  1. Nothing else causing issues. Thanks again so much for all your help! Jeremy
  2. Could only make it through Step 12, as the icon I was to click on in Step 13 was not active, but allowed me to update! I ran both the Malwarebytes scan and the Trend scan, and have no problems. I guess it was just the auto update from Windows last Saturday that caused the problem. Thanks so much for your help!!! I really appreciate it.
  3. Only problem that remains is the error message I listed above when I try to update malwarebytes. Trend is updating fine (I assume) but says I have the newest updates. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks for responding. I do not see any way to post the results from the Trend scans. I can see the last several, but can't copy and paste them. They are all cookies, though. If need be, I can retype them, but there are 54 of them. I think it flags all cookies, so I try and delete them nightly. I can't update MBAM, as I get the error message "Program_Error_Updating (12029,0, WinHTTPSendRequest). It was last updated on 2/05. I can run it though, and the scan shows as follows: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 5691 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18999 2/8/2011 8:45:02 PM mbam-log-2011-02-08 (20-45-02).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 164982 Time elapsed: 5 minute(s), 19 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Here is the DDS.TXT. 5. I posted this on another log, but apparently wasn't supposed to start a new thread to report new stuff. Here is the new info: Today, the screen flashed again, the icons got large, it flashed again, they went back to normal, and my computer said it wanted to restart for a Windows update in 15 minutes. I have delayed it four hours. As I type on this page, the screen "flashes" with every keystroke. I performed a trend scan again today. It said 8 malicious items detected while it was running, but at the end said only 6 were found. Malwarebytes found no malicious items. Here is the most recent rootkit scan result: GMER 1.0.15.15530 - http://www.gmer.net Rootkit scan 2011-02-06 18:43:45 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Running: klt4dfjt.exe ---- Files - GMER 1.0.15 ---- File C:\Users\U\AppData\Local\Temp\~DFCA9B.tmp 512 bytes File C:\Users\U\AppData\Local\Temp\~WRS0001.tmp 0 bytes ---- EOF - GMER 1.0.15 ---- Any help is appreciated.
  6. Two nights ago I think I got a virus. My screen flashed, the text of the webpage I was viewing switched to large then back to normal very quickly, and my windows mail opened on its own. It also notified me my computer would restart, though I delayed that and performed a system restore. After the restore, my malwarebytes and Trend antivirus showed no problems. I had no problems yesterday, either. Today, the screen flashed again, the icons got large, it flashed again, they went back to normal, and my computer said it wanted to restart for a Windows update in 15 minutes. I have delayed it four hours. As I type on this page, the screen "flashes" with every keystroke. Please help. These are the restults of the scans I performed yesterday. I can perform them again if necessary. Thanks in advance for all your help. _______________________________________________________________ Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 5683 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18999 2/5/2011 8:33:46 AM mbam-log-2011-02-05 (08-33-46).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 168488 Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 32 second Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) _______________________________________________________________ DDS (Ver_10-12-12.02) - NTFS_AMD64 Run by U at 13:36:24.22 on Sat 02/05/2011 Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18999 Microsoft
  7. Last night I think I got a virus. My screen flashed, the text of the webpage I was viewing switched to large then back to normal very quickly, and my windows mail opened on its own. It also notified me my computer would restart, though I delayed that and performed a system restore. I have noticed no problems since, except now my malwarebytes will not update. I was able to save it and update by changing the name, but neither it nor my antivirus software (trend micro) found anything. Anyone's help is greatly appreciated. _______________________________________________________________ Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 5683 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18999 2/5/2011 8:33:46 AM mbam-log-2011-02-05 (08-33-46).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 168488 Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 32 second Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) _______________________________________________________________ DDS (Ver_10-12-12.02) - NTFS_AMD64 Run by U at 13:36:24.22 on Sat 02/05/2011 Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18999 Microsoft
