The only part of leaving Windows that I have regretted losing is; I no longer have MalwareBytes helping me keep my Linux Mint MATE secure from any potential nasties. Now that there is considerable movement away from Windows to join Apple and Android OS's, I am curious as why MalwareBytes is not offering to provide their awesome protection to Linux based OS's, which like Apple and Android, are also vulnerable to open source bugs and nasties, are they not? https://forums.theregister.co.uk/forum/all/2020/03/13/open_source_bugs/ Couldn't keep up with the expenses of constantly upgrading my old Apple iMac, so switched to Windows XP & 7 and the warm fuzzy feeling of MalwareBytes protection, but after discovering the 'modus operandi' with Win 10, the flags were flying for me to move over to the less invasive and more tolerable side of OS's. Not the easiest of transitions for an old timer, but the affordability and effort has been well worth it.🤠👍

Apologies for late reply daledoc1 but chores took a little longer than expected. Herself is now most pleased ;-) Did the complete uninstall/reinstall as you suggested and so far, everything is now working fine, including the auto "Database Update" feature too. I'm wondering whether the removal of Kaspersky IS 2016 and replacing it with this much less intrusive Bitdefender IS 2016, may have hurt my original installation of Malwarebytes Premium. Anyway, all is now back to normal with special thanks for your help daledoc1. Not sure how to mark this issue as "Resolved" but I'm sure those that read thus far will see that it is.

Wow! That was a very quick response daledoc1, Thank You. Unfortunately I am just about to go off-line and do some 'High Priority' household chores for my good lady, but when they are done, I will carry out all your advice and return here to let you know the outcome. Which I'm sure will be satisfactory, but will need to let you know anyway.

Hi everyone, Have checked the MB Forum Search feature, but all the results refer to the 'Program Updates' only. My question is, why is the auto "Database Update" feature not working in my Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium). After the default 7 days notification, I have to 'Manually' go and get the latest Database Updates :-( My OS:- Win 7 HP 32Bit installed on an awesome old (but very reliable) AKOYA Medion E7216 Laptop.

Is anyone using CryptoPrevent with MBARW?
Palebushman replied to MitchHellman's topic in Anti-Ransomware Beta
You beat me to it Mitch! I asked that very same question but posted in the wrong part of this forum. My apologies to LDTate. The general consensus appears to indicate no conflicts between these two programs, but as MBARW is still in Beta, prudence dictates that I follow the tip provided by 1PW. Thanks to the other guys contributions so far, in this thread. -
Update Scheduler Un-Checking itself!
Palebushman replied to Palebushman's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Okay daledoc1, I have carried out your first suggestion to my MB issue and I have to say................... YOU'RE A DIAMOND ! Everything with MalwareBytes is now up and running as designed, perfectly. Please kill me a curiosity though, how come I don't see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware in my Registry anymore? Don't explain if it jeopardises the program in anyway, who knows who is watching this thread. -
Update Scheduler Un-Checking itself!
Palebushman replied to Palebushman's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Many thanks for your prompt reply daledoc1 Okay, I have re-scheduled the Update task, WITHOUT the box being checked this time, and will see what happens tomorrow when I re-start my laptop. Just as a matter of interest; why does MB Premium not update itself automatically, without user input? My old 11 year old FREE Malwarebytes used to warn me to check for updates, but I would have thought the paid Premium version would do all this for me. My Avast! Pro certainly does and the little 'pop-up' telling me that it has performed this task, I find very comforting and reassuring. Anyway, let's see what happens tomorrow and I will get straight back to you. -
My version of:- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.2.1012 © Malwarebytes Corporation. All rights reserved. Build Date: 13/05/2014 After I check/select the box to 'Check for Updates' everyday, the check/tick icon disappears from the box the next time I turn my laptop on. The system tray Malwarebytes icon has an exclamation mark on it and I then have to update manually and then re-tick the box again, in the hope that the scheduler will function automatically. But no................ Next time I start up the laptop, the exclamation mark is proudly displaying itself on the Malwarebytes tray icon, then i go through the whole above procedure again. My question is:- What is causing the removal of my check mark, from the 'Check for Updates' box?

Hi all, Recently I decided to upgrade my old free and trusted Malwarebytes to the 'Pro' version. Since installing and applying the the pro version ID Key, the highest consumer of memory on my machine (XP Pro SP3* ) is mbamservice.exe! *No, I don't want to upgrade my XP just yet, too many issues to discuss on that, and not relative to this post. My other question is, why does Malewarebytes GUI take so very long to open up!?
