  1. I went into the Dell Diagnostics and went SYSMTON TREE--that listed all the different types of problems you can test for. The computer tested for hard drive errors--everything passed it did a read test---that passed Long self test---passed I ran a test under the sympton of Blue Screen errors--that ran overnite--and that passed Problems with memory--ran that test and it passed I ran a test for System lock ups and that passed. I am not finished trying to find the root cause of this --but believe me I am determined. Thanks

After the CHKDSK run --the computer restarted but had the following message The system has recovered for a serious error--a log this has been created--tell Mecrosoft about this. I sent he report. I looked at what was on the report this is what it said: error signature BCCode:77 BCP1 :00000001 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4 : AE5EFC34 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product 256_1 This is the thechnical info. c:\DOCUME~1\Alexis\LOCALS`1\Temp\WER74a3.dir00\Mini032811-01.dmp c:\DOCUME~1\Alexis\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER74a3.dir00\SYSdata.xm1 I have not done the memory dump yet. I have read some and to me it appears maybe a driver problem--- I don't understand why I cannot run the Malwarebytes scan all the way thru--Is the scan so deep that it found a problem deep in the computer?   5. Yes, I did run the CHKDSK when you asked, it came back ok. I will run another tomorrow, before I do the memory diagnostic.

I did as you instructed, The scan was running and the following took place: I received the blue screen of death with the following message: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart. If it appears again, follow these steps, Check to make sure any new hardware/software is properly installed. Check for any windows updates you might need. If it continues, disable/remove any newly iinstalled hardare/software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to, use Safe Mode to remove/disable components. TECHNICAL INFO STOP: 0x00000077 (0x00000001, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0xAE5EFC34) Beginning dump of physical memory. Memory dump complete I am getting a feeling I did not do the attachment correctly.--I have never done this before--I am teaching myself. I do have a file zipped on my desktop, it's just a matter of me doing the right thing. Sorry for the inconvenience I am causing.
  10. thank you for your response. I do have a question. when you say close ALL APPLICATIONS does that mean close all start up programs before starting the process you suggested. I will try your sugested process on Thursday. I do not want you to close my topic. I am working on this and I appreciate your efforts. Thanks

Recently scanning with malwarebytes(full scan) when 43 seconds into scan --it freezes at one of the following files c:\dellUSB3KB.REG---I try again, and freezes at c:\dell\DELLLHelp\COA-Wiz6.gif. I try again and runs the scan without any freeze ups. I try again when it freezes at c:\dellUSB3KB.REG. Any suggestions stitchin4
