  1. sjpritch25 Indeed Sir,you have spoke your mind, And while I in ever way disagree with you,I respect your view. once more, thank you for all assistance.
  2. That is more than enough. while I will never use malwarebytes antimaleware in the future,as I do not trust it,nor feel in any way comfortable with it,I feel the forum is staffed with those deserving of the highest respect due to their loyality to there forum, even if the software is beneth them. thank you ypestis
  3. No what I expect is for any software (a few baby steps out of BETA stage) not to generate false positives in Windows System files, that if removed lead to a broken system. But of course this is the software of experts.Just ask Wilders. It is sad to see that even after JeanInMontana scuttled off like a scalded dog,the hatefull, smartass attitude she represented is alive and well on your forums.
  4. Ok,Even though no one could be troubled to reply to my post, They did reply to one after mine, and it seems to be a false positive despite the statement of GT500: "Normally, when MBAM complains about beep.sys, it means beep.sys is infected." Well,ab-normal happens. Now I remember why I removed this software from my system the last time.
  5. early this afternoon I updated Malwarebytes, and this came up on my scan: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.33 Database version: 1709 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 1/30/2009 1:55:36 PM mbam-log-2009-01-30 (13-55-25).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 46689 Time elapsed: 1 minute(s), 40 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\beep.sys (Trojan.Patched) -> No action taken. Becasue of the location of the file,I was afraid to quarantine it without advise, so I had to leave for awhile, and after my return,I updated Malwarebytes, and re-ran the scan, with nothing found: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.33 Database version: 1710 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 1/30/2009 4:37:16 PM mbam-log-2009-01-30 (16-37-16).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 46822 Time elapsed: 33 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Was this a false positive corrected by update,or has the malware hidden itself? thank you
  6. I really hope this isnt going to be a thread closed because the op does not respond. on another machine, years ago I had a similar thing, only the voice said "HELLOOO"! at random times. I was too Newbiefied to be worried,of course at that time I ran Windows ME with no firewall, and a Norton subscription a couple of years expired,so God knows what I had on board.
