  1. Hello, It looks like quite a few people have this problem. I ran a quick search with Malwarebytes as my computer has had quite a few problems with spyware etc lately. It found 9 problems and fixed, quarantined and/or deleted them. It requested that I restart, and since then, I can't connect to the internet with Firefox, IE or Microsoft Outlook. It does look like the computer is very much connected, except that the different programs can't receive the internet at all. I tried to ping yahoo.com using the DOS prompt, and it's not connecting there either. I went into the control panel, and at least at this point, Use Proxy Server is not checked. It looks like two of the things fixed or changed by Malwarebytes that might have an effect on the internet working are... Under Registry Values Infected - In the HKEY_CURRENT_USER... Under Internet Settings\ProxyServer (PUM.Bad.Proxy) -> value: ProxyServer -> Quarantined and Deleted successfully and...Under Registry Data Items Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\NamServer (Trojan.DNSChanger) -> Bad: (93.188.164.148.93.188.160.88) Good: () Quarantined and Deleted Successfully. There was a similar infected item after Parameters\Interfaces instead of Nameserver... that was also Quarantined and Deleted successfully. I found one possible solution that didn't work which said I should go to the DOS Command Prompt and type in netsh winsock reset (enter) which said I should then restart. There was a second command it said I should enter: netsh int ip resetlog.txt, but that didn't appear to be a good command. Anyway, I restarted the computer, and still can't get online, even though there appears to be no problem with the computer having connectivity. I hope someone can help me. It's very unusual that another computer in our office is available for me to use while mine isn't working. Thanks in advance for your help! Arnie arnie88k
