  1. Hi everyone. I am Ray. I am new here and first time poster. I am trying to fix my cousins Eee PC Netbook for here but am getting stopped at every corner I turn. Since I does not have a CD Rom, I can not use any discs I have or anything so I am trying it the program way. This computer has every form of every malware known in it. Maybe exageration but not far from the truth. My main problem is it had that Antivirus 2010 virus and it also keeps installing the white smoke virus. I got it to finally boot in safe mode and ran malwarebytes and it had 79 problem files. I ran it again in regular user mode and it came up with 28 more. Now it is showing me 0 problem files. I fixed IE and Firefox both so it would quit using the proxy redirect and was able to get to regular sites again, but now the pc is blocking me from any download I try to get or any website I go to to try and help fix the problem. I am stuck. Literally. Currently, I do not have a flash drive to save any info on what so ever so I can not post the log files here. Hopefully my kid brings her flash drive home from school today. Oh I also ran Spybot S&D for the h*ll of it and it found a BUNCH of problems but was unable to fix anything because it was being denied permission from writing a file. Can anyone please help me? I have been working on computers for people for years on end and never been whooped until now. I have learned a very valuable lesson through all of this. I will NOT be buying my kids a netbook ever. I hate not having a CD Rom. If it is any help, I may be able to network the netbook to my desk top pc so I can transfer files and get the logs from that PC to this one. Thanks for ANY help I can get even if it is little or major. Ray
