  1. I'm not arguing Just saying... They work hard, you can believe that. What suggestions were you looking for?
  2. @Marcin, Oh okay, thanks for that info. Just wondering if something went wrong with CNET. @Zach, These guys work tirelessly around the clock and adding the ignore list/context menu for 64-bit machines was probably not a walk in the park. Not to mention monitoring the forums and remaining one of the best in detecting the newest and most stubborn threats. Give them a break man Regards, Keith
  3. You all are redirecting to MajorGeeks instead of download.com now? Any particular reason or none of my bussiness? Regards, Keith
  4. Roy Jones Jr is still fighting??? He should probably give that up just like his rap career.
  5. I would go with Avira Antivir or Avast Home for free virus protection and Outpost Firewall for a free software firewall. I think most would not have any gripes about either of those suggestions.
  6. That topic seems fine... Or a bit more cleaned up: "not sure if computer is clean after Restore - still running slow". Just give a brief synopsis of what's been talked about in this thread and what you've done up to this point, including any logs that are asked for.
  7. Thanks exile for clearing that up for ZR1, I thought I mentioned that in my first post!
  8. Welcome to the forum ZR1PETE, Yes, you can remove items from the ignore list, then rescan your machine and put them into the quarantine or delete them permanently if you'd like. The ignore list is exactly what it sounds like, the item is exempt from future scans. The quarantine means the item has been moved to a secure place where the item cannot do any further harm to your computer. Regards, Keith
  9. No problem at all mountaintree... You can call me swagger or Keith I'll respond to both. Avira's help file isn't much help at all. Here's what it says about the 2 scan profiles: Same thing, am I right? Not very much help at all. I assume the Full system scan is more in depth though but I'd love for someone who knows more about Antivir to chime in
  10. Hello mountaintree, I believe the "Local hard disk" selection is any hard drive physically connected to your computer that isn't removable... A complete system scan would include all drives, including locally and any network drives that are connected as well. I could be way off base here but that would be my assumption. I'm running both scans now to see if I can verify that. I will update you if I find anything different. Keith
  11. Happy Thanksgiving all... Thankful to have a nice community here at Malwarebytes!
  12. This does look promising... Thanks exile I guess I could have googled that myself but sometimes I like having a human's opinion as well
  13. Hello Lipson, and welcome to the Malwarebytes' forum! Not sure if you are looking for removal help or an answer to why the infections on your computer were not prevented. If you are looking for the latter, you will need to wait for a staff member to answer you question. If you are looking for the former, please see below: We do not work on malware removal in the general forums. Please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org Regards, Keith
  14. Hey all, Anyone know of some good networking forums or sites out there? I browse dslreports.com every now and then but I'm looking for something that's almost dedicated to networking because that's the field I am currently interested in and want to get into eventually. I have my CCENT certification which is one-half of the CCNA so I know the basics for the most part. Thanks to any and all suggestions. Regards, Keith
  15. I have to say, I have been falling more and more in love with Autoruns and some of the tools provided by Sysinternals but what other program out there is going to monitor your HOSTS file, start up locations, browser helper objects, and scheduled jobs to name a few in real-time for any changes. All within a light resourced program. Can't beat that!
  16. Nice to see you found the root of the problem and that the ISP was able to find the problem on their end... You're right, exile is awesome. Keith
  17. Happy Birthday Still trying to figure out one of your tools but thanks for all you've contributed to the malware removal community.
  18. Woops... I thought you meant that as a prerequisite to being able to edit posts. My bad
  19. I use FileHippo from time to time, but a little less these days as it has been validly brought up that getting it from the manufacturer's website is usually always best.
  20. The first part of kpgumbo's post is correct. You need to have at least 50 posts before you can edit. This is to avoid people who are getting help in the malware removal section from changing their posts. Once you get to 50, you will have the 'edit post' capability. I hope this helps
  21. Thanks for chiming in Marcin, sounds better coming from someone officially involved who knows more about it
