  1. Computer works like it is brand new. Thank you so much for all of your help
  2. trend micro did not show up in the program list. I even searched for it and it returned nothing. It is almost like the program is already installed and some of the components are left behind. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks
  3. Also I use to use Trend Micro Internet Security my subscription expired and I am not renewing it. I am now using microsoft security essentials. I can not manage to get trendmicro to uninstall. If i click remove from the control panel nothing happens. If i go to the start menu and navigate to trendmicro and select uninstall nothing happens. I looked online and some people suggested using Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Tool Kit to remove the program and it will not work either.
  4. Malwarebytes did not find any problems. Attached is the log file. My Microsoft Security Essential found a problem during the malwarebyte scan and it fixed the following: Virsus:Win32/Alureon.H Items file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pci.sys My computer is running much better and is not having the internet explorer problems it had before. The computer was working much better before Microsoft Security Essentials removed the above mentioned problem. mbam_log_2011_01_26__06_58_25_.txt

  8. My wife has a dell inspiron mini running xp home edition. She got a popup telling her the boot sector in her harddrive is bad and performed the defragmentation scan and then purchased something and ran another scan. Most of the computer seems to be working properly. I used windows tools and rolled it back to a previous date. I also installed microsoft security essentials and malware bytes. They found a few problems which were repaired. Internet explorer is the only thing i can find that is not working correctly. when you go to google and search for something and then click on a result it takes you somewhere else. I ran hijack this and i am posting the log. Please help with what I need to do. Thanks
