit worried cause according to Secunia, this is currently being exploited by hackers. I was wondering where and how can I update it? Also, I searched it online but I got confused because there's a bunch of different versions and I wasn't sure which one I needed. My configuration's are: (1) Windows 7, Home Premium (2) 64 bit (3) Current program version for Microsoft XML Core services: 4.30.2100.0 Thanks!
  10. Hi, (1) "My question with this is will the firewall conflict with the one that comes with windows 7? knowone has really answered this question and its the most important imo" I currently have Avast Internet Security 7 and I have asked the Avast experts about this issue in the past. They told me that Avast's firewall is meant to work concurrently with Windows 7's advance firewall so I was adviced to leave both firewalls on. From my own experience, I have not had any problems at all from having both firewalls on. (2) "I also plan on using Malwarebytes, but i have a question about this. Should i also download an anti-spyware program as well as this? or is Malwarebytes good with spyware as well, i had super anti spyware in mind for that.?" I would skip Super-anti spyware pro for protection. Super-anti-spyware pro has very good detection rate, however, their prevention is relatively bad. I'm not just saying this cause I'm on a malwarebytes forum but if you want evidence just search super-antispyware prevention rates on youtube and you can see it for yourself. With that said, I would go with Malwarebytes Pro, their prevention and detection rates are great (again you can search on youtube if u want to see for yourself). Another plus is that Malwarebytes is a lot cheaper than Super-antispyware because you only have to pay a one time payment of $25 versus annual fees for super-antispyware. On my personal opinion, the best type of protection you can get is a mult-layered protection. For my set up I currently have Malwarebytes Pro+ Avast Internet Security 7. By doing this, I am able to protect myself from any viruses that either one may miss by itself. In simple words, if Avast misses something, Malwarebytes will catch it. By doing this, I have yet to get a single virus on my computer. In addition, you must also make sure you keep your programs up to date so I would suggest you download secunia psi, which is a free program that scans your comp and tells you wheter or not you have any outdated programs. I would also replace Internet explorer with either Mozilla firefox or Google Chrome. Both browsers are way more secure than internet explorer as they constantly update against the latest known threats.
  11. Hi, While searching for the US Marshall and the FBI online, I noticed that their official websites received a red rating from AvastWebrep. What is the cause of this, was there a breach or something else? Thanks
  12. Hi David, Thanks. Would that be ok to do on safe mode?
  13. Hi, I'm trying to fix my sister's computer that freezes everytime during start up. What happens is that once I log on, it will load all start up programs for about 2 to 3 minutes then all of a sudden it just freezes. I can't move the mouse or do anything other than unplug it. I tried leaving it on for a few hours just to let it load but it doesn't move and it restarts by itself. Although it runs perfectly fine on safe mode. The steps I have taken so far are: (1) I tried system restore to last known good configuration- did nothing (2) I tried disabling all start up programs via msconfig- did nothing (3) I tried chkdsk via safe mode- did nothing (i'm not even sure it loaded up cause when I restarted I didn't see the usual scanning process) (4) I scanned with malwarebytes pro and superantispyware free via safe mode- found nothing Could it be that the fan in her laptop is dead? I noticed that the fan is really loud when it's loading. I'm no computer expert so I didn't wanna open it and mess it up, any ideas on what else I can do? Also, is there anyway I can back up her files via safe mode just in case something happens? Thanks!
  14. Hi Physioz, Malwarebytes Pro is designed to support an antivirus program so I would not recommend it as a standalone program. My personal suggestion is a layered set up of: Malwarebytes Pro+ Avast Internet Security. Whatever Avast doesn't catch, Malwarebytes Pro definitely will. I currently have the same exact set up on my windows 7 and I have yet to catch a virus. Also both are very light on your computer resources and light on your pockets too . I would also recommend using Mozilla Firefox over using Internet Explorer because in my experience it's more stable and there's less security holes with Mozilla. Another bonus with Mozilla is the add ons you can download with it. I personally like Adblock plus to get rid of the annoying pop ups on most websites. For added security you can even download No-script for your Mozilla, but it's somewhat of a hassle to keep clicking "temporarily allow all this page" but it's a worthwhile hassle in my opinion. Lastly, I recommend downloading Secunia PSI, it's free and what it does is that it scans your computer for any outdated programs like Adobe or Java. Sorry if you already knew all this but I just wanted to help if you didn't already know .
  15. Hi, I also got the same IP Block, the Ip's that were blocked were: 199.27.135.184 141.101.124.185 I did reversedns on the IP's and they were linked to cloudflare.
  16. Hi Sho-dan, Att is just my internet service provider , and I just figured out why my bill shot up so high in such a short time. For some reason they switched me to Att DSL direct pro without my permission and without even notifying me, until I looked at my bill closely. I'm definitely switching!
  17. Hi, Can someone please recommend a good internet service provider for me? I currently have AT&T Home Basic DSL and I have not been very happy with them .. In six months my bill shot up from $29.99 a month to $37.00 to $40.00 and worse of all they've now put a monthly cap of 120 gb per month on my internet. I'm not sure what that amounts to but there are several people in my home and I'm not sure if that's enough. Anyways, can someone please recommend a good internet provider that will give me my money's worth? I feel that what I'm getting now isn't worth $40 a month because my download speed is only 2.25 mbps and my upload speed is only 0.42 mbps, there's gotta be something out there that's better. Thanks!
  18. Thanks Exile, I've removed it and I've noticed a significant improvement in my laptop speed, I don't know whether that was directly related to the suspicious log being removed or not, but I'm guessing it was. Thanks again everyone!
  19. Hmm.. I don't get it either. Would you suggest that I ignore it or delete it? Thanks
  20. Just to back this up, a friend of mine also has the same issue. We thought it was just an error but she recently visited a bad website and much to her surprise she got a notification that malwarebytes blocked it even though her trial was supposed to end a month ago. In addition, we tried a clean install, but that didn't do anything and the issue still remains. If I'm not mistaken she has a Windows vista, 32-bit acer laptop if that helps.
  21. Oh and I scanned it on virustotal, 0/43 found it harmful. Thanks
  22. Hello, I ran malwarebytes pro todday and did not get a clean scan, much to my suprise. It found the following "extension.mismatch" (attached below). I'm wondering is this a false positive? Also, what should I do for now.. ignore or remove selcted? Thanks! edb134DA.log
  23. As of 1 AM my Secunia PSI seems to be stuck and won't load at all. it's stuck at the screen where it says "verifying internet connection". I was wondering is anyone else having this problem besides me? Although, their servers might just be down but their online version is working just fine so I'm not sure if that's the case. Thanks!
  24. RIP Donna, didn't know you but after reading up about you I can tell you'll be missed
