  2. I installed MBAM on my desktop and kicked off a full system scan (total of 8 drives, about 7TB of storage), I could see that it was scanning my system and just in the registry and C drive two items had been found. While it was scanning I continued to work on other things and use FireFox (which I'm now using on this system). I just switched back to MBAM and all I can now see is a white window and when I mouse over the window it changes to an hour glass. Using Sysinternals Process Explorer (I'm not a expert with this by a far cry) I can see that MBAM is hung, so I killed it and then restarted the full scan but this time I deselected all drives except for the C drive. As soon as MBAM discovered one infection (in less than a minute) I aborted the scan and removed the infection, following is the log: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.31 Database version: 1593 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 1/2/2009 01:06:04 mbam-log-2009-01-02 (01-06-04).txt Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|) Objects scanned: 24871 Time elapsed: 1 minute(s), 15 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 1 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{daed9266-8c28-4c1c-8b58-5c66eff1d302} (Search.Hijack) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) I've now started another scan. After just under 4 minutes another infection was found. Again I aborted the scan and removed the infection, following is the log. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.31 Database version: 1593 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 1/2/2009 01:10:38 mbam-log-2009-01-02 (01-10-38).txt Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|) Objects scanned: 31976 Time elapsed: 3 minute(s), 47 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: C:\Documents and Settings\jgt\Application Data\Desktopicon\eBayShortcuts.exe (Trojan.Agent) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. I just restarted a third scan but I'm going to bed and hopefully it will scan the entire C drive. If this runs OK then I will scan another drive and continue until I scan my full system. Any suggestions?
  3. You need to create a bootable CD using a clean PC and have you AV software on it. Two options that I'm aware of are BartPE (see BartePE website) or Spybot bootcd (see Spybot Boot CD A few months ago I did a really stupid thing and installed a virus that took over my PC and I was forced to format the HD and start all over. I'm still installing applications that were on the PC. Good luck!
  4. Any projected date as to when a 64 bit version will be available? Do you need any beta testers? My new 64 bit PC should arrive next week and I'm anxious to install protection applications.
  5. I've just downloaded, installed and kicked off a full system scan. I can see the progress and elapsed time but it would be super nice if a predicted finished time (HH:MM) were also included. I use SpinRite for HD maintenance and after running for one minute it post the projected finish time (HH:MM, 22:15, meaning it is estimated that it will complete the run in 22 hours and 15 minutes). The projected finished time is restimated and posted as it runs. This is very helpful for me and allows me to determine what action(s) I want to take based on the remaining run time. I realize that the posted remaining time is not 100% accurate but a good estimate would that is updated would be very helpful. One system I'm testing on has about 9TB of storage and I have no idea if the run will take hours, days, or weeks.
