  1. Recently been having problem with MSE not updating, telling me I am not connected to the Internet. Today I turned off the Self-protection module in MBAM - now MSE updates.
  2. Before you do anything else, restart your computer in Safe Mode - keep pressing F8 until it starts in safe mode. Then run Malwarebytes and see if you are infected. Then restart in Safe Mode with Network and update Malwarebytes. then run another scan. It worked for me.
  3. Anyway, that seems to have fixed it. Lappy started quite fast and all seems OK.
  4. with reference to my post above. If I open computer, and then go to Windows then System32 then Drivers, I can find mbam.sys but when I try to do the same thing within AVG, I cannot see the file. I have checked all the boxes to show hidden files as in your instructions.
  5. I've been having the same problems, but the instructions for Windows 7 do not make total sense. There is no "mbam.sys", although I did find mbamswissarmy.sys. I found the above sys file in both System 32 and also Sys WOW - do I do both?
  6. Just a quick suggestion, run your pc in safe mode with network until it's clean. It's no good, finding one infection, then trying again in ordinary mode. I cleared my friend's machine with Malwarebytes and she had about 10 infections, including one that was stopping her browser connecting to the internet. However, MBAM did download it's update, found the last infection and bingo we were up and running again.
  7. Unfortunately, I deleted it from the virus log before I realized it was anything to do with MBAM. It found it and then when I turned on the machine it told me it had successfully quarantined it.
  8. OK thanks. AVG has not come up with anything this time and this machine has had MBAM Free on it for a year or more. I will be interested in your response. thanks for your help.
  9. OK, have run OTL and hopefully I will attached the two files. One more thing. when I first re-installed MBAM I could see my ID and registration key under About. Now it's not there again? Should I be able to see it - or not>? OK, I can only find one OTL file? OTL.Txt
  10. Having had MBAM on my pc free for some considerable time, I decided to buy the Pro version. I went ahead and did this and registered. All well so far. today I turn on my machine, and AVg has found vbalsgrid6.ocx as a threat and quarantined it. My MBAM also was not showing my registration key, so I did a clean uninstall of MBAM, then rebooted and cleared my Virus Vault in AVG. Scan was clean. I then did a new instal of MBAM and entered my registration key. Now running and again a clean MBAM scan. My question is where did this vbalsgrid6.ocx come from. MBAM did not find it, AVG did - I just have this horrible feeling it came in when I got the coupon for a discount on the MBAM key?
  11. Hi, yes I'm getting the same thing, although the pages load fine. I have posted a new False Positive before I saw yours. Jean
  12. Hi, every time I refreshed or went to another page on www.marksandspencer.com MB told me it was blocking an IP address - 94.100.19.131 The pages loaded correctly but I wonder why it is doing this? Jean
