  1. My computer is infected with the Google Redirect Virus. I have run through several different protocols for the past 5 days. I have eliminated the virus 3 or 4 times and Google works properly but the next day the virus is back. I removed the Restore files day before yesterday. When I do a Google search then click on one of the entries I get a new list of search results and even when I click on one of those I don't get it. I used the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software tonight and got rid of the virus for about ten minutes, then it came back again. When I open device manager I don't find any entries that have extensions. I'm told to look for one that says TDSS.sys (not sure of the initials but it had a sys extension) have I not properly opened device manager? Tonight, while Google was working for ten minutes I tried to download Google Chrome because an IT friend (obviously I'm not an IT person) said it was a safer browser but I couldn't get that working either. I need to get rid of this virus - what can I do? Thanks in advance.
