  1. The insturctions above seem to have worked fine. I don't have Norton 360 installed, just Norton Internet Security, so I didn't do those steps. I did notice a couple of things, for which I'd appreciate feedback: Once I installed and completed all the settings, I notice that on the desktop icon for Malwarebytes, it has a blue and gold shield on the icon. When I click the icon to lauch, a dialog box appears saying "Do you want ot allow the following program to make changes to this computer.?" It then lists Malwarebytes Anti-malware as the program. I click the Yes button and then Malwarebytes launches. Is there a way to keep this dialog box from appearing? Also, in the install instructions above, the exclusion step for the file in windows\system32\drivers\ is named mbamswissarmy.sys and not mbam.sys. Is this a problem? Thanks again for all the help!
  2. I haven't reinstalled Malwarebytes yet. Should I do some of the actions you listed belore I reintall?
  3. I just purchased a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium OS, SP1, and 64 bit. I also own Malwarebytes, but haven't installed it on the new PC. My Norton software is the Internet Security package, version 19.7.1.5. I heard there was some conflict between Malwarebytes and Norton. Could someone supply info on how to install Malwarebytes with Norton and what (if any settings on Norton need to be adjusted to account for Malwarebytes being on the same PC? Thanks!
  4. I am running MalwareBytes on a Win XP machine. I also am running McAfee Security Center. I had to uninstall and reinstall McAfee and in order to reinstall McAfee, I had to uninstll MalwareBytes because it conflicted w/McAfee. I now have McAfee reinstalled. Questions: Where is the link to re-download MalwareBytes. I tried a link I had before, but that downloads and installs a product called Aro-something. What are the exclusions I need to put in McAfee that allows it to run w/MalwareBytes? I know there were modules like Mbam.exe and others. Thanks!
  5. I have MalwareBytes 1.50 and am running Windows XP Professional 2002 SP3. When I open MalwareBytes and check the Update tab, it says my current database version was late updated on 4/10 and that it is version 6327. I am also getting messages from MalwareBytes that my database hasn't been updated since 4/10. However, when I click the Check for Updates button, it says I have the latest database version. It seems strange that there hasn't been any updates in that long. Is there something wrong that it isn't allowing me to update the database? Thanks for any assistance!
  6. I installed Malwarebytes not long ago and am still having problems. I run XP, 2002 SP3 and also have McAfee Security Center installed. I have had to have a PC professional come to my home recently to clean off malware not caught by this product and just two days later I'm stuck again. I boot up the PC and when it is finished booting up, everything freezes. I can't launch anything and finally have to just shut down. Before this happened, I caught a message that said that McAfee's monitoring feature had been turned off (not by me). I am stumped as to what is happening. I have the Malwarebytes monitoring turned on and the feature checked to start it up w/Windows. When the PC tech was at my house, we also did the exclusions that I got from this site that should have allowed McAfee and Malwarebytes to run together. So, it looks like I'll have to spend more $$ to get the PC tech back at my house to fix this. I must say that I have been very unimpressed with Malwarebytes. It has caused more problems and cost me more money that before I installed it. I'm getting the impression that the product was not very well constructed. If you have any helpful info, I'd appreciate it. I"m close to taking this off my PC trying something else. Thank you.
  7. So, how do I get Malwarebytes to function while I am running McAfee Security Center? When I try to run Malwarebytes with the monitoring on, it slows things to a crawl. Aren't there McAfee settings I can adjust to allow both to run? I am on XP Professional, v2002, SP3.
  8. The system I am using is XP Professional, v2002, SP3 I am using McAfee Security Center. BTW - I did rename the mbam exe to firefox.exe and was able to run it.
  9. I have had Malwarebytes installed for several weeks. I also have McAfee Antivirus installed as well. When I first installed Malwarebytes and activated the monitoring feature that runs in the background, it slowed my PC to a crawl. I had to deslect that seting in Malwarebytes in order to get the PC to run normally. However, I don't have the protection of having the application monitoring my PC as I use it. Now, the Malwarebytes application won't even launch in order for me to run a scan. I double click the desktop icon and nothing happens. I've even gone to the application exe in the Program Files area on C: and double clicked that, but nothing happens. I tried redownloading and reinstalling the latest version, but it still doesn't work. Is this conflicting w/McAfee? If so, I'm pretty disappointed that I'm finding this out after paying for a license, etc. Can anyone assist me?
