  1. Hi, I'm trying to uninstall memturbo 4 but keep getting the pop up to subscribe. Now that the trial subscription is over I would like to delete the program and tried uninstalling through Add/Delete programs, but I still keep getting the message asking if I would like to subscribe. Am I missing a step, is there another way to delete this program? Thanks in advance.
  2. Can you please provide help on how to stop the Windows Geniune Advantage Notifications Installation Wizard pop-up from appearing when I log in to Windows. I am not interested in installing this software but do not know how to get rid of it or stop it from appearing everytime I log into Windows. I've attached a screenshot of the pop-up. Thanks in advance for your help. Windows_Genuine_Advantage_Notification_pop_up.doc Windows_Genuine_Advantage_Notification_pop_up.doc
  3. Ok, I'm following you now. What exactly would I be checking on this tab, there's a lot of info here. Thanks
  4. By checking permissions do you mean right clicking on the folder in the Secondary computer and clicking on the 'Sharing & Security' to see if the actual folder is set to Not Shared .... if so, then yes. Or is there another way to check permissions? I realize I can right click and delete the listing on the Primary computer, but I'm very interested to know why it's appearing if I have file sharing set to No.
  5. Thanks for responding. However, one of the folders being shared from the Secondary computer is the My Music folder, which makes me think it's not by default. Any thoughts?
  6. Would appreciate some help with a networking question. I recently created a home network in order to share files and my printer between two computers. On my primary computer, when I click on 'My Network Places', I'm seeing 3 shared folders but on the secondary computer I only allowed sharing on one folder. I checked the other two folders and noticed that they were set as Shared folders so changed it Not Shared. However, I'm still seeing these 2 folders when I click on My Network Places on my primary computer. I rebooted both computers and still see the same. When I click on either of these 2 folders from my primary computer it says 'not accessible' - if I've changed the folders to Not Shared shouldn't it stop appearing under My Network Places on my primary computer? Is there other settings I need to change on the secondary computer with these folders? Thanks for your help.
  7. I'm not having any problems, just wanted to confirm that my system is now clean of any viruses, malware, etc. Thanks for confirming. Just a few more questions. 1 - I used CCleaner.exe to clean my Registry, but latter read in some forums that this is not the best tool to use when cleaning your Registry ... can you tell if my Registry is still intact, did I do any damage to it? 2 - What spyware and firewall software do you recommend? Is there any other tools I should be using to keep my pc protected. Many thanks again!

  11. I was infected by the XP Antivirus 2008 and took the following steps. 1 - Downloaded MBAM, but was unable to run so then went into Device Manager and dissabled TDSSserv.sys. 2 - Installed MBAM and was able to clean up XP Antivirus. 3 - Went back into Device Manager and uninstalled TDSSserv.sys 4 - Downloaded CCLeaner.exe and cleaned up all files and Registry. However, I ran a search on TDSS to make sure everything was all clean and I'm still seeing the following ... C:\WINDOWS\system32\TDSSosvd.dat My questions is what is TDSSosvd.dat, I'm assuming this is related to TDSSserv.sys and the XP Antivirus ... how can I remove this? Also, how do I know if my pc is now completely clean? Many thanks for any help.
