  1. I still can't update MWB on my XP computer, What do I do now? I have suggestions for the powers that be at MWB. #1 there should be a setting that causes MWB to check for updates automatically when booted. I have to do this manually. #2 There should be an option that automatically checks for updates, scans, quarantines anything found and shuts down the system, unattended. Upon the next boot up, a report wound appear if anything was found. Autopilot would be a good name for these two options together.
  2. I connected my XP hard drive to my W7 computer, scanned it with MWB and found nothing. Put it back in my XP computer, installed the new 5/15/2017 XP patch KB4012598 and I still cant update. In my W7 computer, exploit protection was turned off after updating. When I turned it on it said "starting" for so long I rebooted. Then it was on.
  3. I installed 3.1.2.1733 on my XP computer. scanned, found nothing and I still cant update. It says ransomeware protection unavailable.
  4. The autonomous activity whenever a browser was open was the browser prefetching the DNS for all of the links in the current page. My Windows 7 computer is working correctly with malwarebytes 3 installed. It updates and contacts the license server. I still can't update on my XP computer. I am waiting for a new beta version.
  5. This thing has spread to my Windows 7 computer now with MWB 3 updating and contacting the license server. Malware bytes is not working for me. not preventing anything.
  6. My computer is back to autonomously visiting links in my private links page on my desktop. A html page with href links to everything I usually visit, like a bookmarks page. There are some links to sites that don't exist any more that I have not deleted. I can see them appearing in the web activity log in my modem, I can log on to the modem and view the activity log with my smart phone. That way I can see it with no browser loaded Domains show up in that log that look like gibberish such as qiqeopdp.domain.acdlstmp, d2tpbry8f62bv9.cloudfront.net.acdtdsltmp and d2tpbry8f62bv0.cloudfront.net I made a html links page with bogus domains such as biteme.gov. When I open it with firefox they start showing up in the web activity log, in order, immediately even though I have not clicked them. This does not happen when I open that bogus links page with chrome but I still get random google domains. Even with no browser open, I see domains showing up like login.live.com. I have never been there and I don't know what that is. Doing a hard reset on the modem did not help.
  7. Now MWB is coming up with malware protection off and wont turn on. Ransomware protection was enabled now unavailable. Can't update or contact license server.
  8. it still wont update. Should wondershare be disabled? MBAMlogs.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt MB-CheckResult.txt
  9. My current results: MBAMlogs.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt MB-CheckResult.txt
  10. I installed 3.1.1.1722 which did not help. I ran TTDSS killer which found a few things. I ran KVR which found a few things but I still can't update. I no longer get the "unable to contact update server" error message but I still get the "unable to contact to license server" error. I no longer get the steady stream of activity related to my personal internal bookmarks page on my modem activity log which seems to be showing normal activity now.
  11. I started this topic and my last post was on my current status. Am I supposed to start over with the newer 1722 version?
