I had 55 commercial customers affected by this. Most were successfully repaired by going into the safe mode and running recovery to just before it happened. 6 had to have data backed up, and the OS reinstalled clean, followed by all the updates and all the programs. Many hours were spent fixing this mess! The last one was finally completed Monday 4/22/2013. Let's HOPE it doesn't happen again!
