so running windows 7 64 bit OS and i had a problem where malwarebytes wasn't running(the protection worked fine though) updated and reinstalled didn't work. so i finally renamed the base exe. file IE and the scanner started working but it says I'm not infected I'm completely updated but it can not find anything

I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS. and the protection module works fine updates and everything i just can't get the scanner to open. it worked at first but for some reason it wont run now. thanks for your help
