  1. Just recently MBAM identifies and blocks site outgoing due to Trojan. I get this message in Chrome & Edge. It happens when trying to connect to the Washington Post crosswords.

It is identified in Chrome and is: Cdn1.amuselabs.com, in Google program file (X64). But when I do a MBAM Scan, it finds nothing. I uninstalled Chrome, reinstalled, but get the same thing.  Site blocked due to a trojan.       https://www.washingtonpost.com/crossword-puzzles/daily/?utm_term=.26dee4cc948f

Let us get a clean install of the current version. 3.3.1

We have another tool called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

    1. After downloading the tool run the tool.

    2. The tool will automatically clean up the older possibly damaged installation and will ask you for a restart.

    3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product .

    4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.

    5. Now you will have the latest product installed. If it does not offer the new install after the reboot you can download and install from here.

Please let me know if you are still seeing issues after the latest product install.

I keep a downloaded copy of MBAM Install. I simply reinstall, no need for cleanup tool. It corrects the problem, but why is it happening to begin with ? This is 2nd time in month. Fix your product !

  3. I was  online at Washington Post crossword site (Chrome Browser) when Computer screen went black, and system rebooted. When it came back up, Web Protection was turned off. Attempts to turn it back on via settings, and the MBAM warning popup were unsuccessful. It would turn on for seconds, and then revert back to OFF.  I quit Malwarebytes, and restarted it. Web protection was on for a few minutes, then went back off. I  then einstalled Malwarebytes to correct the problem I reported this setting problem days ago under ticket# 2127594, but never heard back. Also did scans for Virus and found nothing.

  4. I don't know what else I can explain. I have used Malwarebytes site for years to get my license keys, download etc, but now the page has changed completely. When I go to malwarebytes.com, there is a logon for Employees, and next to that a "Coming Soon" logon for Users ! I tried logging on there with my user name and logon password I have used for years on end, but can't log in.

    MBAM login screen.jpg

  5. What is going on with the login at malwarebytes.com ? It has Employee logon, and then Coming Soon login for users, which I cannot log into, and there is no button to request password reset or anything to help me login. The entire screen has changed format since I previously had use of it !

  6. Can someone explain what mbam.exe purpose is, and why, on a daily basis, and sometimes multiple times daily, it utilizes 99% of CPU and locks system up until deleted in task manager ?

2.4gHz processor, 4GB Memory, Running XP.

    Premium 2.2.0.1024

And if you are going to tell me to start by downloading  and installing most recent Version , then running vrious scans, forget it. My system is not compromised.

  7. Yesterday, I ran Chameleon, but the mbam-killer phase timed out, then mbam-killer exited.

A scan ensued, but not confident it is legit because of mbam-killer not completing

When I went back to find Chameleon again, I could not find it, and I have no search capability to find it.

    I looked in

    documents&dettings

    all users

    application data

    malwarebytes

    malwarebytes antimalware

  8. More info I inadvertently posted in error elsewhere:

Dell GX270 Optiplex 3gb Ram running Windows XP Pro preinstalled, so I have no CD.

Hello: I am a long time user of MBAM, and am returning to the Experts for HELP !

Although I used AVAST Internet Security as well as MBAM Premium (I guess it is called now) I seem to have picked up malware/virus. I have a Windows repair tool from Tweaking.com I want to run, and it sets the safe boot switch to run in safe mode. When the system restarts, it says "safe Mode" at bottom of screen, and one can see the drivers being loaded, then a short pause occurs, then the DELL flash screen pops up, and the boot into safe mode starts all over again, and again etc.  The same happens if one presses the F8 key to manually enter Safe mode. And, the boot.ini is not set for safeboot; it is set for fast detect, without safeboot.

    What I have Done

I was working with "Stefan" previously to try to resolve, but to no avail.

I have reloaded and run MBAM scans - No Threats found.

Chameleon - No threats found. But after running I was unable to get back to the folder where Chameleon was located, or I just couldn't find it again !

Ran Dr Web Cureit - Nothing found

Ran Rogue Killer - Removed PUP, PUM registry entries.

Burned and ran Kapersky Rescue Disk 10 yesterday - No threats found.

Saved a doc to desktop, but even with refresh of desktop, it does not appear; but resave the

same doc name, and it appears on the save screen  and asks to overwrite it.

I run with task mgr active and although system idle shows like 95% the system get unresponsive for a while. Sometimes task mgr shows 00 for all processes, but can't do anything.
