  1. I've also read the posting at https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/191650-malwarebytes-30-frequently-asked-questions/#comment-1077438 and it also (IMHO) clearly states that MBAM 3 does it all. I also agree that much of the testing for viruses is questionable plus fighting virus and other attacks is a huge moving target. Thus at this time I have a few questions. Does MABM 3+ contain all of the Malwarebytes products such as Anti-Exploit, Anti-Malware, Anti-Ransomware, Anti-Rootkit? If the answer is yes I'm willing to use one of my older systems and just run MABM 3 on it. This of course will NOT answer the big question, e.g. will MBAM 3 give me the total question but it does help move me in that direction. What about running SuperAntiSpyware. Currently on my systems I run Kaspersky, MBAM 3 and SuperAntiSpyware. I will admit that I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do consider myself more knowledgeable than most computer users. However I often ask novice questions to help ensure I understand and to help in an area where my skills are lacking.
  2. On the webpage for Malwarebytes 3 as I understand the statement "MAKES ANTIVIRUS OBSOLETE" it now replaces my AV. Is this a correct statement? I'm currently running Kaspersky Total Security 2017 as my AV. I'll be happy to uninstall it if this is a true statement.
  3. I just stopped v3.0.6 and now it will not start. I get msg "Unable to connect the Service". I tried twice with the same results.
  4. I'm currently running v3.0.6 on Win10 Creators x64. In the Settings I've attempted to turn on Web Protection. It shows that it is starting but this has been true for the last 24 hours.
  5. OK I gave up on the beta, it is reporting too many false positives.
  6. Much thanks for removing the incorrect image but the correct image was also removed. BTW when I click Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes > Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware the main MAR window does not open on my Win10 x64 system. My system is a clean install of Win10 that I'm still working on to complete the install. 2016 0129 logs.rar 2016 0129 Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware.rar
  7. OH Darn, I attached the wrong image, the following is the correct image. I don't see an option to edit my post and remove the incorrect image.
  8. IMHO there are several things wrong with MAR Not integrated into another Malwarebytes application. Sorry but my simple mind is too confused by all the different Malwarebytes product. I want one product that does it all. I realize this is a beta but that does justify all the different Malware products. I get a false positive for SyncbackPro.exe. I see the MAR window in the lower right corner and clicking on the window does nothing. I expected to click on the window, open MAR and be able to add SyncBackPro.exe to an exclusion list. The popup states that the ransomware was moved to Quarantine but it does NOT tell me where the Quarantine is or how to reverse the action. Using the search tool Everything, I searched for "SyncbackPro.exe" on the C drive and cannot find a Quarantine folder containing SyncbackPro.exe I then tried to open MAR and could not. IMHO MAR is Alpha code not Beta.

  10. I submitted a reply but I don't see it posted. I was attempting to turn off the check for Adobe updates. I prefer to perform update check on my schedule rather than the software doing it for me.
  11. Before running Rogue.exe I attempted to kill everything running in the foreground and background via the task manager. There were some items that I thought to be necessary but I'm not sure, I left these running. Following is the log. It appears that I still have more clean up to perform regarding applications that were installed while the laptop was loaned out. I'm attempting to work on this but it will be a slow process for me. 12. OK dummy me ran the scan on the wrong system. The new scan is attached (this time I ran it on the correct system). I had loaned my laptop to a friend and several different people were working on it now I'm attempting to get back to normal and hopefully I will not have to rebuild the system from scratch by formatting the HD and reloading everything. 13. I've noticed over the last several weeks PUP.Optional.Superfish.A Keeps ComingBack I also read the post at https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/153291-pupoptionalsuperfisha-keeps-comingback/ I downloaded Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and ran the scan The three files created by the scan are attached. 14. Gee wiz - I thought I had looked for that...... When I right-click the list is rather long, I must have just overlooked it. Thanks!!!!
  15. Is it possible to scan a folder or file? If its I cannot determine how. If it is not possible I'd like to see it added as a feature. I often receive files from other people or download files from newsgroups and I'd like to scan them before I take any action with them.
  16. I would like for Malwarebytes to remember the window sizes, position and the column sizes. Personally I really find it annoying to continually resize the windows, columns and window position. Thus it would be super nice if they were remembered from the previous usage.
  17. MB (v1.41) seems to be doing a great job of blocking suspicious IP address (I see the pop-ups in the systray area) and I have a few questions. Where can I get additional info about the address? I looked in the log files and I do not see the IP address that were blocked. What application is attempting to access the IP address? If I knew which application is attempting to access the IP address I might want to remove the application.
  18. Currently there is a "Time elapsed" timer, it would be nice to see "Estimated Time Remaining". This can often help me make a decision as to what action I'm going to take based on the remaining time for a scan.
  19. ops, I see that I do have an option to select the desired drive when I kick off a full scan.... but I do like the idea of a pop-up when I add a new drive.
  20. I'm often testing various configurations on my system where I will attach a drive for some test (internal, or external USB or eSATA) I'd like to have an option that I could scan just the drive I added. Sometimes I have 20 drives attached to my system and it is not necessary to scan all 20 drives if 19 have already been scanned. I currently use Kaspersky 2010 as my AV and it has this function. Example, I plug in any USB drive or thumb drive it will pop-up a window asking if I want to scan the drive. In todays world thumb drives float from system to system and it is so easy to pick up something from an infected system, this auto scanning pop-up is an excellent layer of protection.
  21. I'm all for no pop-ups when the update is applied. I'd like to be able to verify that an update was applied by looking at the log but other than that I don't want to be bothered.
  22. It would be nice to have a pause and resume feature in MB. Last night I kicked off a full scan and after 9 hours it had not completed and I needed to reboot my system thus it was necessary for me to close MB. I just looked at MB and it does not seem to know anything about the scan therefore I need to rerun the total scan. It would be nice if there was an option to "pause for reboot" the scan and after a reboot I could resume the scan. Along a similar line in the options I can currently set the time of day I want a scan to start but I cannot set a window of time. Example, I want a full scan to start on Monday at 0300 hours. If the scan has not finished by 0800 it goes into a pause state until the next day and at 0300 it resumes. It would continue this cycle until the scan was completed. If the system is rebooted anytime before the scan is competed it would be able to resume the scan at 0300.
  23. It would be nice to have a link in the nav pane on the main Malwarebytes website.
  24. Suggestion - create a sign-up list for interested parties, then it would be easy for you to notify the people interested in the alpha/beta testing.
  25. What are your thoughts regarding AV stuff for Vista 64 bit OS? Next week I should receive my new laptop with Vista 64 bit. I want the 64 bit for the >3GB of memory support. Suggestions? I plan to max out the laptop with 8GB of real memory, two 350 GB HDs and then run several virtual machines on it, unless the 64bit will allow me to run everything under one installation. Hopefully later this year I'll build a new server/desktop and it will have a 12TB RAID 6 array. I run the MS office (2007) suite along with a ton of other applications and it is not uncommon for me to have 20-50 or more windows open at the same time. With WinXP Pro I hit the wall and at some point I notice applications are not quite right and it is time for a reboot. Hopefully Vista 64 will eliminate this problem for me. Suggestions?
