  1. 1 year ago I bought and built myself a computer which has since then worked flawless. However using it as normal today an error message came up saying the following: "Windows has encountered a critical error and will restart in 1 minute, please save all open files" I immediatly knew something fishy was going on so I tried to open different web pages and files before restarting to look for symptoms. The following happend: -While trying to open web pages instead the browser displayed plain text reading an error I can't remember (it was something about failing parental control) -While opening pictures etc an error came up saying something about not being able to find the root-server or something similar. - The restart/shut down/sleep options were greyed out in the start menu I instead pressed to reset button on my case on proceded into Safe mode. Once in I scanned with both MBAM and super anti spyware without finding anything. Currently I'm in normal mode without any problems so I turn to you to help me. Please have a look at my DDS reports and report if you find something strange: Worth mentioning is that all the error messages except the one showing in the browser were in the same languages as my Windows Instalation: Swedish Attach.txt
  2. Here's my DDS log: . 3. Posting a way to check for rootkits would be much appriciated
  4. This is the situation: Nor ESET or MBAM are able to scan a number of files in the C:/Windows/system32 folder. Theese ranges from Important ones like: - Csrss.exe - Taskhost.exe - Various .DLL files To unimportant ones like -Stikynt.exe There are no connection in last edited/created between the affected files. Theese are the known facts: - I did got the problem before I had to reformat after a failed windows update, the problem persisted - I can't them scan the in safe mode - They won't show up when trying to upload them to virus total - There's no problem copying the files to my desktop and searching them there. Eset or MBAM find them clean - I've got no weird out/ingoing connections - ESET and MBAM don't find any malware/spyware etc on the computer scanning both in safe and "regular" mode. - The computer is nowere close to sluggish Would some one help in this situation, give me some advices like have a look at me running processes or something similar. I'm being really paranoid about this.
  5. I've recently noticed that i'm not able to scan some files in the system32 folder. It can be important ones like: Dwm.exe or csrss.exe or unimportant like stikynot.exe The message I get is the following: [4] Couldn't open file, maybe it's in use by another program or the operating system. (don't know if theese are the exact right words in the english version thoug) What makes me get a little worried is that some of the files i can't scan aren't even runnig, and that my Laptop with vista has no problem scanning the exact same files. I tried to enter safe mode and scan theese files there to see if it would change anything, it didn't. I haven't been seing anything unusual and can't come to think of any performance losses. Should I be worried?
  6. I will scan my computer with Nod32 and MBAM again tomorrow and if something dangeruos comes up again i'll let you know
  7. I don't know why there's a "java auto updater" in the "attach" log. It isn't shown in the normal add or remov programs meny Searched the HDD for left over java files but found only the ones for JavaRa
